Flowering (Part 3)

Flowering (Part 3)

"A long journey?"

He Shu's hand was still on the door frame, but Xuan Tongzi's voice had already reached his ears.

"Little Wuming, what's this... My lover just woke up and he's so eager to abandon this old bone of mine and fly away with him to travel the world?"

He Shu was struck by lightning when he heard this. He stood at the door in a daze. It took him a while to find his voice again. His ears instantly turned red.

"Old mandrill! What nonsense are you talking about again!"

His eyes widened, he flicked his sleeves suddenly, stepped forward quickly and pushed aside Xuan Tongzi who was standing beside the bed, his gaze quickly falling back on the bed.

Qingshan fell asleep again, with a hint of fatigue between his brows.

He Shu frowned worriedly, not caring about the old man's outspokenness. He gently stroked Qingshan's cheek with his fingertips and asked in a low voice:

"What happened to Qingshan? Is he okay?"

"Hmph, he's fine. I think he still has the strength to kiss—"

"Shut up!"

Hearing those key words, He Shu turned around suddenly like a cat whose tail was stepped on and pushed Xuan Tongzi.

He grabbed the man's arm fiercely, dragged him into the study, lowered his voice, and warned through gritted teeth:

"Old mandrill! Were you spying on us? If you dare to mention this again, I will... I will..."

He hesitated for a long time, but couldn't think of any harsh words that could really threaten the old monster. He could only stamp his feet in anger and anxiety, with his brows tightly furrowed.

"Oh my, alright, alright, I won't tease you anymore..."

Xuan Tongzi said that he would forgive others if he could, but he still had a mocking smile on his face, which made people angry.

He Shu glared at him angrily, but was helpless.

I really want to pull out his beard that is almost reaching the sky so that he can't even cry!

He thought angrily, clenched his fists, snorted, crossed his arms and turned away.

"Are you really angry? I'm just worried about you guys."

Xuan Tongzi came closer, lowering his voice, but he couldn't hide his smile.

"Qingshan's body hasn't stabilized yet, and you're still doing this..."

"What do you, do you care?"

He Shu choked, his cheeks suddenly turned red, and he was so embarrassed that he almost smoked.

"Why not? It's so cold in spring. How can you sleep on the floor? It's not good to catch a cold."

Xuan Tongzi shook his head, not caring about He Shu's rage, and sat down on a stool beside him.

"However... I still have to remind you that if you want to travel far away now, you really can't take Qingshan with you."

His expression became more restrained, and his voice became a little deeper.

"I'm not kidding. Although Qingshan's earth soul has returned to its place, it still needs to recuperate. The Spirit Purifying Bottle must continue to absorb the spiritual energy nurtured by this peach tree to nourish its soul until it is complete. This won't take long, but during this time, Qingshan must not stray too far from this tree."

"Who said I was going to take Qingshan with me?"

He Shu's tone was still not very friendly, but it was obviously softer, and the thorns were put away.

"That shadow demon... has been killed. The matter of stealing the pill should be over soon, right? I just want to go to the Heavenly Palace to see how the cat demon is doing now."

He turned around and saw Xuan Tongzi raised his eyebrows:

"Cat demon?"

"right."

He Shu took two steps closer.

"That's the cat demon who stole the pill. His name is Chiyu."

"Oh...you really do care about her."

Xuan Tongzi's eyes fell on the rice paper on the desk, and he frowned, as if he was shocked by the ugly handwriting on it, and quickly looked away.

"Before I descended to the mortal world, the trial of that cat demon was nearing completion. They said that if she was willing to reveal the whereabouts of the elixir, her sentence could be reduced, and her hundred years of cultivation could be confiscated..."

As he spoke, his fingertips tapped the table, making a "dong dong" sound.

"I originally thought that the cat demon was so stubborn...that he wouldn't give in so easily."

"She handed over the elixir?"

He Shu's heart tightened, and he frowned and asked, a hint of worry flashing across his eyes.

"No. I heard that the cat demon used some unknown method to send the elixir to the mortal world. The heavenly soldiers have taken her to the lower world to search for her, and now... maybe they have found something."

"Is that so..."

He Shu stopped and stood on the opposite side of the desk, looking down at the seated Xuan Tongzi.

"Is this elixir so important that we must find it?"

"If the elixir were in heaven, it wouldn't matter who got it, but it fell into the mortal world..."

Xuan Tongzi stood up and patted He Shu on the shoulder.

"If it were accidentally eaten by a mortal, it would be no small matter. It's no exaggeration to say it would be a catastrophic disaster..."

He was about to say something else when he heard rustling footsteps and a low voice calling from the bedroom:

"none--"

It’s Qingshan!

He Shu froze all over, turned around twice in panic, and finally ran to the windowsill in a panic.

"Qing, Qingshan is awake!"

He jumped out with one foot raised,

"I have to tell Mr. Fu right away!"

"nameless?"

Qingshan's voice came from behind him. He subconsciously wanted to turn back, but he forced himself to hold back. His steps became faster and faster, and he almost trotted towards the corner of the yard.

After looking around and not seeing Fu Qingle, he calmed down a little, glanced back, and saw Qingshan still standing by the window sill of the study, waving at him.

