Chapter 25: Buying Armor, the Impending Crisis of the Sword Oath City

At noon, Martin and Del Luna returned to the Sword Oath City. Lacking magical props to conceal their faces, Martin first had everyone stay in the valley to familiarize themselves with their powers.

After a few days of careful rest and taking medicine on time, the Earl's complexion has improved greatly and he can move around freely.

Some knights who were less seriously injured are now safe and sound under the careful care of the pharmacist and have successfully returned to the Knights Templar.

The Earl walked to the quarters of the seriously injured knights and offered his condolences to each one. Seeing the Earl in person, the knights struggled to stand up and greet them, but the Earl dissuaded them one by one.

The Earl turned to the pharmacists and asked, "Are there enough healing potions at the moment?" The leading pharmacist replied respectfully, "Your Excellency, the current healing potions are barely enough to keep us going, but most of the knights here can't even walk without at least two weeks of recuperation.

As for the knights whose limbs were severed, even if they were healed, they would likely find it difficult to remain in the Order. The Earl solemnly declared, "Do your best to treat them; there's no need to worry." With that, he left the room under the respectful and grateful gazes of the knights. He then inspected the city's defenses, confirming they were in good working order, before returning to his study to attend to his complicated affairs.

After returning to the city, Martin went straight to the Emerald Chamber of Commerce. The entrance of the Chamber of Commerce was deserted, and compared with the bustling scene in the past, it seemed that business was very bleak.

He walked into the Chamber of Commerce and told his clerk to ask the person in charge, saying that he had a big deal to discuss. When the clerk saw that it was Martin, he immediately ran to inform him.

After a while, a young girl emerged, completely different from the previous person in charge. She was about fifteen or sixteen, with a delicate face and a gentle smile. She sauntered over to Martin, and instantly, a delicate fragrance lingered in his nose, and Martin subconsciously sniffed it.

The girl noticed this action and her face flushed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure and said softly, "Master Martin, I heard that you have a big business. I wonder what it is?" Then Martin reported the quantity of food, daily necessities, gorgeous clothes and other supplies in detail one by one.

After hearing this, the girl couldn't help but feel a little puzzled. These supplies seemed somewhat similar to those looted by the orcs recently. So she asked, "Master Martin, do you have any armor or potions? Our Chamber of Commerce is willing to purchase them at a premium."

To be honest, in a few days, the Emerald Chamber of Commerce and other chambers of commerce plan to temporarily evacuate the Sword Oath City. After all, the war here has raged, and business and transportation have been greatly affected."

Martin nodded and said he could sell some armor and potions for a reasonable price. He then asked the girl about the price of these supplies, and she immediately called over the person in charge to evaluate them together.

After careful estimation, the two of them concluded the price of the supplies was approximately 21,080 gold coins and 78 silver coins. The girl readily rounded up the price and quoted a total of 21,010 gold coins. Martin, upon hearing what the girl said, paused and asked, "Do you have any A-grade knight armor?" The girl frowned slightly, then paused for a moment before replying, "Currently, we only have one A-grade knight armor in our warehouse. It's the treasure of our Jade Chamber of Commerce branch and is extremely valuable. If Master Martin truly desires it, he can take it away for just 50,000 gold coins."

Martin considered it in his mind. Although the price was not low, the A-grade knight armor was hard to find. He couldn't wear it even if he bought it without gold. After some consideration, he decided to sell a small portion of the upgraded armor and potions he had.

After a careful evaluation, the manager and the girl came up with a reasonable price. Adding the gold coins from the previous transaction, Martin's wealth not only didn't decrease, but actually increased by over 10,000 gold coins.

Martin was buying such expensive armor, so how could he miss the opportunity to bargain? He looked at the girl with a smile on his face and said, "For such a big deal, can you give me a discount?" The girl looked thoughtful for a moment, then responded readily, "In consideration of Master Martin's long-term cooperation with our Chamber of Commerce, I'll give you a 10% discount."

Martin wanted to bargain with the girl again to see if the price could be lowered, but the girl said that 10% off was already the lowest and it would not sell at any lower price. Seeing this, Martin did not force it, and the two parties successfully completed the payment and goods transfer.

Seeing that the transaction was completed, the girl handed over the follow-up matters to the person in charge and turned into the inner room.

Martin was full of curiosity and couldn't help asking the person in charge: "Who was that girl just now?" The person in charge hesitated for a moment, looked up at Martin, and finally spoke: "That was the third daughter of the president of our Emerald Chamber of Commerce, named Adele Hyde. The president had decided before that we should temporarily evacuate the Sword Oath City, so he specially sent the third daughter here to sort out the account books and clean up the piled up goods. After finishing these, we will return in the next two days." The person in charge told Martin about the girl in great detail. After listening, Martin seemed to be thinking about it, and then he left the Chamber of Commerce accompanied by the person in charge.

After coming out, he visited several other guilds. After a long journey, he finally managed to collect two more A-level knight armors and three sets of B-level magic props, Thousand Faces. For these equipment, he spent all his gold coins, even potions and armor were exchanged for gold coins. In the end, only a dozen silver coins were left in his pocket.

After finishing his work, Martin returned to the castle and went straight to the stable. He picked out a strong wildebeest, rode out of the city, and under the protection of Druna, galloped towards the valley where the three people were.
