Flowering (four)

"Damn bird, give me back the hairpin!"

The cat demon Chiyu's eyes were bloodshot, and the demonic energy around her surged. Her originally cute and lovely face was distorted by madness.

She screamed, and her body moved like lightning as she pounced again. Her ten sharp claws gleamed coldly, and she rushed straight for Heshu's outer gate with the speed of breaking through the air.

He Shu quickly dodged to the side, his white robe fluttering as his eyes swept over Fu Qingle, who was sitting on the ground not far away in panic, and his heart sank.

He spread his wings, his immortal power flowed, and his body floated back several feet.

The heavenly soldiers should have discovered that the cat demon had escaped. She wouldn't be able to hide for long and would be found soon.

Now that the elixir is in hand, there is really no need to fight with her, so as not to harm innocent people.

Having made up his mind, he turned around and was about to return to the cabin.

"Don't leave!"

Unexpectedly, the cat demon showed its true form and chased after him again regardless of everything!

Her petite body exploded with astonishing speed, her sharp claws scraping against the rocks with a piercing sound. Her momentum was resolute, with a hint of a shared fate.

He is really ignorant of the times and stubborn!

He Shu frowned and looked back, feeling angry but also alert.

Seeing the white shadow chasing him relentlessly, he made a quick decision, folded his wings, and landed on a steep cliff not far away.

The wind was blowing fiercely, making his white robe rustle.

He Shu turned to face the cat demon climbing up quickly, and carefully put the hairpin into the pouch in his sleeve to make sure it would not be lost again. Then he raised his eyes and said in a calm voice:

"Chiyu, it's not easy for you and Fu Qingle to meet. Why don't you spend your last moments together with me instead of chasing me here?"

The cat demon quickly chased to the top of the cliff, its snow-white fur standing up slightly in anger.

She transformed back into human form and stood at the edge of the cliff, her chest heaving violently. Her amber pupils were filled with crazy obsession, nothing else.

"Give me back my hairpin!"

The voice was hoarse and every word was heartbreaking.

Her long hair was flying and her dress was torn by the mountain wind, outlining her lonely silhouette.

He Shu tapped the cliff lightly with the tip of his toes, and his body floated backward like a feather, instantly creating some distance between him and the cat demon that was rushing towards him.

He clenched his hand in the air, gathering his immortal energy. A longbow instantly appeared, and he twisted his fingers into a spell. An arrow condensed with light was already on the string. The bow was opened like a full moon, and the tip of the arrow pointed steadily at the swift, ghostly white shadow.

"For Fu Qingle's sake, I'm unwilling to fight you to the death! Since you dared to escape from the heavenly soldiers, you must have expected them to come and capture you soon. Why are you still so stubborn and keep making the same mistake again and again!"

"call out--"

The arrow flew through the air, but it didn't go straight for the vital part. Instead, it shot precisely at the spot just an inch in front of the cat demon's feet, splashing a cloud of gravel, intending to prevent her from getting any closer.

"The elixir is no ordinary thing. Forcing it on a mortal is probably not a blessing... If you continue to force it, the consequences will be..."

“What consequences!”

The cat demon interrupted He Shu's words with a harsh voice, and twisted its body as if it had no bones, and its flexible waist bent an incredible arc in the air.

She stepped onto the branch of a lone pine tree nearby, using the force to soar into the air again, easily avoiding the aftermath of the exploding arrow.

In mid-air, the cat demon's gaze was like a poisonous dagger, fiercely stabbing at He Shu. Her voice was sharp and piercing, with hysterical questions:

"Just two elixirs, and you can take them at will? Why can't Qingle and I? The gods in heaven can eat them, so why do we think what we ask for is against the will of heaven?"

Her amber pupils shrank into thin lines, and the demonic energy around her became even stronger. Her speed increased by another three points, and she pounced on He Shu even more fiercely:

"I just want to be with him forever, what's wrong with that? Why are you all trying to stop me and harm me? Heaven's rules? Heaven's rules have never shown mercy to people like me, why should I obey them?"

He Shu's eyes flashed, and it was too late for him to draw his bow again. The white shadow, wrapped in a sharp wind blade, pressed in front of him.

A cold light flashed at the cat demon's fingertips. One claw attacked his wrist holding the bow, while the other claw cunningly reached for his throat. The wind from the claws was so fierce that it brought about a shriek that tore through the air.

This attack was treacherous and ruthless, with a desperate madness and ferocity. It was completely different from the moves of the cat demon in He Shu's memory. Its power was much more profound than before.

not good!

This cat demon has lost his mind and may have gone crazy!

He Shu was secretly shocked. He gritted his teeth, turned around and retreated quickly, while holding the longbow across his body to block.

Perhaps because he hadn't been possessed for long and the demonic energy was shallow, he failed to discover it in time...

"clang--"

The crisp sound of metal colliding with stone exploded, and the power of immortals and demons collided violently, emitting a dazzling light that made the surrounding rock walls flicker.

The surging wind made the two men's clothes rustle.

Since the incident with the shadow demon, He Shu has been practicing magic diligently, and his magic power has far surpassed that of the cat demon, but he is still not good at close combat.

He flapped his wings rapidly and walked lightly as if walking on the breeze. He always avoided the sharp claws in time when they were about to touch his body, but his white robe was still cut into several pieces by the sharp claw wind, making him look quite embarrassed.

