Chapter 36 "College Students": Who will die tomorrow night?

Chapter 36 "College Students": Who will die tomorrow night?

What time is it, Mr. Wolf?

3 o'clock

The system then emitted a prompt to browse the case files.

A death notice fell on Jane Dieda alone that night.

[Current progress 61%. Tomorrow night, a murder with an unknown victim will occur at the haunted school in Chongli. The host doesn't need to help the victim; please use your imagination and guess who will die tomorrow night?]

Jane Diedda: "..."

Who will die?

What does it mean that he doesn't need to stop it?

Several seconds later, a guess flooded my mind: Could it be that the "My Old Classmate" puzzle has been solved correctly and the meal card storyline from the previous night has been completed, and the college students can start their counterattack?

It turns out that guessing is part of the murder mystery game.

The system replied, "Correct."

"Based on the current academic credits of the five players, the dormitory check game has entered the reversal phase from this moment on."

When the senior asks the wolf what time it is, the new sheep will have a chance to rush out of the sheepfold and kill the wolf in front of them.

Meanwhile, Jian Dieda's answer brought a small reward.

"[Current exploration progress is 66%], the host can obtain a settlement agreement between Li Jinjun's parents and the school, which will help you analyze the real culprit and the course of events behind tomorrow night's death."

"[Congratulations! You have triggered the case testimony, 'Class'.]"

As usual, he didn't rush to defect. Instead, he clicked to read more of Li Jinjun's story. Jian Dieda saw that the school's student report in the school newspaper stated:

...

"Li Jinjun's life goal is to get into Chongli University."

"The first step I took was to get into Chongli, a big city, from Hulanhe County. The second was to overcome my motion sickness and take a 24-hour train ride to report for duty."

"Li Jinjun cried so hard he blew snot bubbles when he was able to walk into the sacred university dormitory with his elderly parents who grew potatoes and beans."

[Will room 404 become the starting point of Li Jinjun's life? He wasn't sure, but on his very first day, Wang Muming snatched away his desired upper bunk.]

"From that day on, Li Jinjun, this country bumpkin, became the target of Wang Muming's bullying on campus. Driven by a desire for convenience among roommates, coupled with the disparity in their family backgrounds, Wang Muming, the city boy, escalated his psychological exploitation of Li Jinjun. He conspired with another roommate, Zhang Shuijun, and the two frequently harassed Li Jinjun, a rural boy. If Li Jinjun didn't write their papers, give them extra tutoring, or sign in for the professor during roll call, his washbasin, kettle, and bedding would immediately be destroyed. This left Li Jinjun with significant psychological trauma; he often cried in his upper bunk late at night, too afraid to tell the department or his family about the situation..."

["That day, Li Jinjun rushed back to the dorm because his girlfriend cheated on him with his roommate. Wang Muming led the mockery, calling him a cuckolded idiot. Zhang Shuijun fanned the flames, saying that the problem between men and women was simply a matter of mutual consent. Jiang Yanrui tried to mediate, but to no avail; the sounds of fighting from room 404 continued to carry into the corridor."]

"A murder has occurred."

"Until a splash of bright red in the darkness pierced through the poor student's dream of going to university to change his fate, and shattered all of Li Jinjun's forbearance and perseverance."

Before Li Jinjun stabbed Wang Muming to death, he wanted to ask, "Wang Muming, you and I are both human beings. You've deliberately bullied me for so long, haven't you ever felt guilty?"

"Then he realized that this was a question only a fool would think about."

[“Wang Muming didn’t treat him like a human being. To his roommate, there was a class difference; he was just a lamb. The bullies would only ever be immersed in the fun the game brought them; the guilt didn’t belong to this high-and-mighty rich kid lying in a pool of blood.”]

...

Suddenly, the door startled Jian Dieda awake from his sleep. He had just finished reading about the criminal history of the haunted school in Chongli when his mind jolted awake. Footsteps were approaching.

Jian Dieda got up from the bed and opened the door. Standing in the light source inside the dormitory room, he looked up and glanced at Yang Xiaohong in surprise. He almost went out of character again.

It's Yang Xiaohong.

The woman was wearing a pink lace-trimmed nightgown, and the person she was supporting was Zhong Jun.

Jane Dieda pressed down on the wall switch with one hand: "..."

Tongzi: "yoooo".

The tube has been quite conspicuous lately.

The owner wants to give it a large sinus.

But it was so late, and Jian Dieda didn't expect Yang Xiaohong to bring people over.

Taking a deep breath, her first instinct was to check if Zhong Jun's hand had touched Yang Xiaohong anywhere.

No.

With an inexplicable sense of relief, Jian Dieda pretended to be nonchalant and suppressed some ripples, but he couldn't believe that Zhong Jun would be like a canine soaked in the rain.

"Wasn't the crisis at the power distribution room just resolved? Why are you out here again?"

Jian Dieda helped shake out the clothes, found the hair tie for his female classmate, and glanced at his senior with concern: "What's wrong with you? What's wrong with him? Why...why did you and him come to find me together?"

