Chang Lin's ability is better than Qi He's; he can tell whether a person with a fever is about to turn into a zombie or a superhuman, and sometimes he can even see the next half-second of subtle movements.
But he never said anything in advance. He was a cautious person, so he would only speak up when the signs were very obvious, in order to avoid killing the wrong person.
Upon seeing its master, Qingying excitedly stepped forward, buzzing incessantly towards Ye Shang.
Ye Shang glanced at it, then reached out and gently placed the handle in her palm.
Ye Shang gripped Qingying tightly, her aura instantly surging. Facing a group of zombies, she raised Qingying and slashed down with her sword. The sword light burst forth, the azure light heading towards the group of zombies in front.
With a whoosh, wherever the blue light passed, all the zombies were cleaved in two, and those that weren't cleaved were shattered by the sword energy.
Suddenly, a large open space was cleared up here.
They were about to launch another zombie attack when suddenly, a howling sound echoed throughout the entire city of S.
The zombies that had been ferociously attacking and devouring people just moments before gradually retreated.
Until there were no zombies left on the entire street, no, in the entire city of S.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. A million zombies and tens of thousands of superhumans could only hold them off for a while at most, but the sudden retreat of the zombie horde left everyone with different doubts and anxieties.
The fact that all the zombies have retreated only means that a higher-level, more powerful zombie has appeared that can control them, or even... lead them.
Almost all the superhumans were so exhausted that they sat down on the ground. Some even had their bodies throbbing with pain because their powers had been drained.
Ye Shang held the sword and poured a surge of energy into it. The sword trembled slightly and emitted a blue light, which deepened considerably.
As soon as Xie Qingyuan and the others came out, they saw her standing by the wall, looking down at the sword in her hand that emitted a blue light. Many people around were looking in her direction, as many had witnessed the scene just now.
But no one dared to step forward; almost everyone remained in place, either sitting or standing, their eyes fixed on that direction.
Ye Shang was still deep in thought. He hadn't expected that this energy shadow could also be absorbed. It seemed to be no worse than spiritual energy. Did that mean that she could convert all those zombies into energy by 'devouring' them?
Xie Qingyuan practically jumped in front of Ye Shang, propped himself up on his knees, and tilted his head to look at her: "Boss, what are you doing?"
Ye Shang snapped out of his daze and saw Xie Qingyuan bending over and tilting his head to look at him. "It's nothing."
Xie Qingyuan straightened up, smiled, and revealed his sharp little tiger teeth: "Boss, let's go inside and rest for a bit."
"Hmm." Ye Shang picked up Qingying and turned to walk into the door. There were too many people now, almost occupying the square outside the taller factory. After the zombies retreated, many superhumans were sitting on the ground to recover their energy.
Ye Shang paused, noticing Xie Qingyuan's appalling attire, and reached into his spatial storage to pull out a windbreaker, tossing it to him: "Put this on."
Xie Qingyuan took the windbreaker with delight, unzipped it and put it on. It was winter now, and although it wasn't too cold during the day, it was getting late and snowing was imminent, making it even colder than the previous nights.
Xie Qingye and the others had already seen the girl who came in after Xie Qingyuan ran out, carrying Qingying in her hand.
This sword has been tried and stolen by many, but anyone who did so met one of two fates: death or the loss of a hand. Apart from Xie Qingye, no one else has ever been able to touch it.
