Chapter 106: Scarlet Blood
Everyone was worried, wondering if anyone would survive the last transport plane.
The combined attack of two high-level zombies left the remaining survivors exhausted and powerless after several battles.
Song Wenwen was also worried: "Captain Han, I've decided to go and check on him."
Han Yi frowned. It wasn't that he disagreed, but what if Song Wenwen went and didn't come back? Wouldn't that be a loss of a highly capable general?
Seeing Song Wenwen's firm and determined look, he could only say in a hoarse voice, "I'll bring two superhumans with me."
Song Wenwen then relaxed and said, "I understand."
Then they brought Yang Jinxia and another ice-type ability user, Leng Ran, along with them.
The three girls headed together in the direction where the transport plane had crashed.
In the forest, Chen Zui pulled Jiang Lecheng all the way to the crash site that he had seen and anticipated beforehand.
Upon arriving nearby, sure enough, not far away, one could see some helicopter debris and blood that looked like it could sting the eyes; the fuselage was almost entirely stained red.
There were many severed limbs and broken legs around.
Chen Zui burst into tears almost instantly: "Grandpa!"
He ran over shouting, trying to dig out his grandfather who was buried in the broken fuselage.
Jiang Lecheng and Zhang Yiyang quickly followed and ran up. Because they were out looking for people, they were doing it in batches. Several other people with superpowers went to another direction to look for the other two crashed planes.
Jiang Lecheng's superpower came in very handy at this moment, as she continuously melted the various fragments of the crashed plane with her hands.
Zhang Yiyang found two sticks, separated them, and started digging.
Chen Zui kept his head down, ignoring the beads of sweat dripping from his forehead into his collar. His eyes were full of seriousness as he continued to dig through the rubble with the stick in his hand.
Two hours later, Jiang Lecheng melted all the debris from the crash and piled it all on the ground on the other side.
Gradually, many severed limbs and broken legs, as well as heads with their eyes wide open in death, were revealed on the surface.
There were also many torn clothes, until... Jiang Lecheng called out, "Grandpa Chen!"
Her voice carried a hint of sorrow.
Chen reacted the fastest, turning around immediately and seeing that familiar yet aged face, now stained with blood.
He rushed over and hugged his grandfather, using his dirty little hands to wipe the dirt off his grandfather's face bit by bit, but the dirtier he wiped, the dirtier it became. Tears kept falling from his little face, dripping down his eyes and onto his grandfather's dirty face.
He hugged his grandfather and burst into tears. His little body trembled, and he cried out in grief, his mouth wide open: "Grandpa! Grandpa!"
Jiang Lecheng's throat tightened. It was she who had turned back and rescued Grandpa Chen from the supermarket, but now he was dying right before her eyes. Her heart felt like it was being torn apart. With red eyes, she stepped forward and hugged Chen Zui and Grandpa Chen together, tears streaming down her face: "Grandpa Chen."
Zhang Yiyang, his eyes also red and swollen, gritted his teeth. He was a man, and he needed to save his strength to carry Grandpa Chen back.
After a long while, until their crying gradually subsided.
He choked up as he said, "Xiao Zui, let's carry Grandpa Chen back first."
Jiang Lecheng and Chen Zui then let go of each other and shook off all the fragments from Grandpa Chen's body.
At least Grandpa Chen was still alive, and at least his body hadn't been torn apart by the zombies. His only fatal wound was actually a shard of a wing in his hand that cut his neck!
