0045 Early Cold (4)

0045 Early Cold (4)

“Shen Yan, my… friend.” Lingling spoke to Guan Kai, then turned to Shen Yan, “Brother Ayan, this is my student Guan Kai. We met at the hospital last time.”

Guan Kai was the first to reach out his hand, crossing the aisle between the two tables towards Shen Yan.

From Lingling's perspective, Guan Kai's smile was very polite, but because of this excessive naturalness, Lingling felt a little uncomfortable... as if he had known Brother Shenyan for a long time.

Then she realized she was being too suspicious. Children from families like theirs always did things meticulously, and she knew this better than anyone after following Wanqi Fuze for so many years.

Shen Yan hurriedly reached out, but because the distance was a bit far and it was inconvenient for him to be in a wheelchair, he couldn't reach it by simply reaching out.

He quickly turned his wheelchair to adjust his position, but in the cramped space, in his haste, the wheelchair got stuck on the stool behind him, leaving him momentarily unable to move.

The situation was a bit awkward, but Guan Kai could have easily resolved the predicament with a simple bow, but he smiled and withdrew.

Shen Yan's face was a little pale, and he said "I'm sorry" to Guan Kai.

Guan Kai remained silent, his face still bearing a meaningful smile.

Even though Lingling was prone to overthinking, she couldn't help but feel that the smile was a bit too jarring. She inexplicably felt that this boy wasn't very friendly today, reminding her of his behavior when they first met—it seemed reasonable, yet it made her feel uncomfortable... as if he was deliberately trying to embarrass her.

The proprietress came to serve the dish; the steaming fish head covered with green and red chilies looked mouthwatering.

He Lingling invited Guan Kai to come to this table and eat with them. Guan Kai did not refuse and sat down opposite Shen Yan in a generous manner.

Because of his health condition, Shen Yan only chose to eat non-spicy dishes.

During the meal, he felt a gaze repeatedly cast his way, which made him feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Lingling is a lively person, and the three of them are never short of things to talk about when they get together at the table. She also takes great care of Shen Yan, who is not familiar with her, so she always makes sure he feels comfortable.

After finishing her meal, Lingling went to pay the bill, but the owner smiled and said that this person had already paid, glancing at Guan Kai.

Lingling was stunned. They were the ones who arrived first. When did he pay?

Turning around, Guan Kai had already pushed Shen Yan's wheelchair for her. She hurriedly thanked the boss and chased after him.

The feeling of unease in my heart grew stronger and stronger.

The two people in front left the restaurant. Guan Kai was not short, and he still had to bend over to push the wheelchair that Chen Yan was sitting in.

Sunlight shone on his profile, and his sharp, angular jawline added to his fierce appearance.

He smiled and talked to Shen Yan as if they were having a pleasant conversation.

Lingling felt that his appearance was somewhat familiar.

Suddenly, Guan Kai stopped, turned around and squatted down in front of Shen Yan, looking down at Shen Yan's broken leg.

Lingling was startled, fearing that he might do something that would make her brother Ayan uncomfortable.

But he simply bent down and tucked the blanket covering Shen Yan's broken leg.

Lingling couldn't see Shen Yan's expression because his back was turned to her, but the next moment, she didn't know what Guan Kai said to him, but Shen Yan suddenly turned around, his face showing some disbelief and fear.

Lingling abruptly stopped herself from chasing after them.

She turned around in the direction Shen Yan was looking and saw a tall, thin man dressed as a waiter standing at the entrance of the restaurant they had just come from.

From a distance, she couldn't see his face clearly. The man had a very short buzz cut, and from a distance, his features appeared strong and sharp; he was the kind of person who, although thin, was very powerful.

He was standing at the door smoking when he seemed to sense someone watching him, and a sharp, hawk-like gaze shot over.

Then he paused for a moment when he saw the person on the other side.

He awkwardly entered the room again, and He Lingling gripped her trembling hand tightly.

She can recognize someone even if she can't see their face clearly.

Seven years ago, she brutally slammed down the murderer who had harmed Brother Ayan in the tea room.

Something rushed into my mind in an instant.

She was seven years older than she had been back then, no longer the little girl who could only fiercely shout "I won't let you get away with this!" She forced herself to calm down quickly.

She seemed to finally see some clues about the discomfort she had always felt around Guan Kai.

His somewhat disdainful attitude towards everything overlapped with the demeanor of the person he had just spoken to.

"I have a very good relationship with my second brother."

"He went to a very far place."

At that time, Guan Kai inexplicably started talking to her about his family.

Some speculations quickly began to form in my mind.
