After leaving the compound, I headed straight for the shipyard's residential compound.
When they arrived home, Yu Yao gave the New Year's gifts to Wu Wanying and Cui Zhizhou.
With a broad smile, Cui Zhizhou pulled out three bulging red envelopes from his pocket and gave one to each of Yu Yao, Lu Ze, and Wu Huaiqing: "These are my New Year's money for you."
"Dad, I'm all grown up now, how can I still accept New Year's money?" Yu Yao refused and wanted to return it to Cui Zhizhou.
Her parents weren't well-off, and they usually gave her gifts and money, so she was too embarrassed to ask for lucky money during the Lunar New Year.
Cui Zhizhou patted Yu Yao's head. "Silly girl, no matter how old you are, you'll always be my daughter. Here, take your New Year's money. When Lu Ze has time later, I'll have him take you to the Guangdong Provincial Department Store to buy things."
