Chapter 148: The Disappearance of the Knight King, Application to the Magic Academy Failed

After Martin finished explaining the relevant matters, he came to the newly built library with some anticipation.

As soon as I stepped into the library, I saw a dozen scholars immersed in their work. Some of them were concentrating on translating ancient magic books, some were carefully arranging the pages, and others were earnestly copying the barely recognizable contents from the damaged books.

On the bookshelf, magic books and various books were neatly arranged, creating a strong academic atmosphere. Seeing this, Martin couldn't help but nodded with satisfaction.

At this moment, an old scholar with a bald head noticed Martin. He put down his work, tiptoed over, bowed slightly, and whispered, "Good afternoon, Lord. I wonder what brings you to the library?"

Martin also lowered his voice and responded, "I came here to find out what happened thousands of years ago and see if there are any relevant records in these books."

The bald old scholar thought for a moment and then said, "My Lord, we have indeed translated some content. Unfortunately, the book is incomplete, so we have only sorted out a little information."

Upon hearing this, Martin immediately said, "Then bring it here for me to see." The old scholar took the order and hurried away.

Not long after, the bald old scholar came back carefully with some papers.

As he handed them to Martin, he warned him seriously, "My Lord, these papers must not be folded or soiled. The knowledge contained on them is invaluable, and you must not write on them."

After hearing this, Martin couldn't help but smile bitterly. This old scholar was really meticulous. However, it was people like him who were serious and responsible in their work and made people feel at ease.

So Martin smiled and nodded, then signaled the old scholar to leave.

Martin took the paper and tiptoed to a desk. When he sat down, he was particularly careful about his movements, trying not to make too much noise to avoid disturbing other scholars.

After sitting down, he began to carefully examine the information in his hand with curiosity and anticipation.

Martin unfolded the papers. The contents were simple. It roughly described a time in the distant past when this continent was dominated by three great empires: the Elven Empire, the British Empire, and the Dark Empire.

However, for unknown reasons, the Knight King of the British Empire mysteriously disappeared along with his twelve Knights of the Round Table. The Dark Empire, alerted to this, immediately launched an attack on the British Empire...

Martin continued to read with great interest, but found that the paper had reached the end and the content stopped abruptly.

"Just gone like that? Really gone? This is so frustrating." Martin muttered in a low voice.

Then, Martin turned his head slightly and whispered to the maid behind him, asking her to call the bald old scholar from before.

After a while, the old scholar hurried over. Martin pointed to a few pieces of paper on the table and asked softly, "Is there anything else?"

The bald old scholar shook his head helplessly, indicating that only these parts had been translated so far, and the other parts were still being compiled intensively. Many sentences were incomplete and difficult to interpret coherently.

After hearing this, Martin did not show much emotion on his face, but he was somewhat disappointed in his heart. He gestured to the old scholar to leave with an expressionless face.

Martin walked out of the library, beckoned over the housekeeper, Lilith, and asked solemnly, "Have all the scholars signed the confidentiality agreements?"

Lilith nodded quickly and replied affirmatively, "Young Master, don't worry. These scholars signed several top-level confidentiality agreements before they arrived. They are very strict and won't give anyone the opportunity to exploit any loopholes."

Martin pondered for a moment and then instructed, "Arrange for their families to live in the outer fort so they don't have to worry about anything. The knowledge involved here is extremely important, and there must be no mistakes."

Housekeeper Lilith replied respectfully, "Yes, young master." After giving these instructions, Martin returned to his study to continue dealing with the unfinished matters.

In this way, Martin was busy and focused for half an hour. Then he paused for a moment, took the flower tea brought by the maid and took a sip.

Just as he was about to devote himself to work again, a space crack appeared in the study without warning. With a flash of light, a man and a woman stepped out. They were Eric and Shuang Ning.

After the two appeared, they immediately saluted Martin with upright postures and shouted in unison: "Loyalty!"

Martin nodded slightly in response, and then said to Eric: "Wait a minute, take me to this place."

As he spoke, he walked over to the map and pointed to a location on it. Eric walked over, took a closer look, and nodded in understanding.

Seeing this, Martin asked the two of them to go down and rest first, and he turned back to the table to continue correcting the documents.

After Martin finished reviewing the documents, he stretched and turned to the maid behind him and said, "Go and inform your other four sisters and ask them to get ready. I want to go to the garden to listen to music, watch dancing, and relax."

Upon hearing this, the maid bowed gracefully and replied softly, "Yes, young master." Then she turned and left.

Afterwards, Martin organized the documents in an orderly manner, picked up the communication crystal, informed Yoder of the relevant matters, and then walked towards the garden.

On the way, Martin's communication crystal lit up twice in succession, and the prompt tone was particularly clear in the quiet corridor.

He picked it up and saw that one message was from Yoder and the other was from Duke Merlin.

After reading the news from Duke Merlin, Martin realized that building a magic academy was fraught with difficulties, with the biggest obstacle being the royal family's disapproval.

Martin had a blank expression on his face as he silently put away the communication crystal. Although he felt a little angry, he did not show it too much.

Soon, Martin came to the garden.

The quintuplets were already prepared, with exquisite makeup and gorgeous clothes. When Martin took his seat, they smiled at each other and then started dancing, with melodious music playing at the right time.

Martin was immersed in this wonderful audio-visual feast, and the boredom that had been accumulating in his heart due to numerous affairs gradually dissipated.

Before we knew it, night fell.

Martin looked up at the sky, waved his hand gently to signal the quintuplets to stop, and said, "Okay, let's prepare dinner."

When Martin sat down to eat, he found that Beilin and the others were not there. He couldn't help but feel curious and asked, "Lilith, where did Beilin and the others go?"

Lilith, who was standing by ready to be sent to, heard Martin's call and hurried forward, answering respectfully, "Master, Miss Beilin, Master Wayne, and Master Derry are currently touring Yulong City. We've already sent someone to notify them."

Martin nodded after hearing this, and after thinking for a moment, he said, "From now on, when they travel, arrange for more guards to accompany them to ensure their safety. In addition, there will be no limit on the supply of cultivation potions."

Lilith nodded quickly and then returned to her original position, standing quietly, ready to serve Martin at any time.
