Chapter 264 Escorting Goods (Fifteen)

The guards were skeptical when they saw Liu Nian turn the car around and prepare to leave.

Unfortunately, Liu Nian said no more, as he couldn't tell his guards that he had ravens helping him investigate.

He trusted the ravens' judgment; they had spotted dangers ahead of time on several occasions and saved him from trouble.

Not knowing who was lying in ambush ahead, he didn't leave rashly. If the ambushing enemies were no match for the guards, they could still set off together.

Seeing Liu Nian's seemingly genuine face, the guard realized the matter was of great importance and that he was not capable of making a judgment. Therefore, he chose to hurry over and report to the captain.

After seeing the guard leave, Liu Nian parked the car and used his consciousness to envelop the raven that had given the warning.

In the woods, Rasga Ironfist lay in ambush on one side, waiting for its prey to arrive, while Galada Roar on the other side was part of another group it had encountered on its hunt.

The two teams together numbered over thirty people, and the two orc captains quickly reached a consensus to participate in the hunt together.

Dust billowed from the road ahead, indicating that a large amount of food was being delivered. Iron Fist watched the lead vehicle with excitement.

Those skinny humans had just hunted a group of them, and their warriors were utterly no match for them, not even as good as the goblins.

Behind it was a group of newly grown orc cubs. Once they survived the winter, they would become qualified orc warriors.

It was this group of newly-adult orcs who wiped out the hunting party that had just been in the village.

On the other hand, the Roaring Squad was even more elite, consisting entirely of young orcs, with Roaring himself and his two lieutenants being orc berserkers.

The two groups waited on either side for the food that was about to be delivered.

To their surprise, the convoy stopped some distance from the encirclement.

Then two men who looked like scouts rode up on a motorcycle.

...

The rear guard hurried toward the central column, where his superior was.

After reporting Liu Nian's words, the leader stared at the dense forest in front of him without saying a word.

"Who said that?" With no signs of an ambush, the captain turned around and stared intently at the brothers at the rear.

If he didn't know that the brother in front of him wasn't someone who spoke carelessly, he would have thought it was some kind of prank.

So, just to be on the safe side, he decided to ask for clarification.

"Liu Nian, that one-eyed mage," said the quick-witted Liu, who was bringing up the rear.

"It was him?"

He knew Liu Nian; he was a one-eyed mage, a tough guy who could survive a nighttime monster attack all by himself.

People who can survive such extreme conditions are truly remarkable!

If it's him, then it's still credible!

Besides, he was a mage, so it's understandable that he had some inexplicable skills.

I once witnessed a mage who could see through a thief's invisibility.

The captain calmly analyzed the pros and cons and finally made a decision.

"Tell the guys behind to come over, and don't cause a commotion," the captain calmly ordered.

"Yes," Xiao Liu replied seriously.

"Big Fool, go ahead and tell the brothers to stop and regroup!"

"Yes." Upon hearing this, the man called Big Fool rode off from the group on his motorcycle.

The captain then went to inform their employer and other mercenary leaders that something big was about to happen.

This is a very serious matter, one that could make even that man want to leave!

The employer was easy to talk to; the team leader and his men were the ones responsible for protecting their safety, and they had full authority to make these kinds of decisions.

Concerned for their own safety, the other caravan leaders reacted swiftly, quickly gathering their accompanying guards together. At this point, the caravan came to a complete stop and began to slowly turn around and leave.

If this were a battlefield, they would need to ensure their own safety.

The best way is to stay away from the battlefield!

Two scouts were sent to explore the dense forest ahead, while the guards began to assemble.

"Damn it, we've been exposed!" The two experienced orc leaders realized this as they saw the convoy slowly retreating.

After exchanging a glance, the two decided to abandon their ambush and dashed out of the woods.

A group of orc youths followed behind them, charging forward in a cacophony of roars.

The two scouts on motorcycles, seeing this group of strangely dressed people, knew something was wrong and turned their motorcycles around to return to their own camp.

Unfortunately, the orcs were very fast runners, and the two were very close together.

The whistling wind sounded behind them, and the scout instinctively turned around to look.

Finally, a thick wooden stick came into view from afar!

The headshot attack instantly smashed the scout's head, like a bursting watermelon.

Another scout was not spared either, his spine was broken by a young orc.

The captain of the guard saw that the scout ahead was killed in one move by the enemy, and he knew that he had met his match today.

No negotiation, just killing people directly, it seems there's no way to resolve this peacefully? The captain calmly directed his team to set up a defensive formation.

The rest of the caravan guards are on their way here, as they have been scattered in different places and it will take time to gather them together.

The merchants behind the guards were terrified when they saw the other party kill someone without warning. Especially when the other party got closer and they saw his fierce face, they panicked even more and desperately urged the driver to turn back.

The road was originally wide, and everyone could have made their way out if they walked in an orderly manner.

In the rush, a large truck stalled in the middle of the road, completely blocking the road.

The honking, urging, and cursing from all around made the driver even more anxious. In desperation, he jerked the steering wheel, causing the truck to overturn and completely block the road.

The road was lined with trees on both sides, making it impossible for other vehicles to pass.

The truck was too heavy; even a strongman couldn't move it an inch.

The goods that fell off the truck also triggered a looting frenzy among others. The merchant, who only suffered minor injuries, begged the crowd to have mercy, but to little avail.

The situation became delicate. Some of the trapped merchants tried to rescue the man, while others kept praying that the guards could hold off the group of green-skinned murderers. Meanwhile, many more people were scrambling for the poor merchant.

Unfortunately, the driver could not be saved. Only some lightly equipped businessmen crossed the woods, intending to return to the village to rent a car.

The rest of the people had most of their belongings here and had no intention of leaving; losing their goods would mean death for them.

The traffic jam prevented the middle and rear guards from arriving in time, so they had to abandon their vehicles and rush through the woods on both sides to provide support.

Back on the battlefield, the orcs had already rushed to the front guard formation, and both sides could clearly see the killing intent in each other's eyes.

The shield guard gripped his shield tightly, ready to meet the opponent's charge.

The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder; a battle was imminent.

The orcs launched the first attack, taking advantage of their physical strength.

One by one, they brandished their weapons and crashed into the enemy's dense shields.

Their thinking is simplistic: find the weak link and then tear it apart.

You may look down on their intelligence, but don't doubt their fighting instincts.

They're like honey badger, they start fighting from birth, they're either fighting or on their way to fight.

A collision unfolded directly in front of them, followed by close-quarters combat.
