The scene was briefly out of control when the bell suddenly rang again. Hearing the bell, the people gradually calmed down. The captain quickly walked up to the stage. He had rung the bell as soon as he saw Gu Nanxun come on stage, and now he rushed up to the stage and chased Gu Nanxun off.
"Alright, that's enough for today! I believe these two people will reflect on their actions and become useful members of society."
The Red Guards were still a little dissatisfied with what the brigade leader said. Then the brigade leader said to them in a low voice, "We can't continue like this. If we continue, someone will die. Another woman standing next to the older woman said with a teasing expression.
"Nonsense, I only threw clods of dirt, they won't hurt them. If you hadn't thrown any, do you think those Red Guards would have let them off the hook? It might have been even worse. Damn it, I don't even know who threw the stones."
The old woman rolled her eyes and said disdainfully, "This isn't the first time something like this has happened. They know what to do, and they know their limits. But even in the best pot of porridge, there's bound to be a few bad apples, which is disgusting."

Another elderly woman standing next to them said with dissatisfaction, "I finally got to vent my anger today. I've been holding it in for a while now."
"Alright, everyone, stop talking. The Red Guards aren't gone yet. Be careful what you say."
Seeing that the crowd's voices were getting louder and louder, an older man quickly spoke up.
"..."
"Nanxun, are you alright? Were you hurt just now?"
As Lin Qing walked with the others, she asked Gu Nanxun, who had just arrived, while her eyes kept glancing at him.
"Yes, Nanxun, are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Hearing Lin Qing's words, Lin Yunfeng asked nervously, his voice tinged with gratitude. He was truly grateful to Gu Nanxun for stepping forward just now. If it weren't for Gu Nanxun's intervention, his grandparents would have suffered even more! He also saw that the brigade leader only rang the bell after Gu Nanxun went on stage.

Seeing that Lin Qing was worried about him, Gu Ranxun held Lin Qing's hand and said.
Lin Qing and Lin Yunfeng were in a hurry to get home, so they didn't notice that a young man carrying a bundle was silently observing them.
Gu Nanxun glanced in the direction of the young man, their eyes met briefly, but he said nothing. He then turned back and continued walking home with Lin Qing.
The young man followed Lin Qing and the others until they opened the gate and entered the courtyard. Gu Nanxun did not follow them in but stood at the gate waiting. Sure enough, he soon saw the young man walking towards him.
"You must be Gu Nanxun!" the young man said with certainty.
"Second brother, hello, I am Gu Nanxun." Gu Nanxun smiled and said to the young man in front of him.
"Brother Nanxun, why aren't you coming in yet?" Lin Qing asked as she came out again when she saw that Gu Nanxun hadn't followed her in.
Before Gu Nanxun stood a young man carrying a bundle. The young man was tall and upright, about 1.85 meters tall. He wore a summer military uniform, which was somewhat worn but very clean. His face had distinct features, yet it gave Lin Qing a sense of familiarity.
Lin Qing stared wide-eyed at the young man before her.
"How come you don't even recognize your second brother after all these years?"
The young man opened his arms and teased Lin Qing.
"Second Brother!" Lin Qing suddenly shouted and rushed into her second brother's open arms.
"Alright, Second Brother has come from afar, he must be tired. Let's go inside first." Gu Nanxun looked at Lin Qing, who was hugging her Second Brother, and subtly pulled Lin Qing out of her Second Brother's arms, and invited her Second Brother into the courtyard.
Lin Changyuan smiled and glanced at Gu Nanxun, said nothing, and followed him into the courtyard.
"Second Brother, what brings you here?" Lin Yunfeng saw Lin Changyuan as soon as he entered the courtyard and said to him with a surprised look.

When Lin Changyuan mentioned his maternal grandparents, Lin Yunfeng's smile faded again.

"Alright, don't worry, I had Zhao Chen go check on them secretly. With Zhao Chen there, everything will be fine. We'll go see Grandpa and Grandma after dark, and we'll also take the things you prepared to them." Seeing Lin Qing's worry, Gu Nanxun comforted her.
