Yu Yao raised her juice and said with a smile, "Qiaoqiao, no, from now on you should call me sister-in-law. Sister-in-law, I wish you and my brother a happy marriage and a long and happy life together."
The others echoed, "Happy wedding, may you be forever united in heart."
Wu Huaiqing and Fang Qiaoqiao toasted everyone, saying, "Thank you all for coming to our wedding."
After toasting everyone else, Wu Huaiqing raised his glass and first thanked both sets of parents, siblings, and relatives for helping to decorate the bridal chamber, then thanked the staff in the canteen for helping to organize the wedding banquet, before finally looking tenderly at Fang Qiaoqiao beside him.
"Qiaoqiao, thank you for not minding my dullness and being willing to marry me. It is my honor to marry you."
The factory workers and Fang Qiaoqiao's brothers cheered, "Our Qiaoqiao is such an outstanding and beautiful woman. It's truly your honor to marry her. You'd better drink this glass."
Everyone burst into laughter.
Wu Huaiqing picked up his wine glass, tilted his head back, and downed it in one gulp.
A chorus of cheers erupted from below, "Well done, groom! But you can't just drink by yourself, you have to drink the nuptial wine with the bride."
"Cross-cupped wine, cross-cupped wine." The children didn't understand what cross-cupped wine meant, but they enjoyed the excitement and clapped along with the adults.
Wu Huaiqing looked at Fang Qiaoqiao with shining eyes, while Fang Qiaoqiao lowered her head shyly.
The two drank the nuptial wine amidst the blessings of the crowd.
Seeing her brother and Qiaoqiao so happy, Yu Yao was overjoyed that they had finally gotten together.
After the toasts, everyone started eating. After the meal, the friends who hadn't seen each other for a long time had a lot to talk about. Wu Wanying and Cui Zhizhou put some melon seeds, peanuts, and candies on the table.
Everyone chatted and ate sunflower seeds at the same time.
Yu Yao was thirsty and wanted to drink honey water, so Lu Ze took a military water bottle and went inside to pour in hot water.
Mu Hehe finally waited until Lu Ze was alone, then made an excuse to follow him.
Lu Yunqi ignored her, his gaze never leaving Yu Yao.
Mu Hehe watched this, her heart growing colder. She went inside and saw Lu Ze stirring water back and forth between two enamel mugs, trying to cool the boiling water down as quickly as possible.
"Uncle, you're so good to Yu Yao, but I wonder if she feels the same way."
Lu Ze turned around and saw her, his brows furrowed, but he ignored her and continued pouring water.
Mu Hehe didn't care and continued, "Uncle, the rumors in the compound before weren't just rumors. Yu Yao isn't carrying your child at all. If you don't believe me, you can go to the military hospital for a checkup. Once you've had a checkup, you'll know I wasn't lying."
