Chapter 159: Earl White's Dilemma, Going to the Auction House

Martin heard it, thought for a moment and said, "No, let's go directly."

After saying that, he led the group straight towards Courtyard No. 3.

However, things did not go as Martin wished. Earl White, contrary to his usual behavior, directly refused to meet with him.

Martin immediately realized that there must be something hidden, and he subconsciously turned his gaze to Eric.

Eric understood what he meant and immediately activated his sensing ability. He soon found out that there were three people in the courtyard, one man and two women, but they were not dangerous.

He then whispered this information to Martin.

After hearing this, Martin fell into deep thought. After a moment, he took out the communication crystal, edited a message and sent it out.

Seeing that Martin didn't seem to have anything to do, Marquis Roderick said, "There's an auction coming up soon. It's specially prepared for this New Year's Eve dinner. I heard there will be a lot of weird and wonderful things at the auction. How about it, Martin, do you want to join in the fun?"

After hearing this, Martin first looked at the closed door of Courtyard No. 3, then looked down at the communication crystal in his hand. After weighing the pros and cons, he nodded in agreement.

Then, the group turned and walked towards the auction house.

At this moment, the atmosphere in Courtyard No. 3 was particularly depressing.

Earl White sat upright in a chair with a serious expression, and in front of him stood Princess Avril and Marquis Anlie.

Avril was already quite interested in Martin, especially the legendary dragon knight under his command, which made her want to spy on him.

However, Earl White flatly refused Martin's request for an audience, which instantly infuriated her. With a scowl on her face, she questioned Earl White, "White, have you forgotten how I supported you step by step in becoming an Earl? How I helped you become the Legion Commander and even gave you the S-Class Life Potion? Do you think that just because you saved my life, you can forget about repaying all these favors?"

Upon hearing this, Earl White's expression froze. He immediately knelt on one knee and said respectfully and firmly, "Your Highness, I am deeply grateful for your training. But I cannot let my son be involved in this matter."

Marquis Anli, standing by, quickly advised, "White, things aren't as complicated as you think. You only need to have your son's dragon knights show up at the crucial moment. There's no need for them to take action."

However, Earl White just remained silent, slowly lowered his head, and said nothing.

Seeing this, Avril snorted angrily and kicked Earl White fiercely.

Earl White staggered after being kicked, but Avril ignored him and turned and left.

Marquis Anli looked at Earl White helplessly and said, "Think about it carefully." After that, he also left the courtyard.

After the two of them left, Earl White seemed to lose all his strength in an instant, and collapsed to the ground like a deflated ball.

He just lay on the ground, his eyes fixed on the ceiling, muttering to himself: "Debt of gratitude, debt of gratitude..."

It seemed as if these three words carried the endless helplessness and entanglement in his heart.

Martin and his group soon arrived at the auction house. The leading attendant, with sharp eyes, spotted the nobles arriving and immediately stepped forward with a broad smile, saying respectfully, "Noble sir, please come in."

Having said that, he enthusiastically led Martin and his group in.

After entering the auction house, Martin was really surprised. He didn't expect to meet an acquaintance here, and it was his fiancée Reina.

Count Carlos also saw his daughter, who was now looking at the items to be auctioned with great interest along with a group of people.

Count Carlos called out to Reina, who then turned around and saw Martin and his group. Reina's friends also noticed them.

Count Carlos then called Reina over and asked her to accompany Martin for a walk.

Seeing this, Marquis Roderick was very tactful and left with Count Carlos to wander around other parts of the auction house.

However, Reina's friends had no sense of propriety. When they saw the two leaving, they surrounded them directly.

One of the boys looked at Martin with a look full of hostility. Martin noticed it keenly and asked bluntly, "Why? Do you have any objections to me?"

When Reina heard this, she looked at Martin and asked, "Martin, what's wrong?"

Martin responded: "Nothing, just someone doesn't like me."

Reina quickly said, "Martin, I'm your fiancée. I won't do anything out of line. Please rest assured."

Martin didn't react much to this. At this moment, Betan, who was behind him, saw this situation and was ready to take action, but Martin raised his hand to stop him.

In Martin's opinion, this was just a child's trick and he didn't take the boy seriously at all.

Afterwards, Martin was about to take Reina somewhere else to hang out. Seeing this, the boy challenged her directly, "Let's fight one-on-one."

After hearing this, Martin turned to Reina and asked, "Which family is he from?"

Reina thought for a moment, then told him directly without hiding anything: "It's the Earl's family in the Western Territory."

Martin nodded and asked Reina to leave with him. Reina said goodbye to her friends and followed Martin.

Only the boy was left looking at Martin's departing back with hatred.

After a brief stroll, the auction house's scheduled time for the sale finally arrived. Led by his attendant, Martin arrived at a private room with a superb view, offering an unobstructed view of the entire auction site.

After Martin and his group were seated, the auction officially began after a while.

At this time, a charming figure walked onto the auction platform. It turned out to be a half-orc from the fox tribe.
