Su Ruobai smiled and pushed him away: "What are you thinking? Your daughter is probably only about the size of a bean right now!"
Xiao Yichen raised an eyebrow, somewhat disbelieving: "So small, really?"
Su Ruobai pushed the person away and lowered her head to read.
He turned a page of the book in his hand and replied without looking up, "How much bigger do you want it to be? It's only been a short time; it will grow slowly!"
Xiao Yichen wiped his hands, sat down next to Su Ruobai, and gently placed one hand on his wife's belly.
In a gentle tone: "Then let's eat more, eat some good food, that way we'll grow faster!"
Upon hearing this, Su Ruobai closed the book.
She turned around and looked at Xiao Yichen seriously: "Do you know that it's very dangerous for a woman to give birth when the baby is too big?"
Xiao Yichen also realized that he might have said something wrong.
He quickly tried to salvage the situation, apologizing sincerely: "I know, I'm sorry, honey, I know I was wrong. Let's control ourselves, let's eat well, eat a little less, is that alright?"
Su Ruobai: "That's more like it!"
Reopening the book, Su Ruobai turned to Xiao Yichen and said, "Why are you so free since you came back? You stay home every day. Don't you go out and catch up with your friends and comrades?"
Xiao Yichen had just taken a few large shrimp crisps out of his pocket when he heard Su Ruobai's words and paused.
He lowered his head slightly.
His facial expression froze for a moment.
He composed himself and said earnestly, "I just want to spend more time with you!"