Yang Xiaohong took it, her face pale as she tied her hair up with one hand: "You, you listen to me, Zijing, the student council officers are fighting, it's the monster Jiang Yanrui and Senior Zhong."

Out of trust in his female teammate, Jane listened patiently.

Unexpectedly, things took an even stranger turn.

Zhong Jun and senior Jiang Yanrui got into a fight right there in the public teaching building.

They mentioned the Five Elements Murder Case they were investigating tonight, with Zhong Yun being referred to as the murderer by Jiang Yanrui.

"It was Xie Xiaomei who heard the fighting."

Yang Xiaohong recounted what had happened half an hour earlier. She was also terrified. The five of them had just finished a meeting to discuss how to pass the challenge when the girls returned from their shift and heard Zhong Jun's screams. They didn't go out immediately, but Yang Xiaohong mustered up her courage and went downstairs with her old meal card. There, she saw with her own eyes Zhong Jun, his face covered in blood, lying unconscious on the edge of the third floor, constantly calling out Jian Zijin's name.

The strange crying that followed Jiang Yanrui's departure was also witnessed.

Yang Xiaohong remembered the story she saw during the time travel.

“We just found out the identity of this senior, Li Jinjun. Let’s continue investigating. I think this will be the breakthrough to leave here.”

"..."

Jian Dieda glanced at Zhong Yun, his mind connecting the case details to his own, and he agreed with the statement. He then simply pulled his left hand out of his pocket.

"You can leave Senior Zhong to me."

Yang Xiaohong was pleasantly surprised to see the tall young man in front of her take the initiative to lead Zhong Jun away for the first time.

Taking this opportunity, Jian Dieda secretly touched Zhong Xuechang's heart pulse.

Zhong Jun's heart was pounding.

Although it is slow, it exhibits normal human physical characteristics.

Jian Dieda felt a little confused.

Is Zhong Yun a living person or an evil spirit?

Having been rescued by Zhong Yun at great risk not long ago, he felt it was inappropriate to continue exploring the plot.

The reason why Zhong Jun was sent to my side in such a precarious situation is most likely because he was dragged down by what happened in the power room.

Moreover, given the current situation, if Zhong Yun is indeed rescued and turns against Li Jinjun, the truth behind Li Jinjun's death could take a turn, which would be equivalent to an opportunity to turn a teammate against his own side.

But no one would believe it if I told them. The other major reason he finally confessed was the image of the senior who had once confessed his love to his junior leaning on the arms of a junior girl after leaving him.

"Xiao Hong, please help me treat Senior Zhong's wound."

Knowing full well the risks of hiding people in a ghost school, Jian Dieda, despite his cold and uncooperative demeanor as the dorm leader, allowed people into the dormitory.

“Okay, Zijing, I did bring bandages and alcohol.”

They moved very quickly.

After Jian Dieda opened the door and let them through, he cautiously instructed Yang Xiaohong, "Could you please find a rag? We need to go back together and clean up the footprints. We need to be quick, as there are other people watching us at school."

"Um!"

Neither of the two people triggered the hallway's motion control.

The bloodstains were smeared away in the dark, and they quickly risked being arrested by the security guards and the housekeeper to carry Zhong Jun into room 404.

Jian Dieda lives alone. The other beds were not assigned bedding, so naturally, the pillows and blankets on his bed were piled up to accommodate him.

After examining the external injuries, Yang Xiaohong told the two men who remained in room 404 about Zhong Yun's injuries, and that she would come back to check on them the next day. She promised to keep their secret of spending the night together.

As soon as the door opened, Jian Dieda walked to the bedside to look at Zhong Yun.

The moon hung in the sky, and in the dim and ambiguous light, Zhong Jun had a gauze patch on her forehead.

He lay there, pale as a sculpture, and was indeed quite handsome.

However, he remained unconscious, his body was sticky as if stained with blood, and he couldn't explain himself to anyone, which was worrying.

Jian Dieda couldn't even find a place to stand in his own dormitory room. His gaze seemed to be wandering, as if he was trying to avoid looking at the men inside.

——

The two of them went to sleep together.

The scent of gardenias faded the smell of blood, and the breathing on the bed became even.

The next day, Zhong Jun woke up.

Looking at the bedding on the floor, and confirming his location several times, he reached out and woke up his junior, Jian, who was on the bed: "You heartless bastard, I can only sleep on the floor?"

Jane Dieda: "..."

Zhong Jun et al.

Jane Dieda: "If people see us together, it will have a bad impact on the school."

Zhong Jun pouted, looking aggrieved.

Jane Dieda thought of the death notice from last night.

Could the person who died be Zhong Jun?

If so, what should be done?

Zhong Jun, who was reluctant to get out of bed, was still saying, "Brother, you are a brave young man. How can you be so kind to me, a delicate flower, when I am just a weak scholar?"

"..."

