Chapter 437 It's Born!

Yu Yao lay on the bed as she was wheeled toward the delivery room.

Lu Ze and his parents followed her, taking care of her as they walked towards the delivery room.

Yu Yao was covered in sweat; she hadn't even started giving birth yet, but she was already in so much pain that she had no strength left.

It hurt so much, it felt like someone was using pliers to pull her pelvis apart; the pain was indescribable.

"It hurts!" Yu Yao winced in pain, her fingernails digging into her palm.

Lu Ze pried her hand away and let her grab him. "Ayao, if it hurts, grab me. Don't hurt yourself. It's my fault. We won't have any more children."

"Dr. Cai, my wife is in a lot of pain right now. Is there any way to relieve her pain?" Lu Ze asked the doctor, holding Yu Yao's hand.

Dr. Cai glared at him irritably. "Giving birth is painful enough, there's no such thing as painkillers. Commander Lu, you're all outside."

Lu Ze released Yu Yao's hand and watched intently as Yu Yao was wheeled into the delivery room.

The delivery room door was slammed shut, and Lu Ze's heart slammed shut along with it. He stood in front of the delivery room, his eyes fixed on the door with a strange expression.

There were benches in the corridor outside the delivery room, where Wu Wanying, Cui Zhizhou, and Hu Lingyu sat and waited.

Seeing Lu Ze standing blankly outside the delivery room, Wu Wanying went over and pulled him to sit down, gently comforting him, "Don't worry, Zhizhi and the baby will definitely come out safely."

Although she spoke casually, her heart was in her throat; she couldn't relax at all.

She's given birth herself and knows how dangerous childbirth is these days; it's truly risking one's life. If it's like this for others having just one child, imagine how dangerous it is for Zhizhi to have twins. How could she not worry?

Cui Zhizhou, as a father, was in a similar situation. He still vividly remembered the scene of Wu Wanying's difficult childbirth with Zhizhi. His worries were no less than those of Wu Wanying and Hu Lingyu.

But he was a man, and he didn't show his emotions. Even though he was worried, he didn't say it out loud. He just clenched his fists on his knees.

As a result, all four of them sat nervously on the stools, staring intently at the delivery room door.

There was more than one delivery room for Yu Yao. The women who had gone in earlier had already started giving birth, and their families were pacing back and forth outside the delivery rooms.

Not long after, a piercing scream suddenly came from the delivery room.

Wu Wanying's heart skipped a beat, and she was so frightened that she almost fell off the stool, but luckily Hu Lingyu caught her.

Lu Ze was even more nervous than her, and was about to rush into the delivery room when Cui Zhizhou stopped him, saying, "It's not Zhizhi's voice."

Lu Ze was stunned for a moment, and after listening carefully, he realized that it was indeed not A Yao's voice.

He was too nervous to recognize it.

This time he couldn't sit still any longer and stood stiffly outside the delivery room like a statue waiting for his wife.

A short while later, the delivery room door opened, and a pregnant woman was wheeled out. Her husband and family immediately surrounded her.

This was not the first time for this woman. Although she gave birth very quickly, she was in a lot of pain. As soon as she came out and saw her husband, she acted as if she had seen an enemy, grabbed his hair and started cursing.

"It hurts so much! It's all your fault! It's all because of you that I'm in so much pain..."

His strong voice didn't sound like someone who had just given birth.

As soon as the delivery room door was pushed open, Lu Ze rushed to the front of the room, prying at the door to try and see inside. "Nurse, how is my wife? Why can't I hear her voice?"

The nurse rolled her eyes at him. "Commander Lu, the woman in labor just went in. She needs to conserve her energy for childbirth, so she won't have the strength to shout. You can't hear her. Comrade Yu won't be out for a while, so you can wait outside."

As she spoke, she pushed Lu Ze out and slammed the delivery room door shut.

The older woman, who had just given birth, saw that Lu Ze looked haggard and tired, and kindly told him about Yu Yao's situation, "You're the husband of the last woman who was wheeled in, right? Your wife hasn't started giving birth yet, so don't worry."

Lu Ze breathed a sigh of relief and thanked his older sister.

The eldest sister waved her sleeve and nonchalantly let someone push her away.

In the delivery room, Yu Yao was initially able to follow the doctor's advice and conserve her energy, not making any noise.

When she started giving birth, the pain was so intense that she couldn't bear it any longer and joined the other pregnant women in screaming in agony.

"Ah Yao, Ah Yao, don't be afraid, I'm outside."

As Lu Ze listened to Yu Yao's increasingly pitiful screams from outside, his mind went blank, his limbs went weak, and all his strength was drained away by the ever-growing screams.

Ah Yao is such a brave person, someone who would never easily frown no matter how bitter or painful the problem is. How much pain must she be in to scream like that?

Lu Ze felt as if his heart was being gripped tightly by two hands, being torn apart repeatedly.

If he had known that A Yao would be in so much pain, he would never have let her give birth. Now, besides feeling heartache, Lu Ze felt endless regret and guilt.

If he had to choose between Ayao and his child, he would choose Ayao without hesitation.

Whether he has children or not is not important to him; as long as Ayao is by his side, that's enough.

Just then, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor. Wu Huaiqing and Fang Qiaoqiao, having received the news, rushed over and asked anxiously, "How is it? Has Zhizhi given birth yet?"

Wu Wanying glanced worriedly at the delivery room and shook her head, "Not yet."

Time ticked by, and all the pregnant women who went in after Yu Yao had given birth and come out, but Yu Yao still hadn't come out.

At first, Yu Yao's voice could still be heard, but later it disappeared completely, and the entire corridor was deathly silent, as if even the air had frozen.

A sense of tension and anxiety lingered in everyone's hearts. They held their breath, afraid of missing the slightest sound.

But no sound came from the delivery room.
