Chapter 344 Another World (Part 8)

Despite being blinded, Liu Nian calmly threw out the magic in her hand.

With no threat to his health and no physical abnormalities, Liu Nian reached up to touch his head, trying to figure out what was obstructing his vision.

Hairy and soft, that was his first reaction; thankfully, he hadn't been blinded by a spell, that was his second reaction.

As my mind relaxed, I felt a weight on my head, and a feeling of suffocation came over me.

Perhaps it was Liu Nian's sudden touch that startled it, and it clung to her even tighter.

The feeling of suffocation grew stronger, and at the same time, a feeling of hunger came over me.

Fortunately, this situation did not last long. Realizing that the commander was threatened, the terrifying knight who rushed in from the side directly cleaved the monster coiled above Liu Niantou away with a single slash.

The sudden attack splattered blood all over Liu Nian's face, leaving him looking quite disheveled.

He couldn't care less about any of that right now; he was panting heavily.

What puzzled him was that the magic shield was still firmly protecting him, so why did all the monsters seem to have a cheat code and ignore its defensive effect?

Furthermore, a drawback of the magical breastplate was unexpectedly discovered: it could not function without being damaged.

What kind of strange monster is this?

Liu Nian's curiosity was piqued, and he completely forgot the lesson he had just learned, looking in the direction where the demon had been cleaved away.

Not far away, a black and white ball of fur, about the size of a yoga ball, appeared in front of Liu Nian.

It has a pair of big, bright eyes that sparkle like fluorescent fruit. When it opens its mouth, you can see that the inside of its mouth is purple and it has no teeth.

Blood was constantly oozing from its mouth, clearly indicating that it had been seriously injured by the Dread Knight.

Liu Nian used information gathering to discover that this was a creature called a Sucker. Its combat power was lower than that of a monkey, but its jumping ability was much stronger than that of a monkey, allowing it to approach its target silently.

If it weren't for the large number of summoned creatures he possessed, and instead the players were completely unprepared, Liu Nian wouldn't even dare to imagine what the outcome would be.

Once entangled by the terrifying knight, it had no chance to bother Liu Nian again and was chased away several feet away.

No offense intended, but the sucker has no limbs; its entire body appears to be a single, spherical mass.

While it was in motion, Pudge waited for the right moment, reaching out with his hooked hands to precisely strike the sipping creature in motion.

The eater seemed to know that disaster was imminent, and desperately twisted its body in an attempt to break free from the restraints of those merciless iron hands.

But Pudge didn't give it a chance to back out. The two were vastly different in size, and Pudge opened its big mouth and swallowed it whole.

The sounds of chewing and screams rang out simultaneously, along with the sound of Liu Nian gaining experience points in his mind, confirming the news of the eater's death.

With its threat gone, Liu Nian breathed a sigh of relief and looked ahead at the monkey head, where the battle to defend Flower Fruit Mountain was drawing to a close.

These rascals throw everything around and only know how to pollute the environment. Can't they learn from the golden monkeys next door?

Their unique attack methods deeply shocked Liu Nian, so for his own mental well-being, Liu Nian set the building on fire with a torch to prevent new monkeys from spawning later.

Watching the monkey den, resembling a Buddha's head, burn fiercely in the fire, Liu Nian finally felt relieved and continued his exploration after eliminating any potential future problems.

Not far along, the terrain changed again, and the entire floor was covered with pebbles, which looked very luxurious.

The lights ahead were bright. Liu Nian blinked in disbelief before realizing that this was not a hallucination.

Not daring to approach rashly, Liu Nian's unease returned, sensing something strange about the area.

Unlike other places that were pitch black, there were even special floor lamps placed there, illuminating the area as bright as day, making even the patterns on the floor clearly visible.

Liu Nian's refusal to step forward did not mean that the trouble had passed him by.

Unfortunately, Liu Nian underestimated the eeriness of this area, and the tremor returned.

Another earthquake? Isn't this happening a bit too frequently?

Just as a sense of unease began to rise within him, he saw countless shadowy figures constantly converging and taking shape in the ground lamps, cracks, and even the ruined sculptures ahead.

The sheer number of shadow monsters sent chills down Liu Nian's spine; if they got close, not even a god could save him.

Unfortunately, the earthquake rendered Liu Nian unable to move, making it difficult for him to even stand, let alone escape.

The shadow monsters ignored Liu Nian's predicament. The earthquake had no effect on them. They came stepping through the void with every step, as if they had their own tracking ability, and attacked Liu Nian.

Knowing what it meant to be hit by such a large number of shadow monsters at the same time, Liu Nian barely managed to stand up straight and began to cast a group slow spell, while his mind raced with calculations.

The last earthquake lasted for more than a minute, which meant he had to ensure that the shadow monster couldn't get close for more than a minute.

The other summoned creatures are of no help; their physical strength or attacks are insufficient to even delay the Shadow Creature.

The Shadow Monster appears to be completely immune to physical attacks; only elemental attacks will work.

Even with his equipment, Liu Nian only has 600 HP. If he is hit by six shadow monsters at the same time, he will die completely.

Never before had Liu Nianqiang felt so vulnerable. He mustered his strength to deal with the shadow monster that was constantly approaching him.

When they were eight steps away from Liu Nian, Tiffany, along with the other skeleton mages, began to unleash their power, and a cloud of death enveloped a large number of shadow monsters.

Unfortunately, unlike other monsters, shadow monsters will immediately teleport to another location after being attacked.

After its disintegrated body reassembled, it continued to attack Liu Nian.

Liu Nian's Slow Technique finished its countdown and was successfully released. The Stone Demon, who had been sitting on the sidelines for a long time, stood beside Liu Nian, silently releasing its light and heat.

The double deceleration effect is obvious, and the speed of approaching shadow monsters decreases again and again.

As Liu Nian struggled to retreat, he continued to unleash bone spear attacks on the approaching shadow monsters.

Bone spears belong to bone magic, which is roughly considered dark magic, so they can hit shadow monsters.

But the shadow monsters seemed endless. Several times, after being attacked, the shadow monsters regrouped around Liu Nian and opened their mouths to bite him.

There was absolutely no way to avoid it, and Liu Nian could only take the blow head-on.

Fortunately, the vampires' life drain was also a form of magic. They directly extracted life points from the shadow monsters and transferred them to Liu Nian, which prevented Liu Nian from being constantly worried that he might accidentally kill himself.

At crucial moments, they still had to rely on the mage army led by Tiffany, who repeatedly repelled the harassment from other shadow monsters.

However, the randomly assembled shadow monsters had no pattern whatsoever, and Liu Nian still took many hits.

After narrowly surviving several waves of attacks, the earthquake finally stopped.

To Liu Nian's astonishment, all the Shadow Monsters turned to dust the instant the earthquake stopped, leaving only a pile of Nightmare Fuel cards on the ground.

The constant buzzing of experience points in his mind filled Liu Nian with both surprise and joy; these were experience points earned at the cost of his life.

After confirming there was no danger, Liu Nian sat down on the ground and started eating the Devilsaur Ribs, hoping to regain some health; these Shadow Monsters had almost killed him.

Hopefully, this ruin will yield some good items; otherwise, I can't afford to go through all this trouble.

After eating and drinking his fill, Liu Nian dusted himself off and headed towards the ruins ahead.
