Chapter 65: Mutated Vines
Following the map, Qingli drove for another two hours. S City is really big, especially since the shopping centers are far apart to avoid cutthroat competition.
Ye Shang noticed that he didn't look too good. "Are you hungry?"
Qingli responded, "A little."
Ye Shang took out a piece of cake, the soft kind. She broke off a piece and put it in his mouth.
He lost control of the car as soon as he left, drifting slightly. He glanced at her, then instinctively opened his mouth, tasting a sweet flavor that eased the discomfort in his stomach.
Ye Shang sat very steadily, without leaning forward. He broke off another piece and stuffed it directly into the boy's mouth, then took out a carton of milk, inserted a straw, and made him drink it.
Fortunately, the driver's driving skills were good; otherwise, it would have definitely resulted in a car accident.
Ye Shang said, "Let's grab a bite first. I checked the map, and it'll take at least another half hour to get there."
Qingli's earlobes were slightly red. The piece of cake she had just eaten accidentally touched her cool fingertips with her lips: "Mmm."
Ye Shang glanced at the tip of his ear, a smile curving at the corner of her eye. After feeding him all the cake in her hand, she sat down to rest.
Half an hour later, the two arrived at the Holiday Inn shopping mall, which was very large, especially with a lot of goods inside.
Qingli glanced at it and said, "I have a bad feeling about this."
Ye Shang squinted slightly as he examined her. "Hmm."
The car was parked at the entrance, and the two saw that the ground around them was completely destroyed. Ye Shang did not put the car away, and the two walked inside.
Almost as soon as the two stepped into the entrance, the ground suddenly shook, but strangely, the entire building did not move.
Ye Shang pulled Qing Li back and jumped to create some distance: "Be careful."
The slightly cool touch on his arm made his eyelashes flutter, and then he frowned and said, "A zombie?"
He wasn't afraid of high-level zombies at all; after all, he was capable of fighting them.
He has killed several high-level zombies over the years.
Ye Shang shook his head: "It doesn't seem like it."
The sunlight outside gradually became stronger, and the ground trembled more and more until the two of them were almost backed to the edge of the square.
A thick vine shot into the sky and punctured the car they had just driven.
The car was thus lifted straight into the air and hung from a vine as thick as an adult's arm.
Vines continued to appear all around them, and the two quickly ran away.
Qingli's speed was no slower than Ye Shang's. The next moment, a hurricane appeared beneath him, lifting the two of them into the sky.
And the vines continued to rise, as if they wouldn't stop until they pierced through them.
Ye Shang summoned Qingying, held it in his right hand, and unleashed a sword aura, directly slashing at the vines.
When the vine was touched by the sword energy, it was instantly cut into several sections and fell to the ground. Green sap seeped out from the cleanly cut parts of the vine, dripping down like blood.
Ye Shang's attack seemed to have angered the vines, and in the next moment, countless vines came rushing towards them.
It stabbed wildly, but Ye Shang's sword energy was not to be underestimated. Once it was swung out, it cut down pieces of broken vines.
Qingli also has many attacks. His special ability is quite unique, similar to copying. During his time at the base, he copied many useful abilities, and his attack methods are also endless.
His superpowers weren't limited to just this one; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to hold the position of captain. His brain was working at lightning speed. "Attack its head. Deep underground, there seems to be a huge plant head there."
His eyes glowed blue, and when he looked over, he saw the true form of the vines through the ground—they were actually man-eating plants.
