It's best if she doesn't listen.
Good advice is useless when it comes to a damned devil.
Yu Yao didn't want to say another word to Mu Hehe. She led the two educated youths three miles to the cornfield, demonstrated the techniques for weeding, and then assigned areas for each person to weed.
Mu Hehe was already starting to regret it.
There were so many mosquitoes and insects along the way; her exposed arms and legs were covered in bites and were incredibly itchy.
Not to mention the weeds and branches along the way, which made her hair messy and her clothes torn, leaving her in a terrible state.
She noticed that Yu Yao had taken an extra long-sleeved jacket, and just as she was about to ask Yu Yao to lend her one, she asked.
"It's mine, I need it, I won't lend it."
Chi Xianglan, another educated youth who came with Mu Hehe, frowned.
"Comrade Yu, you have extra, why can't you lend it to Hehe? We'll just use it for a bit and return it to you when we're done."
"I can borrow my things if I want, and I won't if I don't want to."
“How can you say that, comrade? We are here to support rural development and help your rural areas. The leader also said that everyone in the revolutionary ranks should care for, cherish, and help each other.”
You're trying to quote the leader's words to her, aren't you?
After reading so many historical novels, who doesn't know a couple of quotes?
Yu Yao retorted directly, "The leader also said that we should learn from Comrade Lei Feng, treat comrades with the warmth of spring, and treat enemies with the cruelty of winter."
“My attitude is always directed at people.” Yu Yao glanced at Chi Xianglan and Mu Hehe. “Sorry, you two are not included.”
Chi Xianglan didn't understand and asked, "What do you mean?"
"That's right, you didn't understand."
Yu Yao glanced between Mu Hehe and Chi Xianglan, revealing an innocent smile.
"Since you feel so sorry for her, why don't you give her yours?"
After saying that, Yu Yao covered her face with her thin jacket, tied the sleeves behind her head, and walked away.
Just kidding, she used this as a face mask, how could she possibly give it to Mu Hehe? She was fully armed to avoid being cut by corn leaves.
When she was a child, she was cut by corn leaves in the countryside. It was incredibly painful; the red welts burned and splattered with sweat, making her feel terribly uncomfortable.
She chose a cornfield furthest from Mu Hehe. It was secluded and deserted, and most importantly, the wind blowing from Baihe Brigade happened to pass by, making it cool.
After working for more than an hour, Yu Yao was covered in sweat.
The little food she ate at noon wasn't filling at all. She sat down, using the corn stalks, which were taller than a person, to block out the sun, and took out a boiled egg to eat.
Just then, she heard light footsteps coming from the edge of the cornfield not far from her.
Everyone is working, and this place is so remote, who would come here?
Yu Yao was about to go out to take a look when she heard the voice of the person who came in and stopped.
