Chapter Seven: Hunting Wild Boars

Chapter Seven: Hunting Wild Boars

Lin Baozhu was so frightened that she closed her eyes tightly. When she opened them again, she found herself standing on a vast expanse of black land. Not far away, on the cement ground, were all sorts of things she had collected during the apocalypse.

Previously, her special ability could only store inanimate objects, and people couldn't enter. Now, after absorbing the energy of the jade pendant, not only can people enter, but she can even raise livestock inside. Waaah, with this, she'll never have to worry about eating meat again.

Looking down at her, I saw a spring bubbling up water, which flowed along the ditches around the black soil.

but……

Many of the things in her space far exceed the production levels of today.

Even though the Lin family seems to care for her now, she doesn't dare to take it out easily!

The main fear is being treated like a monster and taken in for research.

She needed to come up with a way to eat meat openly and improve the Lin family's meals.

According to my memory, the mountains behind Dageba Village stretch for hundreds of miles from east to west. They are rich in medicinal herbs and also contain many animals, such as pheasants, rabbits, wild boars, wild goats, deer, and black bears.

Thinking of this, Lin Baozhu flashed out of the space...

She carried a machete in her hand and a basket on her back, striding towards the back of the mountain. It was the busy farming season, and even the older children had to go to the fields to weed, so she didn't see anyone along the way.

Upon arriving at the foot of the mountain, we found many children carrying sickles and baskets, bending over and searching for something on the ground. However, due to the severe drought, it was truly difficult to find any wild vegetables.

"Auntie, where are you going with that basket on your back?"

The girl she was talking to was the granddaughter of the brigade leader, Lin Sanmei, who was seven years old this year, while the three-year-old girl she was holding hands with was her younger sister, Lin Wumei.

The two little girls were dressed in clothes patched upon patched, and their faces were sallow, clearly indicating malnutrition.

"Go up the mountain and see what you're doing cutting these weeds, Third Sister."

Lin Sanmei wiped the sweat from her face and said, "Fifth Sister's shoes are broken. Mother said there's no money to buy new ones, so I cut some grass to dry and weave straw sandals for her. Aunt, my father said there have been wild boars around lately, so you'd better not go. I just dug up some sow thistle, I'll give it to you."

He then began rummaging through a pile of weeds...

Lin Baozhu glanced at Lin Si Mei's shoe, which only had half a sole left, and stared at it in astonishment.

It seems this village is truly poor; people are starving and cold. Many families have seven or eight children, but in the end, only two or three survive.

"Third sister is amazing! She can weave straw sandals at such a young age and take care of her younger sister."

He then took out two White Rabbit candies from his pocket and gave one to each of them.

In her previous life, she struggled for twenty years during the apocalypse. Due to the harsh living conditions, almost no cubs were born in her base.

Seeing these cubs now fills her with affection.

"Auntie, this is too expensive. You should keep it for yourself. My sister and I don't like it."

If her grandfather finds out she ate her aunt's candy, she'll get a beating.

Seeing that the two sisters clearly wanted to eat but dared not take it, Lin Baozhu unwrapped the candy and stuffed it into their mouths, saying with a smile, "This is a reward for Third Sister for taking care of her younger sister."

As she spoke, she couldn't resist ruffling the little girl's head, only to find it sticky and smelly.

Lin Baozhu: ...

He silently rubbed his hand against the little girl and said, "Alright, you can continue cutting grass. I'm going up the mountain."

"Auntie, here's some shepherd's purse for you. Wash it and dip it in soybean paste; it won't taste so bitter."

Lin Baozhu looked at the small bunch of leafy greens, her lips twitching.

She likes to eat meat, but not grass! But she couldn't refuse what the little girl offered. Oh well, the little girl didn't want to take advantage, so she'd accept it. At worst, her third brother could eat it; with his size, he'd gain weight no matter what he ate.

Lin Sanmei scratched her head as she watched Lin Baozhu's departing figure.

My aunt seems to be losing out by trading sow thistle for sugar, but that's all she can give...

Her father used to tell her stories about how one could repay a great debt of gratitude with one's own body.

Hmm!

Her aunt gave her and her sister candy to satisfy their cravings. From then on, she and her sister belonged to her aunt. If her aunt was bullied, she, as her aunt's number one lackey, had to set a good example for her younger siblings. That way, maybe her aunt would take all of them in, and then her aunt would give them candy again.

In a little while, I'll take my younger brother to Bi Yuntao's house and poop in his rice.

Lin Baozhu glanced at the sky. It seemed that it would be impossible to hunt large prey today, but she could catch a few pheasants and rabbits to temporarily improve the family's meals, mainly because she was also craving them.

