0055 Birthday (4)

0055 Birthday (4)

Zhao Xiaojing saw from afar that a very tall man was standing next to Lingling, and Shen Chengsi, who was standing next to her, stood up first.

She only saw the man's face clearly when the two men walked closer.

Only four words came to mind: absolutely astounding.

Spending a long time on a university campus, I always feel that my peers who are doing scientific research are all rather unattractive. But even going back four or five years, when I was in school, I rarely saw such handsome boys.

Moreover, her figure and appearance are both top-notch; she's truly exceptional.

Then I thought about how Lingling was really unfair; when did she get such a handsome boyfriend?

Coming to his senses, Shen Chengsi extended his hand to Wanqi Fuze and addressed him respectfully as "Mr. Chen".

Wanqi Fuze smiled and shook hands in return, showing no arrogance whatsoever.

Zhao Xiaojing secretly thought that although the other party looked young, he must be no ordinary person to be addressed as "Sir" by Shen Chengsi so respectfully. So she accompanied Shen Chengsi in putting on a good show.

Seeing their hands clasped together, Lingling couldn't help but think to herself, "No wonder Wanqi Fuze didn't say a word to her leaving the capital alone; he had secretly followed her all along."

The group sat together at one table, and an extra chair was added for Qi Le.

Qi Le was initially unwilling; she was naturally free-spirited, clever, and quirky. She was chatting happily with the man making barbecue when Wan Qi Fu Ze dragged her over.

Old Qi instructed Wanqi Fuze to keep a close eye on Lele, especially since she often painted late into the night in Florence, calling it "late-night inspiration," which had ruined her health prematurely. Now that she's back in China, it's crucial to ensure she gets a regular sleep schedule and eats properly.

He had promised Mr. Qi that he should keep a close eye on this friend.

Qi Leben also called him "Little Old Man," saying he was just as nosy as his grandfather. Yet, he would exclaim with delight when he saw the person sitting next to him at the table.

"cousin?!"

She pointed at Shen Chengsi with wide eyes, then looked at the person next to him.

His gaze lingered between Zhao Xiaojing and Shen Chengsi. Finally, Shen Chengsi couldn't hold back his laughter and stood up to give Qi Le a big hug.

"You said you wanted to see your sister-in-law, so here she is, I've brought her to you."

Shen Chengsi released Qi Le, who looked at her cousin in surprise, then at Wan Qifuze beside her. She had just returned to China for vacation and was stopped at the airport by Wan Qifuze as soon as she landed. Without even an explanation, he dragged her onto another plane.

Another three hours passed.

He only said he was inviting her on a relaxing vacation, but she wanted to return home to rest properly and had no desire to fly around unnecessarily. Besides, she wanted to go home to see her cousin's bride... which made her so angry that she beat Wanqi Fuze up on the plane.

Wanqi Fuze simply explained to her, "I won't let you down." So she could only enjoy the journey.

Y Province indeed boasts a mild climate and stunning scenery.

But she never expected that Wanqi Fuze brought her here so that she could see her long-lost family and her beloved future sister-in-law.

She was very close to Shen Chengsi when she was young. Because her parents worked in diplomacy and were rarely home, they sent her to live with her uncle. So she and Shen Chengsi were like siblings. But later, she studied and worked abroad, so she had very little time to see her family. Especially with her second cousin, who was even busier than her, she would not see him for several years at a time.

Seeing this now, I was naturally deeply moved.

Wanqi Fuze had always been able to handle things perfectly without saying a word since she was a child. She blinked her big eyes at her poor friend, whom she had beaten up just a few hours earlier, to express her gratitude, then called out "Sister-in-law" sweetly and powerfully, and ran towards Zhao Xiaojing.

Everyone burst into laughter.

But there was another person who was equally bewildered: Zhao Xiaojing, who was being held tightly in a hug.

Shen Chengsi pulled Qi Le off Xiao Jing and explained to her, "This brat is Tina, whom you were worried about not being able to invite. She's Qi Le, a rising star in the design world... and of course, my precious little sister."

Qi Le laughed and said to Chen Chengsi, "So that's what happened. It turns out you two were using the excuse of letting me relax to exploit me. You're truly wicked capitalists..."

Wanqi Fuze raised his hands in surrender. Shen Chengsi turned to Xiaojing and said, "We need to get rid of this bad reputation and squeeze her dry!"

Watching this scene unfold, Lingling realized that the two of them walking hand in hand into the hall of marriage would bring each other more family and warmth, and her heart felt warm as well. Silently, Wanqi Fuze tightened his grip on her hand.

Wanqi Fuze never ate much, so he only drank some wine. The rest of the group, having eaten and drunk their fill, prepared to go back to rest.

Wanqi Fuze first pulled Lingling's hand and stood up.

Shen Chengsi then stood up.

Wanqi Fuze gestured for him not to be reserved, and he simply said, "Get some rest."

Shen Chengsi watched the two figures disappear into the night, still lost in thought for a long time.

Xiaojing probably wanted to ask about the relationship between the two of them for a long time.

That's easy to explain.

Childhood playmates, and schoolmates. But there are certain roles that cannot be crossed, requiring him to respectfully address him as "Mr. Chen".

As for his real surname, he naturally knew it perfectly well. But what he knew even more clearly was that he couldn't say it. Only someone as carefree as his cousin could still consider a former friend as someone he could talk to about anything.

But it's all for the best. The lesson he learned as an adult is that all his hard work was for the sake of his family's comfort.

Lingling was already incredibly sleepy, but she was still forcing herself to stay awake.

Having him around is like having a flood or a ferocious beast; one must be wary.

So she hesitated for a minute when she reached the room door.

Should we let him in or not?

The room key was in the most conspicuous place in her bag, but she pretended not to see it and rummaged around for it.

Suddenly, a large hand reached out from behind, precisely pinched the thin card, and stuck it to the door lock.

The sound of a "beep" made Lingling's heart skip a beat.

She found herself not feeling disgusted at that moment; on the contrary, the slight tremor seemed like a kind of joy.

The door was turned open by a large hand, and he tossed the room key back into her bag.

She went in first, but heard the person behind her say, "Get some rest."

Turning around, I saw him heading towards the elevator again.

The heavy carpet swallowed his footsteps, but she felt she could hear them clearly.

Then came the "ding-dong" of the elevator doors opening, and she closed the door as if resigned to her fate.
