0062 Muzzle Release (3)

Zhiwen called around noon, when He Lingling was with Qi Le.

On a huge white wall, Qi Le, wearing a leather smock, stood on a wooden ladder with a low bucket at her feet. She was humming a song and brushing beige paint onto the wall with her hands.

Located in the heart of City B, in an upscale residential area, the apartment isn't exactly "luxurious," but it's certainly incredibly expensive. And situated on a moderately high floor, the natural light and views are superb.

Lingling, a complete novice, was temporarily pulled in by Qi Le, and since she had nothing else to do, she came to "supervise the work."

Qi Le was busy creating, so Lingling looked around on her own. This neighborhood was located in a commercial area, a prime location with very convenient transportation. It was also close to the Normal University; if you started from here, it would only take twenty minutes to get to the school without traffic.

Before He Lingling could even sigh, she heard a burst of upbeat rock music, which startled her.

Upon realizing it, one can't help but marvel at how extraordinary this top designer's taste in music truly is...

The person standing on the wooden ladder turned around and called out to her, "Lingling, help me put my phone up here."

He Lingling retrieved her phone and paused when she saw the name on it.

All that could be heard was Qi Le taking out his phone and giving a few perfunctory replies: "I know, I know, why are you being so nosy... Do you think I'll let her go hungry? I need to eat too, okay...?"

The last sentence of the conversation was "Those evil capitalists!" Qi Le hung up the phone and went down the escalator. Then he put his arm around Lingling's shoulder and said, "Let's go eat!"

Then, remembering that he was unclean, he jumped up and laughed like a monkey.

Qi Le took off her smock and looked at the half-painted wall, asking her, "Does this color look good?"

Lingling nodded. She really liked the warm-toned walls; they looked cozy and comfortable, unlike the cold atmosphere of Songhan Residence... Little did she realize that her complaints sounded exactly like those of the owner...

After finishing her meal, Qi Le continued working, occasionally turning around to ask Ling Ling for her opinion. Although Ling Ling didn't understand, she still offered her suggestions as best she could.

She felt it wasn't right for her to "meddle" in Shen Chengsi and Xiaojing's house, but fortunately Qi Le didn't disagree with her at all. Instead, she happily said, "I think so too."

As evening approached, Qi Le finally finished her day's work. Lingling felt that Qi Le was truly doing what she loved; she could spend the entire day working without complaining of being tired. She knew this wasn't just because it was Qi Le's cousin's house that she was so personally involved; she could see her passion in her expression and seriousness.

Qi Le is very dedicated to this residence.

In the near future, Xiaojing will also begin her new life here.

Through the window, you can see Shengyue across the street. Qi Le handed Lingling a cup of still-steaming coffee.

“When we were kids, Brother Han had the most cunning and shrewd business aura.”

Lingling followed her gaze to Shengyue not far away. She knew that Wanqi Fuze was a member of that hotel.

She coughed lightly: "...What about Wanqi?"

Qi Le seemed surprised that He Lingling would suddenly ask such a question, and looked at her with a smile: "Aze is secretly bad."

After she finished speaking, Lingling couldn't help but laugh along with her. She knew exactly what that person looked like.

Always doing bad things without making a sound.

"Ah!" Qi Le slapped his forehead, "I forgot about the important matter!"

Lingling watched as she frantically flipped through her phone's photo album, then held the screen up to her face.

"Lingling, would you like to adopt a dog?"

The phone screen showed a very fine golden retriever puppy, still young and incredibly cute, yet its eyes already hinted at a spirited nature.

Qi Le's question was so sudden that Lingling was stunned for a while.

Seeing her expression, Qi Le assumed she wasn't interested in keeping a dog and explained, "My grandfather is old and in poor health, so it's not suitable for us to have a pet. But I don't want to give him away. It's okay if you don't want to, but please don't tell Aze. If he finds out I dared to ask you for help, he'll definitely give me a good scolding..."

Seeing her misunderstanding, Lingling quickly shook her head: "I didn't mean to refuse. I had a puppy before, but it got sick and passed away. So I'm a little worried that I won't be able to take good care of it..."

She looked at the photo again as she spoke, and felt an immediate connection with the dog just from seeing the picture.

She said softly, "...Can I think about it some more?"

"Of course!" Qi Le said with a smile, seeing her cautious look. "But you have to ask Aze to send another good painting to my old man."

Lingling was stunned.

"I say, why do these two or three lousy businessmen with no artistic talent bother to collect so many famous paintings? Do they even understand them? All they do is use paintings for investment and business, defiling these works of art..."

"But my grandfather is just as cunning. Last time, for such a huge project like Songhan Residence, Wanqi Fuze only paid me a pittance. Later, I found out what he gave my grandfather..." Qi Le sighed and shook his head at this point. "I really don't know where Aze got those things. They're worth more than my entire life's salary... And the old man didn't even tell me. Don't you think all people who understand economics are such shrewd businessmen..."

It took Lingling a while to process the meaning of those words. Whether it was Songhanju or Wanqifuze sending the painting, these were things she had never known before... But she caught the last sentence first.

She felt that Qi Le looked familiar, so when Qi Le mentioned that her grandfather studied economics, a thought suddenly flashed into her mind.

She had met Qi Le not only during her graduation trip many years ago, but also at the dinner table with Mr. Qi that time...

It turns out they had this kind of relationship.

She never wondered why such a renowned economist would invite an unknown junior like her to lunch.

But she had to admit that he seemed to be by her side all the time, in her life.

She looked at the light on her phone; it was a text message.

The car parked downstairs to pick her up must have been arranged by him.

But will he be in the car?

P.S.: When your wife goes out for a while, your son keeps calling every few minutes. I advise you not to be so clingy!
