Chapter 234

Ye Shang and Qing Li sat on the Light Shadow Sword. Qing Li asked, "Ah Shang, where are we going?"

He thought he was going straight back to China, but he didn't expect to go in a different direction.

Ye Shang said, "I'm going to a place, but I don't know if it still exists there."

According to the location of the Xuan Tian Continent, the Demon Realm is located on the opposite side of the sea, roughly in the southeast direction.

Although it's possible to go back to the Flower Kingdom first and then go there, it's not as fast as her flying sword.

Her main reason for wanting to see if that location had changed again was because, after discovering the fragments of the Demon King's soul within Qingli's body, she had been wondering if there were anything similar in this world.

What if something that once existed only on the Xuan Tian Continent reappears in this world?

Seeing that she was deep in thought, Qingli didn't ask any questions. He sat there at ease, occasionally glancing at the scenery below.

"The scenery wouldn't be so monotonous before the apocalypse."

The world today is ravaged, forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Trees that may have existed a year ago are now almost entirely gone, except for those that have mutated, leaving only desolate land and dust.

Ye Shang wrapped her arms around his waist, rested her chin on his shoulder, and glanced down: "Hmm, the world is being cleaned up."

Qingli asked with some melancholy, "Can we... protect them?"

He was starting to have doubts. Could humanity defy the natural evolution of the world? Would his efforts after the apocalypse ultimately lead to the outcome they hoped for?

Ye Shang turned to look at him: "What if we can't protect him?"

Qingli swallowed hard, her voice ethereal: "Then let's die together, so that this life won't have been in vain."

He did his best, but if he couldn't protect the world, then he certainly wouldn't survive either.

Ye Shang chuckled: "If we can't protect it, then we'll start over. It's no big deal."

Her voice was full of determination, domineering, and a hint of arrogance, as if there was nothing she couldn't protect.

Since we've decided to let her do it, she'll naturally assist us according to the instructions.

Qingli's expression was gentle, her eyes gleaming: "Yes, I'm here."

Yes, she's so powerful, what can't she protect?

After flying for two hours, the two landed on an island. The island looked somewhat desolate and seemed to have never been cultivated. However, most of the green branches had withered due to the changing weather.

Those that adapt well will mutate and become a new species, or begin to develop conscious activity.

Ye Shang took out the tent. For the two of them, one was an ability user and the other was a cultivator, setting up a tent was basically a matter of moving their fingers.

So, while Qingli was setting up the tent and arranging the living quarters inside, Ye Shang skewered a large amount of roasted meat, corn, and vegetables onto the Qingying Sword.

Ye Shang lit a fire. The temperature dropped sharply in the evening, falling several degrees below zero. She was wearing a robe and didn't feel anything, but Qing Li couldn't. She not only changed into a sweater and down jacket, but also wore the blue and white cloak that Ye Shang had given her.

The hands, which had been a little cold from the cold, gradually warmed up.

Ye Shang placed Qingying on the fire without using any sticks to support her, just letting her hang horizontally in the air, and said, "Turn it yourself, but remember not to burn it or overcook it."

Qingying obediently lay herself across the fire, slowly rotating the sword. The small flames couldn't harm her, but... who would use their divine weapon to roast meat?

Back in the day, it was a force to be reckoned with, having weathered countless battles. Ah, a hero doesn't dwell on past glories.

When Qingying felt the meat was almost cooked, she would put the meat from the sword blade onto a plate on the table next to her, and then she would obediently continue to skewer the next piece, knowing how to balance meat and vegetables.

Ye Shang lifted the tent flap to go in, then came back out. She almost thought she had gone to the wrong place, so she lifted it again to go in.

Didn't she just tell him to set up the tent?

Goodness, did he renovate the whole house as soon as I went in?

The warm yellow light and thick carpet covering the floor created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. A large bed stood in the center, and a small pot of oranges sat on the bedside table. Although it was just for decoration, it undeniably added a touch of charm.

Qingli, on the other hand, was sitting on the carpet, fiddling with something.

Ye Shang wondered whether she should take off her shoes, so she simply changed into a new pair of slippers and went inside to find him unpacking a small box.

What is this?

The sudden sound seemed to startle him; he quickly hugged the small box in his arms and looked up at Ye Shang.

"Nothing...nothing."

Ye Shang raised an eyebrow, sat on the bed, and looked down at him: "Hidden from me?"

Seeing her like this, Qingli had no choice but to take out the small box from her arms and open it, "Really, there's nothing here."

The box was opened, and inside was a small notebook, a blue and white notebook, and a pen next to it.

Ye Shang didn't bother to look at what was written in the notebook, so he simply stood up and said, "Get ready and come out for dinner."

Qingli tugged at her sleeve, her eyes filled with anticipation: "You really don't want to see what's written?"

Ye Shang bent down slightly, reached out and pinched his chin, and smiled, "Everyone has their own secrets. As long as it's not something that threatens your life, I don't mind if you keep it to yourself."

Qingli raised her long, slender neck, her eyes slightly red, pursed her lips, and softly called out, "A-Shang..."

Ye Shang loosened her grip slightly, and the red marks from her pinching were clearly visible on his jawline. She reached out and rubbed it, and seeing that the red marks had healed a little, she said, "I'll go out first."

After saying that, he turned around and walked out of the tent.

Qingli knelt on the thick carpet, her long, slender fingers with distinct knuckles taking out a notebook. The first page she opened was filled with writing.

This is a diary he started writing when he first met Ye Shang. He would secretly record things every day, things that happened when he was with her, or the changes in her feelings for him.

He recorded everything he could sense.

The box also contained some small photos, which he had taken discreetly from behind each time and then printed out.

The quantity is not large; most of the electronic versions are stored in optical computers.

He sighed deeply and put the small box into his spatial storage.

Stepping out of the tent, he saw a woman sitting by a campfire not far away. With a smile on his face, he walked over.

Ye Shang was instructing Qingying, "Bake this one too."

The corn, cut into pieces and roasted, is sweet; Qingli should like it.

Qingying herself shrank the tip of the sword and strung them together one by one. Even as she flew onto the fire, she held the sword horizontally and kept turning it from time to time.

Qingli was truly astonished. "Ah Shang, is Qingying so perceptive?"

Ye Shang patted the chair next to him, gesturing for him to sit down: "Hmm, not bad."