"Ah! Jian Zijin, you started pinching my thigh again while my pants were off!"

Zhong Jun experienced a bittersweet feeling, and was almost turning into a masochist.

Jian Dieda had already run away by then. Zhong Jun sat on the ground grinding her teeth for a while, then followed Jian Dieda to the bathroom to wash her face.

But Zhong, a student council member, has countless admirers. Why is it so difficult for him to have a campus romance with a junior? He squeezed in and even slept on the floor. What's the difference between him and an ordinary student who just stayed there?

They were brushing their teeth with a gurgling sound.

Zhong Jun retorted, "What are you afraid of? Even if someone sees you, they won't misunderstand that you have designs on your senior. You can get away with something like that without caring at all, so you're not hiding anything."

Without taking the bait, Jian Dieda lowered his head and said, "I'm hiding something."

Zhong Jun: "..."

The hint came unexpectedly.

Zhong Jun blushed.

The two, preoccupied with their own thoughts, glanced around but avoided looking at each other.

Much later, Zhong Jie saw a milk crate and asked:

Where did the milk come from?

Jane Dieda, standing behind him, lowered her head and said, "I brought this to school. I drank it once, but I didn't like it. I'll give it to you to help you get some nutrition."

“You’re reluctant to keep it and want me to drink it, right?” Zhong Jun’s tone rose. He didn’t try anything funny; he just said with genuine concern, “Can I spare this sip? Let me touch it.”

Jane Dieda turned away from her still-hot face and said, "I really don't like drinking it, I don't know why."

“Then I’ll have to see too. I’m lactose intolerant, I’ll die if I drink it. I have to let you drink it,” Zhong Jun said, scooting her legs up onto the bed and bringing her face close to Jian Dieda’s, touching his short hair. “Oh, junior, you’ve been saving money and starving yourself. Your face is sunken and your eyes look like a panda’s.”

"..."

Upon seeing Jian Dieda touching his own face, Zhong Jun suppressed her smile: "I was just kidding. Handsome, cool, I mean Jian Zi is a national treasure, a handsome guy, like a panda."

Zhong Jun coaxed him and picked up the milk again, turning it upside down to look at the expiration date on the label. Jian Dieda, having calmed down, said to him, "Don't look at it."

Senior Zhong insisted, "Let me show you the date."

"I've already seen it."

Turning around, the senior poked his forehead and scolded him like a younger brother, "With your older brother here, do you think I don't know how careless you are?"

Jian Dieda waved his hand: "I can't be bothered with you."

Zhong Jun burst out laughing.

Kissing while standing in the power distribution room, guessing each other's thoughts until blushing and flushing, the indescribable feeling was carried back to the dormitory.

Zhong Jun helped him wipe his face; his hair, now long, was wet. The two held hands and looked down at each other.

It was now completely bright outside.

Zhong Jun lowered her head and poked at the small dimples on Jian Zijin's face, probing the depth of the boy's dimples: "Jinjin."

They are no longer the scheming senior boss and the rebellious junior, but have become intimate accomplices in the grotesque school.

Junior Brother Jian gave a vague reply, and Zhong Jun smiled, opened her arms, hugged Junior Brother Jian, and stood up.

As for Zhong Jun, Jian Zijin, who seemed reluctant to walk, was not heavy at all.

Zhong Jun lifted her favorite little object and carried it to the mirror.

With their faces close together, Zhong Jun gave them a kiss, poked their dimples, and then kissed them on the lips, making a joke in his local dialect.

"Whether I'm good to my youngest son or not, whether he likes it or not, oh my, just touching his waist will flood the university town."

Jian Dieda couldn't handle this kind of flirting and pushed Zhong Jun away: "Okay, get up now. I'm going to change my clothes. Please turn around."

Seeing that his junior was about to take off his clothes, Zhong Jun nodded and turned his back respectfully. A minute or two later, the junior told his senior that he was ready.

Zhong Yun turned around. Jian Xuedi's upper body was already dressed, but the sharp-eyed Zhong Yun could see the new briefs and a pair of white legs peeking out from the side of the bulge in the blanket. Zhong Yun suppressed her smugness and asked with a smile, "Was it something between you and me that you thought about yesterday when you came back, or did you have some ideas after seeing that I was injured?"

Jian Dieda paused, and after a long while, he responded to Zhong Jun's urging, saying honestly, "It was after I saw you wake up and found that you were still alive."

Zhong Jun smiled with satisfaction.

Zhong Jun was worried about Jian Dieda, who was hiding from him while changing his underwear.

In the end, Zhong Yun, being three years older than Jian Zijin, decided to keep quiet about what he had seen through tonight, suppressing his urge to stand up as well.

After that, neither of them talked about liking or disliking anything anymore.

Jane Dieda brushed her teeth: "Did you faint last night because you fouled for me?"

Zhong Yun kept her mouth shut: "The time is not right, I can't say anything recklessly."

Jian Dieda said she would ignore this senior student.

"Then I'll check it myself."
