Outside Ruifeng County.
Three thousand barbarian soldiers from the Chini tribe arrived in a dusty state. Every village they passed through was barren and they robbed everything they needed to rob.
At this moment, these barbarians were in high spirits. Although they did not rob anything valuable, at least they had meat to eat, and filling their stomachs was the most important thing. They also harvested some seeds, and as long as they went back and planted them, they could survive the famine.
They burned, killed, looted and committed all kinds of evil outside, but when they returned, they were heroes of the tribe, objects of worship for young men and admired by women.
"Ruifeng County is ahead. If there is a large amount of food, we can go back to our tribe after looting it. We are well fed outside, but our tribe members are still hungry."
"Also, if you encounter a woman again, don't kill her. Bring her back to your tribe as a slave."
Chi Wushu spoke loudly, and the other barbarians shouted as well. The skin of the women of Jing Dynasty was much softer than those rough old women in their tribe. It would be a great pleasure to take some of them back as slaves.
Soon, the Chini tribe approached the county town. They thought they would encounter fierce resistance, but found that the entire county town was extremely quiet.
And the door was still open.
Chi Wushu was a little suspicious. What was going on?
Could it be the empty city plan? He had heard from the elders before that before Dajing was unified, an extremely powerful figure emerged in Yizhou.
He beat the warriors of each tribe until they cried for their parents. This man was good at using strategies. He once used the empty city plan to capture the tribal chiefs and forced their tribes to surrender.
Chi Wushu listened to the story with great interest and remembered the plan. At this moment, when he saw the gate of Ruifeng County was wide open and there was no one on the city wall, he unconsciously thought of the empty city plan.
But now that we’re here, we can’t just not go in because of our own associations.
"Wutumeng, take someone in to take a look, be careful."
After thinking about it, Chi Wushu decided to send someone to investigate.
Wutu Meng led a team of barbarians and approached cautiously, then entered the city gate. After waiting for a while, Wutu Meng poked his head out of the city gate and shouted, "Chief, there is no ambush, and there seems to be no one in the city."
Chi Wushu frowned. Could it really be an empty city?
"Go in."
When the barbarian soldiers entered, they found Ruifeng County in deathly silence.
The streets were deserted, with only a few yellow leaves swirling in the wind. The doors of some shops were hanging crookedly, revealing the collapsed shelves inside.
Chi Wushu quickly entered the house next door and saw that the house was in a mess, with things scattered all over the floor. There were also a few packages in the corner with some worn-out clothes inside, which were obviously what the owner did not have time to take away.
Chi Wushu went to several other houses and saw signs of hasty escape. It was obvious that they knew they were coming and had all run away.
"Search! Search carefully!" Chi Wushu roared, "I don't believe there is no one!"
Suddenly, the three thousand barbarian soldiers dispersed.
Chi Wuzhu and his personal guards went straight to the county granary.
Bang!
The door of the granary was kicked open by the barbarians, and it was empty inside. Chi Wushu was furious, because the granary in Ruifeng County was not even as good as those in the villages they had looted.
At least in those villages we could still find some grass roots and tree barks, but here there is nothing.
Afterwards, Chi Wushu went to Ping'an Lane and kicked open the door of the nobles' mansion, but still gained nothing.
Chi Wushu looked unhappy and a little regretful.
If I had known earlier, I would not have wasted time in those villages. Instead, I should have gone straight to the county town. This way, I might have been able to intercept a lot of good stuff.
“Chief!”
A barbarian soldier came running over and said excitedly: "We found the person."
Chi Wushu's eyes lit up and he hurried over.
In a cellar, more than a hundred elderly people were huddled and shivering. These people were old, had difficulty walking, and did not want to be a burden to their children, so they hid here together.
I thought it was secret enough, but I didn't expect it to be found anyway.
At this moment, these old men looked at the ferocious barbarians with despair in their eyes.
"Bring them all out."
Soon, hundreds of elderly people were dragged out of the cellar.
"Tell me? Where did the people in the county go? Where is the food hidden?"
The old men just shivered and did not answer.
Seeing this, Chi Wushu said coldly: "You don't want to tell me? If you don't want to tell me, then let's see which one is harder, your words or my sword."
After a gesture, a barbarian soldier came out carrying an old man and cut off five of the man's fingers with one knife.
"ah!"
The old man screamed and fainted.
The barbarians brought out another old woman and chopped off her fingers as well.
"Say it or not, say it or not."
He chopped more than ten people in a row. The shrill and hoarse screams echoed, the smell of blood filled the air, and the broken fingers were shocking to see.
Under this severe torture, the remaining elderly people could no longer bear it.
When another old man was carried out, he was extremely terrified and said, "I said... I said..."
"They...they all went to the fort, and took the food with them."
"Fortress?" Chi Wushu narrowed his eyes, grabbed the old man by the collar, and asked fiercely, "Where is it?"
The old man pointed outside the city tremblingly: "In... in the west..."
Chi Wushu pushed the old man aside, turned around and shouted to the barbarians: "My men! The food and women are in the fort! Follow me and kill them!"
“Kill, kill, kill!”
A group of barbarians shouted and came to the county town in high spirits. They originally thought they could rob people, but they found it was an empty city and their efforts were in vain.
Now that they knew where the food was, they could just rob it and go home. Thinking that they would be treated like heroes when they returned to their tribe, these barbarians could not wait.
