Chapter 172 The Broken Feelings of a Restless Male Adult

As the meal drew to a close, the guests gradually left.

Lu Ze was drunk and slumped on the table, unconscious. His neck, ears, and face were all red.

Yu Defu wiped the sweat from his forehead, thinking to himself that soldiers are indeed different; their alcohol tolerance is amazing.

He almost got drunk by Lu Ze after drinking the diluted liquor. Although he wasn't drunk now, he felt dizzy and unwell.

Wang Dajiao tried calling out to Commander Lu a few times, but when Lu Ze didn't respond, she helped him up and said to Yu Defu, "Uncle, let me help him back to his room to rest."

Yu Defu waved his hand, unable to even speak.

Apart from a few people with different surnames, everyone else in Wangjia Brigade was a member of the Wang family. Before liberation, the Wang clan was the island's fishing tycoon, owning the most fishing boats and houses on the island. Nearly one-third of the island's fishermen had to rent fishing boats from the Wang family.

Later, when the People's Liberation Army liberated the southern island, Wang Xiahe's grandfather held a two-day, one-night meeting with the Wang family. After the meeting, he led the Wang family to join the People's Liberation Army, not only handing over most of their family property but also asking the clansmen to assist the People's Liberation Army.

Although the clansmen are not as wealthy as before, their conditions are much better than other fishing brigades on the island. The brigade not only has its own collective mutual aid group, but also most of the clansmen have either gone to work in factories or joined the army.

Wang Xiahe's family was protected by her grandfather and lived in the Wang family's former stone house, which was a two-courtyard house.

Despite years of wind and rain, it looks dilapidated, but even a lean camel is bigger than a horse; it is simple yet grand inside.

It's clear that Wang Xiahe's grandfather was a shrewd and resourceful man, but unfortunately, wealth doesn't last three generations. By Wang Xiahe's generation, only this house was valuable.

After Granny Wang dragged Yu Yao to the side room, Lu Ze was also sent into the house by Wang Dajiao.

Wang Dajiao was unfamiliar with the Wang family's residence and had a terrible sense of direction, so she wandered around the house for a long time before finally finding the place her aunt, Wang Xiahe, had described.

Looking at the huge mansion, his eyes were filled with greed, but he only thought about it.

Just then, Granny Wang came out of one of the rooms.

Granny Wang pointed to the room, then to a potted plant by the door, "Son, the person is inside. Remember this potted plant, don't go to the wrong place later."

Wang Dajiao nodded, indicating that she had remembered. She first escorted Lu Ze to the designated room, and then went to report back to Wang Xiahe.

No sooner had he left than Lu Ze, who was lying unconscious on the bed, suddenly opened his eyes. His slightly reddened eyes scanned the surroundings, and following the location where the two had been talking, he quickly found Yu Yao's room.

Lu Ze's gaze fell on the flowers and plants by the door, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.

A moment later, he returned and knocked on Yu Yao's door.

At the same time, Wan Xiaozhen finished her meal and went back to her room to get ready. She waited until it got dark before sneaking into the room she had arranged in advance, quietly opening the door, and climbing into bed in the dark.

"Why is no one here? Haven't they come yet?" she muttered to herself, then took off her clothes, leaving only her thin underwear, and lay down on the bed.

The room where Yu Yao was.

She heard a knock on the door but didn't answer.

She knew about the conversation between Granny Wang and her son outside, but she thought it was Wang Dajiao testing her and didn't respond.

His eyes scanned the room in the dim moonlight, finally settling on the vase on the cabinet.

She cleaned out the vase and stood behind the door, holding it in her arms.

As soon as Wang Dajiao walks in, she's guaranteed to smash his head with bumps.

As soon as the door was pushed open, Yu Yao grabbed a vase and threw it, but was stopped halfway by a pair of hot, large hands.

"It's me."

Lu Ze's deep, familiar voice rang out in the darkness as he took the vase from Yu Yao's hand and placed it aside.

"I was so scared! I thought it was that distant relative of the Wang family named Wang Dajiao."

Lu Ze comforted her, "Don't worry, I'm here."

By the moonlight, Yu Yao noticed that something was wrong with him. "Why are your face and neck so red?"

"And why are your hands so hot?" Yu Yao grabbed his arm, several possibilities flashing through her mind. "Were you drugged? Did Yu Defu drug you? I'm going to find him."

Lu Ze pulled her back, "I'm fine. It's just that the wine my father-in-law offered me was too strong, and I'm a little drunk now."

"I knew they had ulterior motives." Yu Defu and Wang Xiahe probably wanted to get her and Lu Ze drunk so they could do whatever they wanted to them.

Wan Xiaozhen isn't unable to get married, so why does she have to lust after married men? That's just a problem with her values.

Lu Ze, afraid she would worry, said gently, "Everything is fine now, don't worry. It's too late, it's not safe to walk at night. Let's make do here for the night and talk about everything tomorrow morning."

Although the islands are frequently patrolled by military personnel, the islands are large, close to the port, and have a diverse population, so there are bound to be areas that cannot be properly looked after.

There were no surveillance cameras back then. If you encountered a criminal, he could injure someone and hide in the mountains, and you wouldn't be able to find him.

Yu Yao nodded. "You're right. Let's rest for the night. Anyway, I've done everything I promised Yu Defu. We'll leave as soon as it's light tomorrow, and we won't have any contact after that."

After saying that, Yu Yao looked at Lu Ze and asked, "How are you feeling now?"

For the first time, Commander Lu, who was known for his incredible patience in front of his soldiers, showed a weak expression, and his voice was slightly hoarse.

"I feel dizzy and unwell. Can I lean on you for a bit?"

This was the first time Yu Yao had ever seen him so vulnerable; he seemed to have a broken, almost abstinent man.

Especially in the dim light, his deep, dark eyes were focused on her, moist from being drunk, with slightly red corners, adding a touch of allure to his sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes, making him hard to resist.

She nodded subconsciously and generously offered her shoulder to her partner.

Lu Ze buried his head in his lover's neck and rubbed against it.
