Chapter 52 The Tall City Wall

After a brief respite, an even fiercer storm is brewing.

A dozen or so pure white jade rabbits hopped around, healing the mountain gods and the land gods and restoring their strength.

The moonlight shone down, adding a touch of haziness to the dark night sky.

Then the mountain god and the earth gods stood up, and rows of tall, thick earthen walls rose up, surrounding everyone's territory.

The heavy rocks were moved by the mountain god to strengthen the city walls.

The swift and efficient actions of the twenty people stunned even the mountain giants who fed on rocks. Where did these little guys, who were less than half their own height, get such good stamina and strength?

"Really! Really! Really amazing!" Zhou Wenbin exclaimed as he rested on the pile of rubble. Compared to his Mountain Giant, which seemed to have no advantage other than being larger in size.

"Of course! I wonder what Brother Chen's lord talent is? The mutated members of his clan are all incredibly strong! They're all starting at rank 3!" The fat man nodded in admiration.

Aside from the basic Moon Elf, Moon Goddess, Mountain God, Earth God... all of them are initial Tier 3 Familiars.

“Yes! Yes! Even those people! Harmless rabbits! Rabbits! Also! Also! Have Tier 3!” Zhou Wenbin stammered, but received unanimous agreement from everyone.

"I really didn't expect that my Red Rainbow Bird would be inferior to a bunch of little white rabbits?" Le Xinghai rested his chin on his hands, looking utterly dejected.

"Come on, at least the Red Bird has room to grow. My goblin will only reach Tier 2 at most, which is not even as high as its initial level!"

"Alas...some people spend their whole lives searching for Rome, while others are born in Rome..."

Where is Rome?

"I think it's in Italy in Western Europe?"

...

While everyone else chatted and joked, Ye Chen directed his clan to diligently build the city wall.

Without the interference of dark creatures, the construction of the city walls was relatively easy.

After all, this is the original profession of the land and mountain gods, which is much better than the earth magicians of today.

The thick, sturdy city wall rose up to everyone's astonishment.

The city walls are over ten meters high, so high that even a mountain giant couldn't see the top at a glance.

"Brother Chen, I swear, I'll never joke around with these old men again!" the fat man exclaimed in surprise. It was the first time he had ever realized that these old men were so strong.

"Stop flattering me. You've had enough rest. Let your goblin lay landmines, and the Red Bird will assist you!" Ye Chen slapped his fat head away and said irritably.

Constructing a massive city wall that could encircle hundreds of acres of land was a considerable drain on the mountain god and the land god, who were now resting on the ground. The work to come next was the work of the fat man and his companions.

"Alright, I guarantee I'll complete the mission!" the fat man said, patting his chest.

The two fat men, one big and one small, led their respective clans and ran towards the outside of the city wall. Along with them were Lu Zi'ang's Azure Scale Serpent Clan.

The Green-Scaled Serpent Man's tail can effectively bury traces on the ground, preventing it from being discovered.

Meanwhile, the red-crowned bird continuously transported magic crystal bombs through the air.

In just over an hour, the fat man and his hundreds of goblins worked together to create thousands of magic crystal bombs.

If he hadn't run out of low-level magic crystals, he probably could have fed one to each member of the herd.

Fortunately, this is enough for now. With such a large horde of beasts, a single magic crystal bomb might not only kill one.

"Le Xinghai, we can send some Red-crowned Birds out to scout ahead and confirm whether the area is still occupied by the Dire Wolf pack?" Ye Chen said to the chubby Le Xinghai after most of the landmines had been laid.

"Okay!" The chubby boy nodded, and several more red birds flew out and disappeared into the darkness.

Now that there are enough magic crystals, apart from the ones necessary to sustain Zhou Wenxuan's life, the rest have been used to expand the army.

The number of Red Birds has exceeded one thousand, surpassing the number they had when they robbed Ye Chen and his group.

The number of Greenscale Serpent People and Hill Dwarfs has also reached more than two hundred each, more than double the previous number.

Only the Mountain Giants, due to the cooldown period for recruitment, have not seen a significant increase in numbers.

A dozen minutes later, several red birds flew back and chirped around the chubby boy.

Although beast-kin and lords cannot communicate directly, they can generally understand each other's meanings.

"Brother Chen, that area is still occupied by the dire wolf pack, but it seems that some of the dire wolves have changed in appearance, as if they have evolved!" the chubby boy said with a hint of worry as he returned.

"Their appearance has changed? The peak strength of a dire wolf is tier 3. If they have truly evolved, then these dire wolves are probably already tier 4!" Ye Chen's expression changed slightly. Tier 4 dire wolves already exceeded the strength they could currently handle.

"I estimate so, but there aren't many of these dire wolves, only about five!"

"Five monsters? That doesn't mean we can't fight them. Let your Red Bird lure the monsters, prioritizing the weaker ones outside. We'll try to take them out in batches!"

Ye Chen thought for a moment and said that there was no better time than now. If we waited any longer, other dark races might come. After all, this was the entrance and exit, and it was in the early stages of high tide. The roars of beasts in the distance were becoming more and more frequent.

"Okay!" Le Xinghai nodded and turned to make the arrangements.

The others took their positions on the city wall, waiting for the enemy to arrive.

Ye Chen even had the landmen thicken the outer layer of soil to prevent these magic crystal bombs from being detonated by the initial low-level dire wolves, which would be a waste.

"Tsk, a pack of dire wolves, the exciting moment is about to begin!" The fat man looked on with anticipation, his expression a mixture of excitement and fear.

"If you're going to get excited, then stop hiding behind me, grabbing my arm, and shaking like that," Ye Chen said, turning around with a hint of annoyance. Typical example of someone who's bad at games but loves to play.

"Where? Where? Where did you shake? Who's hiding behind you?" The fat man stood up straight, raised his neck, and retorted defiantly.

"Awoo~~~" Just then, the howling of wolves rang out in the distance, accompanied by a slight tremor in the ground, indicating that a large pack of dire wolves was charging towards them.

The fat man who had just peeked out was so frightened that he shrank back behind Ye Chen before he could even finish speaking.

"Noob!" Ye Chen curled his lip, too lazy to pay attention to him, and looked seriously towards the outside of the city.

Pairs of scarlet eyes flickered in the darkness, chasing after several rapidly flying figures ahead.

The red-crowned birds dared not fly too high to avoid escaping the hatred of the dire wolves, but this also put them in danger.

The dire wolves were exhausted from running at high speed, but thankfully they were finally getting home.
