Chapter 356

"Are you crazy? You're spreading rumors and making me afraid to go to work."

"Exactly, it's made my child afraid to go to school and just stays at home."

"I'm speechless. My wife even went and stocked up on a lot of supplies. My family might have to eat dry food every day from now on."

"It's okay for the upstairs neighbors to stockpile supplies. The real problem is that I'm stuck at home, afraid to go out. I'm almost unable to pay my rent, and the place where I used to work doesn't want me anymore."

...

People complained, some were just following the crowd, while others had actually received the news. However, many knew that a war was going to break out, but with the base's managers there, they only needed to do their own jobs.

In a normal life, if a real crisis occurs, the base will have protective measures in place.

This resulted in the arrest of many people; some were lured with bribes, while others were placed under control.

Being controlled is normal. Superpowers in the apocalypse are incredibly diverse. Even though most are elemental powers, many others possess other strange and unusual abilities.

Ye Shang was no stranger to this situation, but she was wondering how to find out who this kind of person was.

If you bring them to her, she'll definitely recognize them, but she might not recognize the others in the base. But she can't possibly identify them one by one herself.

Ye Shang frowned slightly as he pondered.

-

On the other side, Qingli had reached the top of the mountains. This place was surrounded by mountains, with little greenery around it. It was covered with soil, sand, and countless bare, withered branches.

These are all green plants that gradually disappeared after the apocalypse. Now, they can only be made by people with superpowers. The decorations in the base and the gardens in the community are also made by people with superpowers.

They were all planted in pots and pans, filled with soil condensed by earth elemental ability users.

When Qingli arrived, he saw no one and frowned, asking, "What are you hiding?"

A sneer came from behind him. Qingli turned around and saw the same man in black from the night before last.

Even though it was daytime, the other person was still dressed in the same way, entirely in black.

When Qingli saw him, she chuckled softly: "She's not here, aren't you going to take off your mask?"

The black mask completely covered the man's face, leaving only his eyes visible.

The man in black seemed somewhat skeptical: "Are you so sure she won't come?"

Qingli nodded: "I've already spoken to A Shang, and besides, she's busy right now."

Upon hearing this, the man in black immediately tried to step forward and restrain Qingli, but he missed.

Qingli said calmly, "There are no restrictions today, so we can have a proper fight."

The man in black hung his hands at his sides, thought for a moment, and then suddenly reached out his right hand and removed the mask from his face.

As the mask was slowly removed, a very delicate and beautiful face was revealed, with deep and beautiful eyes, long, curved eyelashes that trembled when blinking, and moist lips that, despite not having seen much light, still maintained their own unique crimson color.

Perhaps due to years of lack of sunlight, his skin was unusually pale—no, it should be described as deathly pale—yet it still couldn't hide his stunning radiance.

His skin was even fairer than Qingli's, but he just didn't look as healthy as Qingli.

Qingli froze the moment she saw his face.

This photo bears almost a ten percent resemblance to himself; no, it's almost identical.

The man in black saw the astonishment in his eyes and immediately burst into laughter. It was a very beautiful laugh, one that Qingli would never normally show.

Qingli sized him up: "You're the hidden zombie king?"

Zombie King: "Isn't this normal? We've met before, you should be able to sense it."

Upon learning this answer, Qingli's mood was not good; on the contrary, it sank to the bottom. In other words, the zombie king in front of her was the main fragment of the former demon king, and the two of them had to merge, and one of them might die.

The Zombie King spread his arms wide, his smile wicked: "Come on, we'd better settle this before the overseas power war, I don't want to hold Ah Shang back."

He also called out Ye Shang's name, which instantly made Qing Li feel uncomfortable. This was clearly her own, but the person in front of her was a fragment of her soul. Who could she reason with?

No wonder he looked at Ye Shang with that kind of gaze before; it was clearly out of reluctance.

Qing Li said coldly, "There's no point in us both suffering losses."

The Zombie King raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What do you want?"

After thinking for a moment, Qingli opened her arms in his manner: "Why don't you try to take my body? Don't you envy being held in her arms and kissed?"

"She won't like your body, so let's fight over mine."

Qingli said earnestly.

The Zombie King frowned slightly. He had initially thought it was some kind of conspiracy, but it turned out to be this reason. However, he looked at Qing Li's appearance and then at the pure white cloak he was wearing.

He pursed his lips. To be honest, it would be a lie to say he wasn't envious. He had thought about being held in Ye Shang's arms and kissed countless times, but every time he thought about his body being a zombie, he would give up the idea.

"Can."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Zombie King disappeared from the spot, leaving only a skeleton where he had just stood.

A dark shadow rushed directly into Qingli's body, and once inside, there was no way for any fighting to take place.

The body of the departing figure stood rooted to the spot, roaring, "You lied to me?!"

The next moment, as if talking to himself, he said softly, "I didn't. This is the process of fusion, the fusion of two souls."