He Shu turned his back suddenly as if he was scalded.

He took stiff steps, trying his best not to look at the people in the house. He moved awkwardly step by step to the gate of the courtyard, his eyes fixed on the ground, and deliberately raised his voice, speaking so fast that it was almost inaudible:

"Hey... Hey! Where's Xiaobai? Where did he go to have fun again? I have to call him back for lunch quickly, otherwise he'll starve to death. What should I do?"

He ran all the way to the Yangchun Creek and saw no one around. Only then did he completely relax. He held his knees and took two quick breaths, then suddenly squatted down and covered his burning face with his hands.

Oh my God! I was so dizzy and did such a bold thing!

How can I face the mountains calmly in the future?

But... even though he was the one who started it... Qingshan later clearly...

Ahhhhhh——

I don’t want to think about it anymore!

He Shu shook his head vigorously, trying to shake off the increasingly unbearable thoughts.

Since Qingshan was fine and he was embarrassed to go back for the time being, he decided to go find Fu Qingle and tell him first.

I hurriedly ran into the yard just now, but didn't see him. I don't know whether he ran out to look for the cat or has already returned home.

Thinking of this, He Shu concentrated and held his breath, and a wisp of spiritual consciousness spread over the surrounding mountains and forests like water waves.

It is still more convenient to be in Luzhu Mountain. It is rich in spiritual energy and is a gathering place for spirits and monsters. Even casting spells is freer than elsewhere.

He moved and turned into a white shadow like a flowing cloud, flying over the treetops and running quickly on the leaves.

As the figure passed by, a whistling wind arose, and the dark green forest below parted to both sides like a tide.

Soon, a familiar breath appeared within the perception range.

In the clearing in the woods, a figure stood facing him sideways, bending over, seemingly playing with a snow-white cat at its feet with a gentle posture.

The cat was docile and well-behaved, even rubbing its head against the man's palm and purring with satisfaction.

"Found it."

He Shu chuckled, the corners of his lips slightly raised, his figure hovered in mid-air, and landed silently several feet away.

He transformed into a human form and was about to speak——

The aura around the white cat suddenly changed!

It was not a murderous aura, but a gentle demonic aura flowing around the body.

The petite body stretched out, the fur faded, transforming into slender limbs, and the long snow-white hair was half draped behind the head...

But in the blink of an eye, the cat disappeared without a trace, and in its place, there was a woman in a plain white dress, kneeling in front of Fu Qingle, her hands still clasped in a hug.

She raised her head and stared at the face so close to her, which was full of the vicissitudes of time. Her amber pupils were filled with shock that was almost painful and a long-lasting sadness.

The cat demon raised a trembling hand, and gently brushed the wrinkles at the corners of the eyes of the person in front of him with his fingertips. His voice was choked with disbelief as he murmured:

"Qingle... Qingle... why, why... it's all my fault... it's all my fault..."

Fu Qingle was also stunned on the spot, staring blankly at the woman that the cat in his arms had transformed into. His eyes suddenly turned red, his lips trembled, but he couldn't even call out her name.

The words that were about to come to He Shu's lips suddenly froze.

It's a ruler jade...

The white cat that suddenly appeared beside him turned out to be Chiyu!

He subconsciously mobilized the immortal power in his body and grasped the longbow in his hand, but was at a loss for a moment.

No……

Xuan Daozi said that this cat demon followed the heavenly soldiers to the mortal world to search for the elixir...

There is a high possibility that the hairpin containing the elixir fell on Luzhu Mountain. Perhaps she just happened to meet Fu Qingle who was looking for Xiaobai.

Even though he thought so, He Shu felt inexplicably uneasy.

Not far away, the two were immersed in the sorrow and joy of reunion. He couldn't bear to go forward to disturb them, so he had to stay still and stand where he was.

"Chiyu..."

Fu Qingle suddenly came to his senses, pushed the cat demon away, and staggered backwards.

He turned his head, trying his best to avoid the sight of the person in front of him, and said in a hoarse voice:

"I... I'm old..."

“No, no…”

The cat demon eagerly held Fu Qingle's hand again. She shook her head repeatedly, tears streaming down her face.

"Qingle...I'm late...It's my fault..."

She came forward and hugged him tightly, with a trembling voice mixed with a hint of desperate determination.

"We will never be separated again, Qingle... In this life, in all the lives to come, we will be together forever..."

As the cat demon spoke, she raised her hand and reached behind her head. He Shu's eyes followed it and saw a familiar hairpin in her hand. His pupils suddenly shrank.

It’s the hairpin that contains the elixir!

The cat demon still hasn't given up!

He Shu no longer stood idly by. He drew his bow and arrow without hesitation. The white feather arrow shot out from the air and pierced through the cat demon's sleeve with a "swoosh", nailing it into the mud beside it.

The hairpin fell out of his hand, and he rushed up like lightning and snatched it into his palm.

After landing steadily, he looked at the cat demon who was protecting Fu Qingle tightly behind him, with his five fingers like claws, teeth bared and growling, revealing his half-demon state, and said in a cold voice:

"Chiyu, I thought you had figured it out."
