Chapter 502: Jack is ridiculed, and the four superior forces discuss

Jack returned to his room and got a glass of water when several voices rang out, "I told you Jack would be back."

"Nonsense, I know that too, because I saw Xiao Feng following him."

"What a good captain! He left us and ran away, but he didn't even make it."

I heard a few low voices talking behind me, the teasing in the tone almost overflowing.

He paused and suddenly pressed the switch on the wall. Cold white light instantly filled the room - and he saw several people sitting in a disorderly manner on the sofa in the corner and on the floor.

It was none other than his most unruly confidants on the ship. Even Gibbs was huddled in the corner of the sofa, holding half a compressed biscuit in his hand.

"Oh, they're all here."

Jack took a sip of water slowly, put the cup on the table, and glanced at everyone.

"Why are you coming to my place instead of taking a rest in your own room? There's no woman here."

"Let me be clear, there are no such rules on the Black Pearl. We especially don't welcome a group of grown men blocking the door. It would make me suspect that you are trying to hijack the ship while I sleep."

"Captain, we are worried about you."

A tall and thin crew member spoke with a stifled laugh.

"After all, someone almost reached the starport exit just now."

"That's right. Fortunately, Captain Sao Feng is keeping a close eye on it."

The other crew member who took over the conversation was secretly kicked by Gibbs, but he still couldn't help but add a sentence.

"Otherwise, we'd probably have to change our name to 'The Unowned Pearl'."

Suddenly, the room was filled with suppressed laughter, and even Gibbs turned his face away, his shoulders shaking slightly.

Jack remained calm, reached out and grabbed the energy bar on the table and threw it over.

"If you've had enough of laughing, go back to your own territory. You still have to attend the battle briefing tomorrow morning. If anyone dares to be late, they will be punished by cleaning the dust from the main gun barrel."

As soon as these words were spoken, the crew members immediately scattered like birds and beasts, and did not forget to wink at him as they passed by the door.

Gibbs was walking at the end. After a moment's hesitation, he spoke up: "Captain, actually... people aren't really laughing at you."

"I know."

Jack interrupted him and walked to the window to look at the void outside the starport, where the corpses were still floating slowly.

"They were just afraid that I would really abandon them and run away."

Gibbs was stunned for a moment, and seeing that his back rarely had that playful vibe, he said nothing more and closed the door gently.

The room became quiet again, and Jack curled his lips at the darkness outside the window - run?

Of course he wanted to run away, but the Black Pearl's sails, besides the skull, also had the names of these bastards embroidered on them.

Jack sighed, tidied up briefly, and fell asleep.

The dome of the conference hall reflected the faint light of the star map. The leaders of the four major forces sat in a circle, and the air was filled with tense silence.

The God of Light slammed his palm onto the alloy tabletop. The runes vibrated, and the holy light around him almost dissipated. "The Matrix Galaxy and the Distant Realm have yet to respond!"

"Once the crisis is over, we will definitely carve up the territories of these two cowards and make up for our losses!"

The three people at the table—the Father of Giants, the Holy Lord of Excalibur Mountain, and the old wizard—none of them objected, and their silence was a silent agreement.

The war has reached this point, and no one is qualified to talk about the word "mercy" anymore.

"Put this matter aside for now."

The Father of Giants spoke in a deep voice, his stone skin gleaming coldly in the light.

"The most urgent task is to plug the cosmic rift deep within the ruins. That is the source of the incessant influx of invaders. If we don't plug it, today's respite will only lead to a greater collapse tomorrow."

These words struck everyone's heart like a heavy hammer, and the anger of the God of Light subsided slightly.

His fingertips traced a three-dimensional projection of a crack on the table. "But who can go deep into the ruins? There are star-level main forces of the invaders entrenched there. I'm afraid they will be torn apart as soon as they get close."

The meeting room fell into silence again.

Everyone knew what it meant to go deep into the rift - it was like entering a dangerous place, carrying out a suicide mission under the eyes of billions of invaders.

The Giant Father glanced at the three of them and finally said in a deep voice: "Each of the four families will send out three star cluster-level experts, carrying the rule props and charging forward."

"The rest of you abandon your defenses and push forward with all your might, drawing all the invaders' attention to the front battlefield."

As the words fell, even the breathing seemed to freeze.

The old wizard's black robe swayed slightly, and his voice carried a chilling shadow: "How is this any different from committing suicide?"

"Although the rule props can seal off space, the spatial turbulence deep within the ruins is enough to crush a star cluster-level body."

“But other than that, there’s no other way.”

The Giant Father raised his hand and placed it on the badge on his chest, his eyes showing no sign of wavering.

"Take a gamble now, or wait to be killed by the monsters pouring out of the cracks."

The scepter of the God of Light turned half a circle in his palm, and the divine crystal on the top of the scepter reflected the struggle surging in his eyes.

Finally, a deep silence fell. "From the Gods' Plane, we are willing to release three main gods." As the words fell, the holy light around him shone slightly.

An almost inaudible sigh came from under the old wizard's black robe.

He raised his hand and stroked the shadow runes on his sleeve. "This matter concerns the survival of the plane, so the wizard plane must do its best. However, the selection of candidates needs to be discussed with those old fellows. I will give you a reply within three days."

The sword spirit at the fingertips of the Holy Lord of Divine Sword Mountain suddenly shrank and turned into four miniature swords, floating in the palm of his hand.

“I can’t make the decision regarding the Xuanhuang Realm. I need to go back and discuss this with the Holy Lords of other Holy Lands.

The Giant Father's stone face was expressionless. He simply nodded slowly, "Yes. But remember, we don't have much time left."

He raised his hand and pointed at the star map in the center of the conference room. The scarlet area representing the rift in the universe was expanding at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"Every day of delay will widen the rift a little, and the invaders will receive more reinforcements."

When the God of Light stood up, the sound of his scepter hitting the ground echoed clearly. "Meet here in three days."

After saying this, the holy light around him surged, and he transformed into a stream of light and disappeared in the conference hall.

Except for the Giant Father, the representatives of the other two forces sighed and left.

As everyone left, the light in the conference room seemed to become a little dimmer.

They all knew that those strong men who were about to step into the ruins would most likely never come back.

However, the corpses of the Trading Star Realm are still floating, and the shadow of death has never left - some sacrifices are ultimately unavoidable.
