With Ye Zhen as a demonstration, the first lesson for everyone else also went very smoothly. As the Great Compassion Mantra was chanted, even the noisiest class had to quiet down. Its power was comparable to the Analects of Confucius. The entire Weird High School was under the rule of the Great Compassion Mantra!
Many university professors and deans of teaching came to see what was going on after hearing about it. However, as the purification effect of the Great Compassion Mantra appeared, these teachers who were originally strange creatures changed their expressions drastically, looked at Ye Zhen and the others in horror, and then slowly retreated.
Many teachers immediately realized that these were not temporary tutors applying for a job, but a group of powerful individuals who were about to turn this strange high school upside down!
However, it was only the first day, and even though these strange creatures were unwilling, they were intimidated by the pressure of the Great Compassion Mantra and did not come to cause trouble for them so soon, allowing everyone to spend the day in peace.
That evening, everyone gathered again in Zhulong's room. The success of the first day did not make them complacent, and they had not come solely for the mission.
“It seems that this is the rule for teachers. As long as we attend classes on time according to the current schedule, leaving here in ten days shouldn’t be a problem!” Lynn said.
“But our goal is not to leave here in ten days, but to find the rules in the other wooden houses!” Zhulong frowned. He was unusually not bound by the rules on the first day. With the Great Compassion Mantra paving the way, he easily finished the first lesson.
“That’s good, so I think we can divide the work tomorrow. Some of us can start with those students, and the other group can go find other teachers to see if we can get more useful information?” Ye Zhen nodded. There are quite a few teachers and students in the school, and they only have ten people, so time is still very tight.
"And what about teacher titles? Can we see if there's a way to get promoted quickly? If we could become a principal directly, things would be much easier from here on out!" Xuan Du said after thinking for a moment. This was the quickest way.
“That makes sense, Rabbit. Why don’t you go talk to that headless principal tomorrow? He definitely knows more about the other cabins!” Kunpeng agreed, as getting the principal on his side was undoubtedly the quickest way.
"I'll try tomorrow, but the principal is probably the person with the highest authority in this cabin, so he shouldn't be so easily persuaded!"
"Then let's settle on this for now. Some of you who are good at talking can go and sound out the other teachers. A few of us will go and check on the students. As for Ye Zhen, you can try to talk to the principal. Of course, safety is the most important thing!" Zhulong said, finally finalizing the plan.
After discussing the details for a while, everyone returned to their own rooms. As they walked down the corridor, they inevitably encountered the stares of the strange creatures. However, perhaps because the reputation of the Great Compassion Mantra had spread today, the hostility of these strange creatures had lessened considerably, clearly indicating that they did not want to easily antagonize the group.
Ye Zhen pushed open the door and thought for a moment, but did not go into the room. Instead, she said to Bella beside her, "You go in first. I'll chat with the neighbor next door for a while and get to know her better!"
Bella was taken aback. Seeing several strange creatures peeking out from the next room, she nodded and transmitted her voice, "Then be careful. Call me if anything happens!"
Ye Zhen nodded, and after Bella entered the room and closed the door, she put on a sweet smile and walked towards the next room, where a long-haired female ghost in red was staring at them for a long time. When she saw Ye Zhen coming, she subconsciously shrank back into the door.
"Hello! I'm a new temporary teacher. Are you also a teacher at this school? What do you teach?" Ye Zhen asked, with a smile that made people feel close to her and trust her.
“Yes! Yes… teaching phobias…” The long-haired female ghost hesitated for a moment, then spoke up.
"Wow, phobia studies? That sounds amazing! Could you teach me sometime?" Ye Zhen looked surprised and her eyes were full of admiration as she looked at the other person.
"I...I can..."
"Hehe! Thanks a lot! I'll come see you when I have time!"
"Okay...okay!"
"By the way, I'm new here, so I don't know if there are any special rules for staying here at night?" After exchanging pleasantries, Ye Zhen finally asked about the purpose of their visit. This was a strange high school, and since they were new, no one knew if there would be any rules restricting them at night.
"Rules? Don't open the door after the lights are out!" The long-haired female ghost thought for a moment and replied. Hearing this, Ye Zhen was overjoyed. She hadn't expected to actually get some information out of her.
"Don't open the door after the lights are out? Is there some danger? Are there any other rules?" Ye Zhen asked curiously, but she didn't expect the long-haired female ghost to seem frightened. She looked around in terror and slammed the door shut without saying a word.
"This?" Ye Zhen was taken aback. The other party closed the door too suddenly, as if they had received some kind of warning.
"Lights out soon. If you have nothing else to do, feel free to go back to your room!" A hoarse voice sounded behind her. Ye Zhen's heart skipped a beat. She turned around and saw a tall figure wearing a tattered cloak and holding an iron chain standing at the end of the corridor. The figure was hidden in the darkness and difficult to spot.
Ye Zhen frowned slightly, then smiled calmly and said, "Okay!"
After saying that, he didn't linger and turned back to his room.
"How did it go?" Bella asked with concern when she saw Ye Zhen return.
"It's not a complete loss! Let me tell everyone not to open the door after the lights are out. This is information we got from the monster!" Ye Zhen said. Although communication tools from the outside world were no longer working in the cabin, Bella, as a high-level elementalist of the elven race, still had a way to stay in touch with the others.
"Don't open the door after the lights are out? Okay!" Bella nodded and, without further ado, quickly sent the message to everyone.
Ye Zhen glanced towards the dormitory door. If she wasn't mistaken, the person she had just seen was likely one of the few supernatural beings capable of walking outside after lights out. But what was his identity? A patrolman? A security guard? A dormitory manager? Or something else entirely?
As for the rule of not opening the door after lights out, it's probably not a rule in the cabin, but just a rule in the school. So even if they do open the door, they'll probably only encounter something terrifying, and won't be eliminated by the rule. As long as they're strong enough, they should be able to handle it.
However, it's hard to say whether dealing with these terrifying events will trigger any additional rules or restrictions. At least in my mother's opinion, there's no need to break any rules!
