Chapter 214

"The First Base can provide the ships."

After Qingli sat down, he explained his plan, as well as the resources and manpower that the First Base could provide.

Ye Shang stroked the little diamond fox she had been holding in her hand, which she had polished with her light touch until it was very smooth.

"That's settled then. Captain Han, go and get ready. We'll depart in three days," she said.

"Okay." After organizing the meeting minutes, Han Yi went to make the arrangements.

Zhou Yi'an then asked, "Did you go out with the First Base's main force this time?"

Ye Shang glanced at Qing Li and replied, "Yes, is there a problem?"

Zhou Yi'an frowned slightly: "There's nothing wrong with it, but the main problem is that after the headquarters leaves, I don't know if the base commander will issue any new policies."

When he went to the First Base for a meeting before, he had a feeling that there would be new policies, but since the General Team was always at the First Base and had not yet issued them, he did not pay much attention to it.

Qing Li said, "The old man and Qing Wentao won't go too far. Unless they take over all the bases, their idea won't be so easy to achieve."

The leaders of each base are no pushovers. Take Zhou Yi'an, who seems the most honest and stable right now, for example. He only rose to power after killing all the original high-ranking members of the Fifth Base.

Although he made great contributions to the Fifth Base, in the eyes of those in power at other bases, he was always a ruthless killer.

Zhou Yi'an was slightly relieved: "Then let's wait for Captain Ye's good news."

Hopefully, other countries won't react as quickly, nor will they recover as rapidly as China.

Night had fallen, and Ye Shang and the other walked side by side on the road of the Fifth Base. The moonlight was bright, but the air was chilly. The weather was still the same as at the beginning of the apocalypse, with high temperatures during the day and a sudden drop in temperature at night.

Qingli walked slowly, turning her head to look at Ye Shang's cheek. Her voice was very soft, and she exhaled a few breaths of mist as she spoke: "I don't know why, but seeing you this time feels like a lifetime ago."

Ye Shang recalled the Demon King's face; apart from the purple eyes which were not quite the same as his peach blossom eyes, everything else was almost identical.

She stopped, took Qingli's arm, and asked, "Do you ever have hallucinations?"

Qingli stopped in her tracks, somewhat bewildered by her question, and shook her head: "No."

Ye Shang took his hand and placed the little fox he had been holding in his left hand into his palm: "This is a gift for you, carved today."

Qingli looked at the object in her hand under the moonlight. It was an incredibly cute and adorable little animal. Upon closer inspection, she realized it had large, long ears. This was...

Ye Shang seemed to see the doubt in his eyes: "This is a fennec fox, also known as a desert fox, which is the smallest fox in the world."

She paused here, then continued, "She is also... universally acknowledged as the cutest little fox."

This is no lie; it's what she found through her search. She heard that before the apocalypse, it was ranked number one as the cutest little animal.

Qingli asked instinctively, "Publicly acknowledged? Then do you think it's cute?"

Ye Shang smiled faintly, "Of course."

Qingli squeezed the little fox tightly. In fact, when he was very young, he often dreamed that he was running and playing on a large grassland and drinking water by the river.

The reflection in the water looked like a little fox. Later, he searched his memory for many images of foxes, and this was the one that matched. But he didn't dare tell anyone.

He had told his mother about it, but she only said it was a dream, not a ghost.
