"What?" Yu Yao didn't hear clearly at first.
Lu Ze asked again, and Yu Yao heard him clearly this time. Although she was a little surprised that he would ask such a question, she still answered his question seriously and truthfully.
"Before I entered the book, I went on a trip to an island. At that time, there were very few swiftlets in our area, and most of them were artificially bred. I went with a tour guide to experience it for a week. That was when I tried it."
Since Lu Ze said he believed her last time, the two of them hadn't discussed the topic of transmigrating into a book again, and Yu Yao thought he had forgotten about it.
Lu Ze lowered his eyes, his gaze dark. "You came from a book, so will you go back?"
The thought of Yu Yao going back in time made Lu Ze's hands, hanging by his sides, tighten involuntarily.
Yu Yao stopped, walked over and took his hand. "Afraid I'll go back?"
Lu Ze did not deny it, and simply hummed in agreement.
For the first time, fear and vulnerability were visible in the eyes of Commander Lu, who was usually calm and composed, even when Mount Tai collapsed before him.
Yu Yao tiptoed and ruffled the slightly longer stray hairs on his forehead: "Silly boy, once you've transmigrated into a book in our world, that's it. Going back isn't that easy. Besides, I died in that world, so why would I go back?"
In that world, the only thing she couldn't bear to part with was her best friend. However, given her best friend's shrewd and resourceful personality, she could live a good life without her.
If they knew I got married here, they might want to come and visit.
Lu Ze's eyes lit up. "You really won't go back?"
"Of course. In this world, I have friends, family, and most importantly, you. How could I bear to leave you?"
At this point, Yu Yao changed the subject, "However, it's not like there's no precedent for going back. Unless..."
"Unless what?"
A sly glint flashed in Yu Yao's eyes. She gently tugged at Lu Ze's collar, pulling him closer, and whispered in his ear:
"Unless Commander Lu tells me what Commander Lei meant by 'signature skill'?"
Lu Ze looked embarrassed and looked away, not daring to look at his lover.
Yu Yao pressed her advantage, blowing a breath into his ear, "Commander Lu, didn't we say we're husband and wife and should be honest with each other? Now you have a secret, are you not planning to tell me?"
Lu Ze couldn't do anything with Yu Yao. "You really want to know?"
Yu Yao nodded emphatically.
Lu Ze glanced at the sky. "Let's eat first, I'll tell you after we eat."
Because she was so eager to know, Yu Yao ate her dinner much faster and finished quickly, then sat down to wait for Lu Ze.
Lu Ze sighed, "Wait for me here." Then he went into the bedroom.
It's been half an hour, why hasn't it come out yet?
Yu Yao peeked into the bedroom, but the door was ajar, so she couldn't see what was inside.
Just as she was getting impatient, Lu Ze's voice came from the bedroom.
"Come in."
