After just one afternoon of tidying up, the shop, named "The Troubleshooter's General Store," officially opened for business the next day.
Without a grand opening ceremony or lively promotional activities, the Relief General Store quietly opened in the inner street. Even the owner of the breakfast shop next door was stunned. When did another shop open here? I remember it was a stationery store before.
Ye Chen didn't care about this. He comfortably leaned against the glass window of the shop entrance with a recliner and read a book. This was a habit he had developed over the past year of living alone in the lord's mansion. As for whether there were customers in the shop or whether it could make a profit, that was not within his consideration.
He didn't open this shop to make a profit, but to make it a shop of adventure, a general store that brings adventure to the students of Hope Academy.
With a serendipitous encounter, one gains abilities, money, and a whole host of other things, fulfilling one's wishes and relieving one's worries.
"Boss, what do you sell in this shop? I remember there was a werewolf selling stationery here before?" Around nine o'clock, the breakfast shop owner's business gradually slowed down, and he asked Ye Chen while packing up his things.
Hearing someone call his name, Ye Chen put down his book, looked at the person, and smiled. "The Troubleshooting General Store sells everything from all over the world. The things you buy may not be useful, but they will definitely relieve your worries!"
"Wow! That's quite a boast!" the breakfast shop owner laughed, feeling that Ye Chen was just bragging.
Ye Chen smiled and didn't say much. Instead, he looked at the other person's stall and said, "You're selling steamed buns, right? Your business looks pretty good this morning. I haven't had breakfast yet, so how about I have a couple of steamed buns to try?"
"Alright, is today your first day of business? Here, have these two steamed buns as a celebration! But these are all vegetarian buns, no meat!" The owner laughed heartily, generously wrapping two buns for Ye Chen and handing them over, while curiously glancing into the shop.
Unfortunately, the shop was dimly lit, so he couldn't see anything clearly. He could only see some mithril, branches, and other items on the counter through the glass next to Ye Chen, and immediately guessed that it was a shop selling magical items.
These kinds of shops are very common in Gold Rush Street. After all, Hope Academy has many magic apprentices and various professionals. Their studies consume a lot of magical items, so these kinds of shops are often very profitable.
"Thanks then, vegetarian is just right, good for your health!" Ye Chen didn't stand on ceremony, took the buns handed to him and started eating. To be honest, the vegetarian food made by the minotaurs tasted really good.
The breakfast shop owner is a minotaur. Despite his fierce appearance, minotaurs are actually quite gentle and rarely kill. Their food is mainly vegetarian. On this inner street, most of the shop owners are from other races, which is a testament to the Academy's care for these races.
The benefits shouldn't all go to the Ani people. Since the academy is located next to New Ani City, the businesses here should offer some discounts to others.
"Young man, you've got some connections. You're selling magical items, aren't you?" The minotaur shopkeeper stared at Ye Chen with his copper bell-like eyes and asked.
"I suppose so! Some low-class stuff. As for connections, how can you open a shop in this back alley without connections?" Ye Chen said with a faint smile, while the minotaur nodded in deep agreement.
“You’re right. You can’t open a shop in the inner street without connections. It’s a pity that all I can do is sell breakfast and food!” The minotaur said with a hint of melancholy. He felt that Ye Chen was like him, and he had to rely on his clan’s connections to open a shop here. Unfortunately, the minotaurs didn’t have many good things to sell. As for their specialty, the herbal medicine shop, they had already opened one in the inner street.
"Food is the most important thing for people. Breakfast and grains are necessities of life, right? I think your skills are pretty good, boss!" Ye Chen gestured to the steamed bun in his hand. The skin was thin, the filling was plentiful, and the taste was delicious. At least he had never eaten such delicious steamed buns on Earth.
"Hey! Food is the most important thing for people, you're right! I'm called Sain, what's yours?" The minotaur was very generous, and upon hearing the words of satisfaction, he gladly made acquaintance with Ye Chen.
"Human Ye Fan, it's a pleasure to meet such a generous minotaur like you. If you ever encounter any trouble, you can come to me at the Relief General Store!" Ye Chen smiled and pointed to the sign on the door. The minotaur immediately nodded.
"Don't worry! Sain has no worries. If he does, he'll just go for a run on the grassland!" Sain said with a smile. Just then, a group of people came to buy breakfast. Sain patted Ye Chen's shoulder with his thick hooves and went back, almost breaking his rocking chair in the process.
"You'd better be gentler next time, or you'll have to pay for my chair and medical bills!" Ye Chen said with heartache. He had made this rocking chair himself when he had nothing else to do!
"Hahaha! No problem! I'll send you a sturdy one in a couple of days!" the minotaur laughed.
Ye Chen lay back in the chair, marveling at the beauty of the world. In the lord's mansion, apart from the cold, impersonal walls, when would he have the chance to chat with his neighbors like this?
"Boss? Is this a newly opened shop? What do you sell?" A gentle voice sounded beside Ye Chen, startling him awake. He grabbed the book that had been covering his face, and was immediately startled by the blinding light.
"Hiss! This Di Jun is too bright!" Ye Chen gasped, unable to help but complain in his heart.
It took him a while to adjust to the brightness around him. When he looked up, he saw two girls in red school uniforms standing outside his shop, carrying backpacks and textbooks, curiously looking at the goods inside.
"Boss?" Seeing that Ye Chen hadn't responded for a long time, a girl asked again.
"Hiss! I took a day off in the afternoon and a busy day in the morning. It's already noon when I open my eyes!" Ye Chen shook his head helplessly and turned his attention back to the two girls.
"What a coincidence, the first guests are students from the magic academy? What level are they?" Ye Chen glanced at the books in their arms and immediately understood, then looked at the two of them and asked with a smile.
The two girls were about the same height, but one of them was slightly chubby. They were both fourteen or fifteen years old. At this age, they were obviously not in a regular class, but in the academy's special class, where they would learn the knowledge of various professions.
"Apprentice level!" the slightly chubby girl replied, seemingly captivated by Ye Chen's lazy demeanor as he lay in the rocking chair. Her gaze darted away from him, and her cheeks flushed slightly.
Handsome people are handsome no matter what environment or situation they are in! After all, being handsome is a lifelong thing!
