Once you think about it this way, all those illogical parts make sense.
"Lu Ze, has Qin Lamei woken up? She's a victim, and she spent a lot of time with Wang Xiu, so there might be other clues."
Lu Ze shook his head, "Although the person has been rescued, he is still unconscious and it is uncertain when he will wake up."
Just then, Song Yiming's voice came from outside the courtyard, "Commander, the comrades at the hospital just sent word that Comrade Qin has woken up."
Lu Ze stood up. "I'll go right away."
Yu Yao thought for a moment and said, "It's time for your follow-up check-up in the next couple of days, I'll go with you."
Upon arriving at the hospital, Lu Ze first took Yu Yao for a check-up, and only after the check-up was completed did he go to Qin Lamei's ward.
Deputy Regiment Commander Ning was still on a mission outside, and Qin Lamei had no other relatives. Only Wang Xiu and the sister-in-law arranged by the Women's Union were taking care of her in the ward.
Qin Lamei sat on the hospital bed, her lips pale and weak, her mind in a daze, seemingly unable to accept that the baby in her womb was gone.
He doesn't care what the people around him are doing.
Until Lu Ze brought Yu Yao into the ward.
Qin Lamei sat up in bed as if she had seen a lifeline. "Commander Lu, have you caught the murderer who killed me?"
Upon hearing her words, Wang Xiu, who was standing to the side, tensed up uncomfortably.
Originally, she came to inquire about the situation, but now that she knew Qin Lamei hadn't noticed anything amiss, and seeing Lu Ze and Yu Yao arrive, Wang Xiu felt inexplicably guilty, afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would give herself away, so she decided to leave.
She picked up the lunchbox and interrupted Qin Lamei, saying, "Cousin, you two chat first. I'll go back and cook you some nourishing food."
Qin Lamei no longer cares about what she eats; all she wants to know is who spilled the food and who is trying to harm her and her child.
So, he waved dismissively at Wang Xiu, "You go back first."
Wang Xiu breathed a sigh of relief, picked up her things, and walked past Yu Yao without changing her expression. Just as she was about to leave the ward, someone suddenly called out to her.
"Comrade Wang, won't you stay and hear the investigation results? After all, if you hadn't spilled the food, Comrade Qin wouldn't have fallen, would he?"
Wang Xiu's heart skipped a beat. She turned around, her face looking somewhat unnatural. Her gaze fell on Yu Yao, unsure if Yu Yao knew the truth. Her heart was pounding in her throat.
Qin Lamei was unaware that this matter was related to Wang Xiu. "Yu Yao, what do you mean by that? What does this have to do with Xiu'er?"
Yu Yao's lips curled into a mocking smile as she looked at Wang Xiu, "Comrade Wang, aren't you going to explain things to Comrade Qin yourself?"
Qin Lamei's face was grim as she looked at Wang Xiu, "Xiu'er, you tell me, what exactly happened?"
Wang Xiu put the lunchbox on the cabinet, walked to Qin Lamei, and knelt down in front of her with a thud. She then grasped Qin Lamei's hand and began to sob:
"Cousin, I'm so sorry. I twisted my ankle while going up the stairs and accidentally knocked over Sister Xiao's net bag, spilling the food on the ground, which caused you to slip and fall."
Qin Lamei seemed unable to accept that the person who harmed her was Wang Xiu.
Seeing that she didn't speak, Wang Xiu cried even harder and harder, so she simply knelt on the ground and started slapping herself. "It's all my fault! It's all my fault! It's all my fault! I'm the one who hurt my cousin, it's all my fault..."
She slapped him hard; one slap made his face turn red, and after a few slaps, his face swelled up.
Yu Yao felt pain from the loud slaps, but Wang Xiu kept slapping her face as if it were free.
He's a ruthless person.
Seeing Wang Xiu's behavior, Yu Yao became increasingly suspicious that she was the one behind this.
His face is swollen like a pig's head. They really went all out. Who would believe there wasn't something fishy going on?
Qin Lamei couldn't bear it in the end. Even though she harbored resentment towards Wang Xiu, she softened when she saw how remorseful she was. She took her hand and said, "Xiu, stop hitting her. If you keep hitting her, you'll ruin her face."

Hearing Wang Xiu mention the child, Qin Lamei felt a pang of heartache, but she held back her sorrow and said, "Xiuer, this isn't your fault. It was others who did it wrong. Who would be so generous with oil when cooking? If there hadn't been so much oil, I wouldn't have fallen."
At this point, Qin Lamei seemed to have discovered something suspicious and said to Lu Ze, "Commander Lu, you must arrest Xiao Qing immediately. I used to be her neighbor and offended her. She must be deliberately retaliating against me by putting a lot of oil in the food and then framing Xiu'er. Arrest her quickly and avenge my child."
After he said that, the ward fell silent.
Even Wang Xiu forgot to cry, staring blankly at her cousin.
Yu Yao and Lu Ze never expected that Qin Lamei would think that Xiao Qing was the murderer who killed her child.
Qin Lamei, however, felt that her guess was true and demanded that Lu Ze give her justice. "Commander Lu, my husband is the deputy commander of the Third Regiment, your subordinate. Are you just going to let the families of other regiments bully us like this?"
"Comrade Qin, please don't worry. I have already sent people to investigate this matter."
Qin Lamei calmed down, her eyes filled with wariness as she looked at Yu Yao and Lu Ze: "What is it?"
Lu Ze asked Song Yiming to bring the investigation report over and hand it to Qin Lamei.
Qin Lamei took the document and looked at it. Her gaze fell on the final conclusion, and she became agitated instantly. "How could this be an accident? It can't be an accident. It was all Xiao Qing's doing. She didn't have any children herself and was jealous that I was pregnant, so she deliberately harmed me."
Just then, the ward door suddenly swung open, and everyone in the ward looked towards the doorway.
Xiao Qing and her husband, Deputy Regiment Commander Liu, were seen standing at the door carrying various tonics and other items, clearly there to visit Qin Lamei.
