In the afternoon, Yu Yao was busy preparing for the upcoming assessments. Except for the time spent going to the toilet, she didn't waste a single moment and finally managed to set up all the assessment checkpoints before leaving get off work.
"Sister Guo, Brother Zhao, Squad Leader Qin, thank you for working overtime with me."
Brother Zhao smiled and said, "Yu Yao, you're too kind. This is all we should do."
"Comrade Zhao Shengli is right. The factory director said that the new production line is related to the future of the factory, and it is our honor to be able to contribute." The speaker was Qin, the foreman of the meat canning workshop in the main factory.
Yu Yao still had some finishing touches to do, so Zhao Shengli and the others went back first.
When Yu Yao finished her work and came out, the factory's streetlights were already on.
She pushed her bicycle out of the factory, and as soon as she reached the security room, she saw Lu Ze playing chess with the old man in the security room.
The old gatekeeper was holding the horse in his hand, hesitant and uncertain. He was bound to lose no matter where he went. When he saw Yu Yao, he was excited. "Commander Lu, Squad Leader Yu is here. Let's end the game here. It's a tie, two to two, no winner or loser."
The old man was about to lose this round, but Lu Ze didn't care. Winning or losing wasn't important to him.
Feeling guilty, the gatekeeper took out two bunches of lychees from behind his back. "Don't say I'm being dishonest, these are lychees that just came off my lychee tree this year. You and Squad Leader Yu can have some. Let's play chess together again next time."
"Thank you, sir. We'll be going now."
Yu Yao and Lu Ze left the factory. Lu Ze rode his bicycle while Yu Yao sat on the back seat, which was tied with cotton. She ate lychees and talked to Lu Ze.
"The lychees at Grandpa Huang's house are really big and juicy. They were probably picked too early and aren't ripe yet. They taste sweet and sour and are delicious."
Yu Yao peeled one and held it to Lu Ze's lips from behind, saying, "Try it."
Lu Ze lowered his head, put the lychee in his mouth, and said, "It's delicious."
As Yu Yao ate the lychee, she thought of the passion fruit in her yard. "In another half month, our passion fruit should be ready to eat. Has Company Commander Song returned from his mission yet?"
"No. Why are you suddenly asking about him?"
Yu Yao casually said, "You forgot, when we were planting the fruit trees, they helped us dig holes and water them. When the fruit ripens, we'll definitely invite Company Commander Song over to eat some."
"There's still plenty of time, we can make it."
"Oh, right, Mom called me today. Their ferry arrives at the island at six o'clock on the morning of the Lantern Festival. We'll go pick them up together then."

She had memorized the buttons and operations of these machines by following the instruction manual translated by Yin Susu.
There's not much to remember since I haven't had hands-on experience yet, so it's perfectly fine.
Zhu Xinmin rarely spoke up for her: "Let's change the time. Don't be stubborn. We have plenty of time here anyway."
Before Yu Yao could say anything, Duo Hong retorted, "We're here on a mission. Everything we do each day has been planned in advance. How can we change our plans just because of her? She said it's okay, so why are you so worried about her?"
Zhu Xinmin was about to retort when Yu Yao stopped him, saying, "Comrade Xu, don't worry. I've memorized all the buttons and functions of the machine. Today, we just need to practice and verify it, and there won't be any problems."
Xu Xiaohui and Zhu Xinmin were both surprised, "You've memorized all the buttons and operations?"
Yu Yao nodded, "That's right, I've memorized them all. So this time I don't need to spend time memorizing the buttons and operating steps, I just lack practical training."
Xu Xiaohui exclaimed, "You're amazing! You can memorize something you've never encountered before just by reading the instruction manual."
It's not easy to memorize a dozen pages of instructions by rote without understanding the content.

"Whoever jumps up in anger is the one we're talking about." Zhu Xinmin shrugged, walked past Duo Hong, and went into the workshop.
Duo Hong stomped her foot in anger, but accidentally stepped off course and twisted her ankle, causing her face to twitch.
