Chapter 441 The Mantis, the Oriole, the Hunter

Half an hour ago.

Qin Lamei's home.

Wang the fortune teller said with a cold look in her eyes, "Wang Xiu, don't you hate Yu Yao? Now you have a chance to take revenge."

Wang Xiu hesitated for a moment, "What do you want me to do?"

Instead of answering directly, Wang the fortune teller waved to Ma Feng and her so-called lover behind her.

Ma Feng stepped forward, took out a wooden plaque from his pocket, and held it up in front of Wang Xiu.

Granny Wang: "Whether the operation succeeds or not today, we will leave on the smuggling boat behind the mountain. Take this, and you can leave safely. I can also give you the antidote."

Wang Xiu took the wooden plaque and looked at Granny Wang. "Tell me, what do I need to do?"

It was late at night.

Wang Xiu led Granny Wang and the others toward Yu Yao's house. Not seeing Ma Feng and the other man, she said anxiously, "Where are those two? Won't they be exposed?"

The old woman's tone was cold. "They have their own mission. What you need to do now is take me to Yu Yao's house."

Wang Xiu glanced at Granny Wang and felt that she was even more persistent towards Yu Yao's family than Qin Lamei. Qin Lamei was driven by hatred, but what was Granny Wang's motivation?

"You know Yu Yao?"

Granny Wang sneered, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. How much longer?"

"It's just ahead."

It was already past midnight, and everyone in the residential compound was asleep.

They already knew that Yu Yao's family had a dog. Then, Granny Wang took something out of her bosom and threw it towards the doghouse.

Sixteen barked warily twice, and just as it crawled out of its kennel, it was shot with a tranquilizer gun.

He let out two sobs and collapsed to the ground.

Granny Wang nimbly scaled the wall and entered the house, unlike any other rural old woman.

Opening the door, Wang Xiu looked at Yu Yao's room, walked to the window, took out the sleeping potion that Wang the sorceress had given her, and blew it in through the window.

The two waited quietly for five minutes before taking action.

After confirming that Yu Yao was not moving, Granny Wang quietly opened the window and looked at Yu Yao, who was sleeping soundly on the bed, a hint of hatred flashing in her eyes.

"Lu Ze, Yu Yao, you killed my daughter and granddaughter. Today, with new and old grudges added together, I will make you taste the pain of losing your loved ones."

Wang Xiu poured the diesel fuel he had brought outside Yu Yao's room and in the woodshed, ensuring that once the fire started, it would cause even greater chaos.

The old woman didn't take either child away, only the boy, and said to Wang Xiu, "Set it on fire."

Anyway, she was about to leave and would never come back, so Wang Xiu had no qualms. She took out a match, lit it, and threw it out the window.

With a loud bang, the fire immediately burst into flames.

As the fire spread, Wang Xiu's face twisted into a smile: "Yu Yao, weren't you the most smug one? Let's see how smug you are now!"

The firelight illuminated Granny Wang, revealing her hideous face.

Granny Wang disguised the child, and then together with Wang Xiu, they shouted loudly, "Fire! Fire!"

The two ran towards the direction of the patrol, shouting for help.

The two voices were particularly loud in the quiet night, and the people around them, as well as the patrolling soldiers, all rushed over when they heard the noise.

While shouting for help, Wang Xiu and Granny Wang secretly set the fire.

Flames erupted everywhere, and chaos ensued.

The cacophony of exclamations was like a coded signal, alerting certain individuals lurking in the shadows.

Solitary confinement.

Qin Ye also heard the commotion outside and asked his subordinate who had just come in, "What's going on outside?"

"Reporting to Political Commissar and Regiment Commander Qi, the family compound is on fire, and many family members are trapped. Everyone is outside putting out the fire."

Qin Ye and Qi Feng were shocked. "Battalion Commander Zhou, you stay here and watch over things. The rest of you come with me to help put out the fire."

As soon as the two left, the solitary confinement room immediately returned to silence.

Battalion Commander Zhou secretly gave Ma Feng and her husband a wink, and the two immediately cooperated with Battalion Commander Zhou to knock out the guards.

"Comrade Liu, we've come to rescue you. Do you have the blueprints with you?"

"I've put the blueprints in a very safe place. I'll hand them over to the organization once I get out."

Ma Fengchong nodded to Battalion Commander Zhou, who then stepped forward to unlock the handcuffs, quickly changed Liu Chunquan into a military uniform, and led him out of the confinement cell to the secret outpost on the back mountain.

As soon as they left, Qin Ye and Qi Feng emerged from the darkness with their men, their eyes blazing with anger. "Follow them, but don't alert them."

The family compound was in complete chaos.

Grandma Miao was a light sleeper and woke up immediately upon hearing the noise. She put on her clothes and came out. When she saw the firelight, her face changed drastically. She quickly went back inside to wake up Su Meihua and Commander Lei.

Then, fearing that the people around him wouldn't hear, he picked up a rolling pin and an enamel basin and started banging them together.

The sound of the enamel basin broke the silence of the night, waking many people.

"Where is the fire?"

"Several places are on fire, the fire is the biggest over there, it's Commander Lu's house."

"Go quickly and save them!"

A flurry of footsteps echoed through the family compound as people carried buckets and enamel basins of water, hurrying towards Yu Yao's house.

Wu Wanying woke up with a start, choked by the smell of smoke, and rushed out of the room barefoot.

The fire was almost reaching the main room. Wu Wanying disregarded everything else and rushed into the bedroom, shouting, "Zhizhi? Zhizhi? Wake up!"

Yu Yao groggily opened her eyes and found that there was a fire. She told Wu Wanying to hold the child first.

Wu Wanying's gaze fell on the crib, and her expression changed drastically. "Oh no, Zhizhi, An'an is missing."

"What?"

Yu Yao was startled and struggled to get up to go and see, but found herself completely powerless.

She grabbed the scissors from the sewing basket by her bedside and pricked her palm before she had the strength to get up.

Only Ningning was sleeping in the crib. An'an's blanket was thrown on the floor, and there were unfamiliar footprints in the room.
