Chapter 169 Split Off and Defeat

"roar--"

Just then, a loud roar came from ahead, as loud as thunder, which was awe-inspiring.

Upon hearing the familiar cry of the armored boar, a surge of excitement welled up within everyone. They quickened their pace, eagerly hurrying forward.

After a rapid trek of ten minutes, they finally reached a mountain ridge.

The sight before them took them by surprise: lying on the ground was a huge armored boar, weighing over a thousand pounds and resembling a small hill.

The surrounding ground was a mess, as if a fierce battle had taken place.

The armored boar was covered in wounds, its fur stained crimson with blood. Clearly, the armored boar had lost its life.

The crowd gathered around, their eyes gleaming with excitement and surprise.

They knew that the Steel-Armored Boar was a powerful and ferocious monster, and that killing such a giant beast would require immense strength and courage.

They began to speculate about who possessed such abilities to defeat this terrifying armored boar.

Some people began searching for clues, hoping to find any trace left by the killer.

They carefully observed their surroundings, not missing a single detail. However, apart from the bloodstains and broken vegetation, there were no other obvious traces.

"This kid is quite strong. This is equivalent to a late-stage eighth-rank steel-armored boar. I didn't expect him to kill it so quickly."

"He only collected the most valuable tusks, but the carcass of this armored boar is a bargain for us."

"Okay, Big Bear, move the Armored Boar out and stand guard next to the vehicle until we come out to meet up." Qi Fei thought for a moment; the flesh and blood of the Armored Boar were worth over 100,000 yuan, so they couldn't be wasted.

They continued their journey, constantly exploring this mysterious realm. Along the way, they were astonished to discover the corpses of many wild beasts.

Most of these corpses were at the mid-to-late stage of the eighth rank, with only one corpse at the peak of the eighth rank.

Chen Feng demonstrated his decisiveness and experience by only collecting the most valuable parts, leaving the rest of the body to them.

Qi Fei began arranging for personnel to transport the beast carcasses back to base, dispatching a total of four people. After delivering the carcasses to the designated location, they were instructed to return and rejoin the main force.

Because the route for transporting the body was behind the main group, there wasn't much risk. However, as time went on, the situation became increasingly strange.

After two hours of advancing, no further traces of Chen Feng were found ahead.

Qi Fei suddenly realized that none of the four warriors he had sent to deliver the beast corpses had returned!

This made him uneasy. He had thought it would be a simple task, but now an unexpected situation had arisen.

Qi Fei was filled with doubt and worry. He didn't know what had happened to the four martial artists, or why they hadn't returned as planned.

Qi Fei was startled, his expression changing drastically: "This is bad! Chen Feng may have discovered us. He's using this as a diversionary tactic. Da Xiong and the others are in danger!"

Upon hearing this, everyone's expression changed, and they all turned to look at Qi Fei. Qi Fei's face was full of anxiety, and his eyes were full of worry.

Qi Fei suddenly stood up and shouted, "Let's go!"

After saying that, he quickly turned around and led everyone away from the mountain.

No one dared to hesitate and followed closely in Qi Fei's footsteps, running out together.

They sped along and soon returned to a place several miles away.

However, before they could catch their breath, a strong smell of blood assaulted their nostrils.

Everyone's hearts sank, and they immediately looked in the direction from which the smell was coming, only to see four corpses lying in a valley.

Upon closer inspection, they recognized the four martial artists who had separated from them earlier.

Everyone felt a pang of sorrow upon seeing the tragic scene before them.

The atmosphere became extremely tense. Everyone held weapons and looked around warily, fearing that another enemy might appear.

"Chen Feng, come out here! I know you did it!"

Qi Fei was furious, his hair standing on end, and his voice was like a booming bell, echoing throughout the entire valley.

He stared wide-eyed, intently scanning his surroundings, searching for the figure hidden in the shadows.

Meanwhile, Qi Xiang gripped his longsword tightly, his palms soaked with sweat, his eyes filled with fear and vigilance as he constantly looked around, afraid that something might suddenly emerge from the darkness.

However, the only sounds in the surrounding mountains and forests were the howling wind and the roars of various wild beasts in the distance; there were no other sounds.

This place felt like a world cut off from the rest of the world, making people feel incredibly lonely and helpless.

Qi Fei's roar echoed through the silent forest, but no one responded.

Qi Xiang couldn't help but ask, "Brother, could it be that Chen Feng didn't do it? Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe it was someone else..."

Qi Fei interrupted him, saying coldly, "Who else could it be but him? Chen Feng must have discovered the people we sent to follow him, so he deliberately led us into these mountains."

He must be trying to get revenge on us by making us lose our way here. Hmph, that cunning fellow, I won't let him get away with this!

After saying that, Qi Fei shouted again, hoping to get a response from Chen Feng. But the surroundings remained dead silent, and no one answered them.

Upon hearing this, Qi Xiang immediately became as anxious as an ant on a hot pan: "What should we do? He's hiding in the shadows. If he doesn't show himself, are we just supposed to wait here like this?"

And what if he's already killed Big Bear and the others and escaped?