Twenty years after the apocalypse, she had long since eaten up all the meat and eggs she had collected in her space. At most, she could only eat a ham to satisfy her cravings on ordinary days.

Along the way, she collected all the pheasants and rabbits she encountered into her space. Pheasants can lay eggs, and rabbits are very prolific breeders. Now that there are no natural predators in the space, she believes that it won't be long before rabbits become rampant!

Just then, a series of grunting sounds came from not far away. Lin Baozhu's ears twitched slightly; the sound was like a pig squealing.

Before the apocalypse in her past life, she ate farmed wild boar. The meat was of lower quality than that of domestic pigs, but if cooked well, it could still taste quite good.

Let's use these to satisfy our hunger today.

Thinking of this, she gripped the wood-chopping knife and quietly...

As Mimi approached, she gently parted the grass and saw two huge wild boars on the other side engaging in the most primal activity.

The one at the very top weighs at least 500 pounds, and the ones below it weigh about 300 or 400 pounds.

Lin Baozhu picked up a stone from the ground and hurled it hard at the wild boar...

When the stone hit the wild boar's exposed chrysanthemum

As the flowers bloomed, the wild boar let out a miserable cry and climbed off its mother. Its beady eyes looked around, and when they met Lin Baozhu's, who was hiding in the grass, its beady eyes widened even more. Then, with a roar, it charged towards Lin Baozhu with its two huge tusks.

Damn it, it finally got the right to mate with Xiao Mei today, but before it could even poke around a couple of times, it got hit in the butt by these two-legged beasts. It felt like its intestines were going to burst.

The culprit, however, had a smug, punchable grin on his face.

Lin Baozhu turned and ran as soon as she saw the wild boar charging towards her. There was a big tree not far ahead of her...

"Wow, little pig, are you the smallest-breasted pig in your herd? The sow under you doesn't even react at all, what a disgrace to pigs."

"Hey, don't chase me! You'll never have me in this lifetime. There's no future for us."

"Huffing and puffing."

You two-legged creature, if I don't pierce your belly today, I'll never get to sleep with a sow again.

Seeing the enraged wild boar, Lin Baozhu made a daring movement, leaping over the large tree. The wild boar tried to hide the moment it saw the tree, but it was too late...

"Bang!"

With a loud crash, a tree as thick as a man's thigh was snapped in half, its massive canopy falling to the ground, stirring up a flurry of dead leaves and birds.

The wild boar's head was so badly injured that it could barely stand. Seeing this, Lin Baozhu drew her machete from her waist, sprang up, and shouted as she stabbed the boar's neck several times with the machete, instantly splattering blood all over her.

The wild boar let out a miserable cry, collapsed to the ground, twitched a few times, and then fell silent.

Looking at the enormous creature at her feet, Lin Baozhu worried that it wasn't quite dead, so she stabbed it in the belly a few more times.

After confirming that the pig was completely dead, Lin Baozhu turned to look for the sow that had just been slept with. She had a large space within her, and in order to eat more meat in the future, she planned to keep some wild animals in her space.

When she wants to eat, she goes for a walk in the mountains and brings out the animals she wants to eat from her space.

Who will doubt it then?

Originally intending to help the male wild boar deal with Lin Baozhu's sow, the sow turned tail and ran away squealing after witnessing Lin Baozhu's ferocity!

Waaaaah, it will never dare to do anything behind the baby's father's back again, it's just too scary!!

As Lin Baozhu watched herself getting closer and closer to the sow, she made a final lunge, grabbing the wild boar's hind legs with both hands. Then, with a flash of her mind, the wild boar vanished from her grasp.

Lin Baozhu turned back to the wild boar, picked it up with one hand, and placed it on her back basket.

It's not that she doesn't use her spatial ability, but if she puts the wild boar in her spatial ability, how will she take the boar out if she encounters someone on the road?

Life is tough for everyone these days. If someone wants to eat some meat, all the neighbors will be watching. She doesn't dare to take the risk, so it's better to keep the pork out in the open.

Lin Baozhu carried the wild boar on her back and huffed and puffed as she walked down the mountain.

With this wild boar, the Lin family's life will improve considerably.

Braised pork belly, braised pig's trotters, stir-fried pig's stomach.

Shasha.

When we reached the halfway point of the mountain, a loud howling sound suddenly came from the side.

Immediately afterwards, a tall man covered in blood rushed out of the woods. When he saw Lin Baozhu, he froze for a moment, then ran towards her, grabbed her hand and said, "The bear is coming! Run!"