The cat demon was obviously very familiar with his moves. Knowing that he was good at long-range attacks but poor at close combat, his offensive was continuous like a tide.

Relying on his natural speed and flexibility, he followed He Shu like a shadow and entangled him tightly, not giving him any chance to draw his bow and aim.

We can't keep retreating, if we keep holding on for too long we will lose!

After several thrilling fights, He Shu's mind raced. When the cat demon pounced down from the air again with both claws out, He Shu did not dodge, but met the sharp cat claws with his left shoulder.

“Puff—”

The sharp claws instantly pierced through the flesh, leaving five shocking bloody holes. Blood immediately gushed out, staining the clothes red.

He Shu groaned in pain, his face turning three shades paler in an instant, but he didn't dare hesitate for a moment. He endured the severe pain, and the immortal power in his right hand surged, pouring it into the longbow.

"Bind!"

With a low shout, the longbow glowed with golden light, and complex and mysterious runes bloomed from the bow.

He took advantage of the cat demon's forward momentum to retreat, released the bowstring, and an arrow condensed from pure immortal power and runes shot out through the air, piercing the cat demon's shoulder blade, and nailed her to the cold and hard stone wall behind her with a huge impact force.

“Uhh—”

The cat demon let out a shrill howl, and the severe pain caused her whole body to spasm.

Several rune light ropes flowed out from the wound, flexibly wrapped around her limbs and waist, and suddenly tightened.

All struggles were in vain. The demonic power around him was completely suppressed by the runes. The cat demon was panting rapidly, cold sweat oozing from his forehead. His amber pupils glared unwillingly at He Shu who was approaching step by step, but he could no longer move.

"Chiyu..."

He Shu walked forward slowly, and the light of the longbow faded and disappeared into nothingness.

He lowered his eyes to look at the miserable cat demon lying on the ground, tightly bound by the immortal rope. His expression revealed a complex sense of pity and doubt:

"The power of the elixir is extremely overbearing to mortals. It may not be a panacea for immortality, but it may even be a death warrant... If you do this... you will harm him..."

"Hahahaha—harm him? Do I have any other way?"

Upon hearing this, the cat demon raised her head and laughed bitterly and sorrowfully. Tears mixed with the blood that Crane Book had splashed onto her face slid down her cheeks, and the corners of her mouth curled up in a very mocking arc.

"No matter what method I use, as long as I can keep him, I'm willing to do it... How can this be harming him?"

"He Shu... How can you be so sure that Qing Le doesn't want to live and die with me?"

She suddenly stopped laughing, her face suddenly became gloomy, and she stared at He Shu.

That gaze was so sharp that it seemed to penetrate his skin and look straight into the most hidden corner of his heart:

"Besides, I'm a demon! I'm naturally selfish, hypocritical, and will do anything to achieve my goals! I just want Qingle to live a hundred years. I'm going to do everything I can to catch him, so that he can stay with me for the rest of my life, and never leave me!"

"What a bullshit! Humans and demons are on different paths! I just don't believe it!"

Her words were like poisoned arrows, shooting at He Shu word by word:

"I'm nothing like you! I'm just a hypocrite in the guise of an immortal! You talk all about the laws of nature, righteousness, and morality... but in reality, you're just being sanctimonious and harboring ulterior motives!"

"What qualifications do you have to stand here and criticize my actions?"

"You—shut up!"

He Shu was furious, his blood boiling in his chest. He suppressed his anger and said in a cold voice:

"Just wait here for the heavenly soldiers to arrive and escort you. You stole the elixir first, and now you're escaping. That's adding insult to injury. The fine you'll have to pay will be more than just a hundred years of cultivation!"

The mind of this cat demon has been blinded by obsession, and his words are like knives, which are just the fight of a trapped beast. But... poor Fu Qingle, after this incident, I'm afraid we may never see each other again.

Thinking of this, his face darkened and he turned away, waving his sleeves.

"Just relying on that bunch of useless heavenly soldiers?"

The cat demon grinned, and that smile was strange and charming.

Immediately afterwards, her body began to shrink at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if it had been deflated.

"They've been fooled by me for a long time, just like you! Hahahaha——"

Her laughter echoed between the cliffs, full of playfulness and pride.

"Come to think of it, I really have to thank you, He Shu! Thank you for bringing my clone down to the mortal world. It gave me the opportunity to prevent you from finding the elixir before me, and also helped me successfully complete my plan of substituting one thing for another and escaping!"

He Shu frowned when he heard this and turned around suddenly.

"Don't act so noble in front of me! What's the difference between you and me?"

The cat demon's voice became erratic, and the "body" nailed to the stone wall was rapidly turning into nothingness.

"What's the point of cultivating this immortal bone! Can it really hide your selfish heart? With the immortal elixir in hand, you dare say... you haven't wavered in the slightest? I don't believe you've ever had the slightest desire to keep it for yourself!"

He Shu sensed something was wrong, and the immortal power surged at his fingertips, trying to strengthen the rune. However, the body shrank even faster, and the rune chain seemed to pass through a shadow and could no longer exert any force.

"I heard... that sickly soul has returned... Haha, you got a great deal for free."

I watched helplessly as the cat demon's body shrank smaller and smaller, until it finally turned into a tiny cat hair and slowly floated to the ground.
