Mo Li (IV)

Mo Li (IV)

He Shu shook his head in disapproval, and moved even closer, almost leaning half of his body forward.

This time he did not dodge Qingshan's outstretched hand, and allowed the other party to pat his head gently with a hint of helpless warning.

But this did not make him restrain himself. Instead, he became even more excited, as if he had found a perfect handle to play a prank on someone. He raised his eyebrows smugly and continued to tease:

"Maybe... someone is just missing me so much, so anxious and worried, that they really... have to resort to the 'cry, make a scene, and then commit suicide' trick?"

The smile on his face became brighter and brighter, as if he had won a victory and was feeling proud.

However, He Shu soon realized that apart from the initial flash of discomfort, Qingshan had long since returned to his usual calm and gentle demeanor. There was even an undisguised smile of indulgence between his eyebrows, without any trace of the anger and shame he had expected.

This mediocre reaction suddenly made him lose interest and feel bored, as if he had punched the air, limp and without any impact.

Just as he was about to retreat in anger and sit back in his seat, he was suddenly embraced by someone's long arm, and a soft but irresistible force came from his waist.

He Shu suddenly lost his balance, and with a low cry, he was about to fall forward into that warm embrace.

Fortunately, he reacted very quickly and barely managed to hold on to the wall of the car beside Qingshan, which barely stopped his falling momentum. His whole body was suspended in mid-air, maintaining an extremely close, audible yet shaky and ambiguous posture.

"All right……"

Qingshan raised his head and looked at the face so close to him. The panic and anger on it were clearly visible. He finally sighed helplessly, as if he had no way to deal with the person in front of him.

"Let Wuming feel whatever he wants..."

He spoke of a helpless compromise, but his eyes, as deep as the night, were still filled with a gentle smile, clearly reflecting the somewhat embarrassed yet touching appearance of the man opposite him.

A warm breath rushed towards him, brushing against the sensitive sides of He Shu's neck and the auricle, bringing with it an indescribable tingling sensation. He subconsciously shrank his neck, and the strength in his hands loosened instantly.

“Hmm!”

The next moment, he fell completely and firmly into the warm embrace that had already been opened to him.

The arms around his waist tightened a little more, and He Shu couldn't help but twist a few times, subconsciously trying to break free from this sudden intimacy.

When I raised my eyes, I caught a glimpse of Qingshan's expression gradually calming down, becoming extremely focused and serious.

Locked in such a deep gaze, his struggling movements suddenly stopped, as if he was cast under a spell of immobilization. He half-knelt, sitting astride Qingshan's thighs, and subconsciously called out:

"Qingshan..."

He was stunned, and his fingertips seemed to have their own consciousness. He stretched out tentatively and carefully, tracing the familiar eyebrows and eyes that had long been engraved in his heart.

"I do..."

Qingshan's voice became low and hoarse, as if covered by a layer of mist, with a trance of memories.

"I miss Wuming so much, I'm burning with worry and anxious..."

He seemed to recall the days and nights of true separation, his long eyelashes slowly drooping, casting a faint shadow under his eyelids.

"So, I hope... Wuming... won't do this again, won't leave without saying goodbye... won't leave me again..."

As he spoke, his arms slowly tightened, holding He Shu even tighter in his embrace, as if to rub him into his bones and blood. A muffled voice came out:

"That day... after I escaped from the Bai residence and returned to the small courtyard on Luzhu Mountain, I discovered you hadn't returned home with me... I originally thought you were just angry for a moment and had gone to Master's place for some quiet time like you always did..."

"Back then, I wasn't rational enough. I was so caught up in my own self-pity that I ignored your possible insecurities and fears. I even arrogantly thought that perhaps we... really needed some time alone to calm down, so I didn't go looking for you right away... Who knew... Who knew that what I waited for wasn't your return, but..."

He choked on his words and didn't finish, but the fear and regret he felt were clearly conveyed.

"I was wrong...Wuming..."

Qingshan rested his forehead on Heshu's shoulder and murmured,

"No matter what happened outside the Bai Mansion, no matter what you said, I should never have... let go of your hand... I will never do this again, never again..."

His voice gradually became lower, until it was completely lost in the tight embrace of the two people, turning into a heavy and long sigh.

The small carriage, which was warm to the point of being stuffy, was suddenly enveloped in silence.

Only the sound of their intertwined breathing seemed particularly clear, intertwined and inextricably linked in their rapidity.

The small stove in the corner was burning brightly, and the silver charcoal inside occasionally made one or two subtle "crackling" sounds, pushing the warmth that was a little too hot and almost unbearable at the moment, in waves, filling the already sticky air.

