Chapter 423 The Army Strikes

"Kill!!" The sounds of drums beating and fighting filled the air, accompanied by painful roars and cries of agony.

Cecilia and the others finished teleporting, and before they could even see their surroundings clearly, they heard the mournful sounds all around them.

"This?" As their vision slowly returned, Cecilia and the others scanned their surroundings but did not see any signs of war until they looked into the distance and discovered the battlefield on the outskirts, which resembled a meat grinder.

"Are those dark creatures? They're terrifying!" Sarah stared at a hideous dark predator in the distance, her face filled with horror.

Whether it was the other world they had traveled to before or the primordial planet they had later encountered, they had seen all sorts of magical beasts. Some of these magical beasts looked truly terrifying, but compared to these dark creatures, they were nothing at all.

The Dark Predators are shrouded in a dark aura, and just looking at them can inspire fear, let alone fighting them to the death.

"Whose clan are you? Where is your lord? Don't just stand there like idiots! Can't you see the killing frenzy outside? There's a huge number of dark ghouls coming from the three o'clock direction. Go and provide support!" The army hadn't moved yet, and a lord was already shouting. Every second, clan members were dying here. It was such a waste for such a large army to just stand here and watch!

"Take your people and come with me!" It was Bella who spoke, the only Silver Laurel Moon Elf who came with the army. These were all newcomers who had never fought against the darkness and needed someone to lead them through a baptism of blood. As the headmistress of the Elf Royal Academy, Bella was naturally the best choice.

"Yes!" Cecilia and Harold responded in unison, following Bella toward the three o'clock direction. The well-trained army remained orderly even in such a terrifying situation, which made the surrounding lords envious. They wondered whose army this was, noting that it was not only numerous but also highly trained.

Of course, aside from those mercenary groups that occasionally wander off, their strength is something they also envy. A large number of Tier 4 units are what many low-level lords crave, and the strong naturally have the right to be capricious.

“I’ve introduced you to the information about the Dark Ghouls before. They are a group of undead creatures corrupted by darkness. They are much stronger than normal ghouls, but still within the same level. Just be careful not to get contaminated by the dark aura when you fight them.” Bella said to the group through amplification magic as they walked.

Seeing the calm dean of the academy, many people felt a little relieved. Even though most of them were not students of the Elf Royal Academy, the Elf Royal Dean was seen as an omnipotent figure in the minds of most people in New Aini City.

"Don't worry, Dean, we've already passed on the message, and they'll take it seriously!" Harold nodded and said. As one of the first students to graduate from the Royal Elf Academy, Bella was one of the few people Harold respected.

“Yes! The army here has also undergone special training!” Cecilia nodded in agreement. Even as the city lord and king, he could not ignore Bella’s status.

"That's fine!" Bella nodded and said nothing more. She cast a large-scale sixth-order wind spell, granting everyone the Lightness spell. Then she whistled towards the sky, and a large number of fire crows descended, with one fire crow landing next to each person.

"Everyone, get on your fire crows! At this rate, by the time you arrive, the territory will have already fallen!" Bella shouted.

The territory of the new lord is not large, but it is still relatively small compared to other lords. For this group of people who are only at the first or second rank, even a territory the size of a small island would be enough for them to run around for half a day. Not to mention that these territories are now connected, so if they really ran on foot, they would probably have to run from morning to night.

"Wow! Awesome!" After carefully mounting the fire crow, everyone's eyes revealed a hint of excitement.

Cecilia's army was alright, after all, they had the military's management style, and no one dared to make a loud noise.

Harold's mercenary guild, however, was unconcerned, and cries of alarm could already be heard coming from behind Fire Raven.

For them, being able to soar through the starry sky with only first or second-tier strength was something they never dared to dream of before. This awesome achievement would be something they could brag about for the rest of their lives.

"Caw~~~Caw~~~" The fire crows, dissatisfied with the noisy sounds on their backs, cried out in displeasure, but unfortunately, the mercenaries couldn't understand what they meant.

"Whoosh~~~" A large flock of fire crows flew by, and one warrior after another leaped down from them, joining the battlefield before them.

The territory they were supporting belonged to a lord whose main kin were dwarves. At this moment, the dwarves were using their cannons and warhammers to continuously repel the dark ghouls' attacks. However, their firearms were far inferior to those of the fat man's goblins, and their battle lines were constantly retreating.

Swarms of dark ghouls poured in, and before the smoke and dust could even clear after a round of firearms bombardment, even more rushed in to fight the dwarves at the front.

The hundreds of dwarves were essentially using their bodies to withstand the enemy's attack, creating opportunities for the ranged units behind them to launch their own attacks. However, if things continued as they were, the dwarves in front would likely be wiped out in less than half an hour, and might not even be needed at all.

"Shieldbearers, advance and hold off the Dark Ghouls' attack! Ranged units, prepare to attack as soon as possible!" Within seconds of landing, Cecilia had a clear view of the surrounding situation and quickly gave orders to her troops.

"Everyone be careful not to get tainted by the black aura. The Mercenary Guild should cooperate with the army's operations as much as possible, prioritizing the handling of high-level dark creatures. Everyone should use their strength wisely!" Harold shouted loudly. Unlike the army, the Mercenary Guild was a disorganized group that could only fight individually in small teams.

"Roar~~~" A large number of ghouls roared as they came, and the dwarves who were blocking them were in a daze. One dwarf saw that the claws were already reaching his head, as if they could perform brain surgery on him in the next second, but he only heard a muffled sound and a tall figure blocked his way.

"Hey! Dwarf friend! Go take a break in the back, we're here!" The Aenei warrior, wielding a large shield, laughed at him, sweeping his shield, which was as tall as himself, across the dark ghoul in front of him.

Moreover, when he turned around, he saw a large number of races he had never seen before surging in, taking over the front lines they had been guarding.