The sounds outside the car window seemed distant and vague due to the thick walls of the car, but they were extremely clear at certain moments.

The wind continued to howl tirelessly, sweeping up snow particles that brushed against the carriage, making a constant rustling sound. The nimble hooves of the horses trod on the soft snow, making a regular, dull "clack, clack" sound, one after another, solid and agile, carrying them home.

"I made mistakes too, Qingshan..."

After a long time, He Shu suddenly spoke, breaking the silence in the room.

He stretched out his arms, wrapped them around Qingshan's neck, then suddenly leaned over and buried his hot breath deeply into the neck that was filled with a familiar and reassuring scent.

The soft but slightly cool hair instantly touched his slightly hot cheek.

The intertwined feeling of ice and fire suddenly cleared his thoughts, which had been somewhat muddled by the warm air in the car, but his voice was still unclear:

"From now on... I will never act capriciously again. I won't run away out of fear, and I won't... stop you from doing what you want, including cultivation..."

Qingshan turned his head, and his soft lips brushed against Heshu's earlobe, like a dragonfly skimming the water, leaving a kiss that was so gentle and almost pious.

A low chuckle mixed with hot breaths went straight into his ear canal without any explanation, scratching the most sensitive nerves inside.

He Shu's whole body trembled violently, and an intense tingling sensation instantly spread from his ears to every part of his limbs, causing even his toes to curl up, and he froze in place, at a loss.

The promises that he hadn't finished saying were instantly stuck in the back of his throat. The close distance and the breath beside his ear changed his tone, turning into a kind of panic-stricken heat that spread from the skin between their hands, burning his cheeks and neck with a rich crimson.

"good……"

Qingshan's voice rang close to his ear again, with soothing and solemn promises.

"We will never do this again."

Too, too close...

He Shu could clearly feel the rise and fall of Qingshan's every breath and the vibration of his chest.

The whisper didn't sound like he heard it, but rather it sounded directly from his bones, causing the blood in his body to tremble slightly.

This overly intimate hug allowed the body temperatures to be transmitted and blended without any hindrance through several layers of clothing. The heartbeats seemed to overlap, thumping, rapid and chaotic, and it was no longer possible to tell whose heartbeat it was.

He Shu couldn't stand this silent teasing, and his ears turned red. He subconsciously raised his hand and pressed his palm against Qingshan's solid chest. With a little force, he pushed away a little, stepped onto the carpet and stood up.

He turned his flushed face away, stretched out his hand to lift the car curtain, and muttered rapidly:

"Qingshan, don't you think... it's too hot in the car? I want to... go out and get some fresh air..."

But her wrist was gently held by the other person in mid-air, and the palm was also hot.

"It's snowing and windy outside, and the cold is biting. Be careful not to catch a cold."

He paused and looked at the fireplace in the corner.

"If you feel hot, I'll just turn off the heater."

Being pulled by Qingshan to sit down again, the two adult men, neither of whom were petite, were squeezed together on the soft couch on the side of the carriage, sitting side by side, with layers of clothes piled up and palms touching.

A rustling sound came from his ears. He Shu lowered his head, his eyes fixed on the heater that had just been extinguished and was emitting the last wisp of smoke, and he was lost in thought.

The heat source gradually lost its temperature, and the warmth in the car began to slowly dissipate, but the heat in his heart did not subside but increased instead, like a wildfire that spread across the prairie. He felt a stuffy chest, dry mouth, and even difficulty breathing.

The soft and burning feeling on the place where the kiss had just touched my ear was like a brand left on my skin...

He Shu suddenly covered his ear and quietly put his increasingly hot cheek close to the car window.

A biting cold wind blew in from a corner of the thick brocade curtain, carrying fine snow foam and blowing on his face, bringing a hint of coolness.

He gently used his fingertips to open a gap in the curtain, and the dead branches covered with new snow formed silver lines outside the window. The snow dust splashed by the horse's hooves flickered in the sunset and disappeared in a flash.

He Shu couldn't help but lean his upper body out a little, letting the whistling cold wind blow his ink-black long hair into a mess, but it still couldn't hide the corners of his mouth that were raised.

"So greedy for coolness?"

Suddenly, a helpless chuckle came from inside the car, and then a broad hand covered his lower back. He Shu could only retreat back into the car, with a crisp snowy air around him.

"It's obviously too hot in the car!"

He retorted stubbornly and leaned into Qingshan's arms.

The unmelted snow particles on the hair rubbed against the other person's collar, leaving some wet marks.
