Chapter 88 The Crisis Comes

From the survivors who left behind, Shi Peng learned that there were more than ten people searching nearby for villagers who were out working in the fields or hunting. Shi Peng immediately decided to go and rescue them. After all, the sound of their gunfire just now must have made the remaining people alert, and accidents were inevitable.

Two groups of six people were quickly left behind to treat and resettle the remaining villagers, and to prevent the criminals from suddenly returning.

Shi Peng led the team away. He took the two of them into the mountains. The terrain there was complicated, and there were many villagers hunting and collecting mountain products, so he was the only one who could go.

The other two teams went to the terraced fields on the nearby mountains to rescue villagers who were doing farm work.

But Chu Xi was a little confused, because when she teleported to the nearby hilltop, she felt that more than a dozen villagers who were captured in the direction of the terraced fields were being brutally abused.

The men were knocked unconscious one after another, and the women were dragged into the woods. With the black muzzles of guns pointed at them, no one dared to resist.

On the other side, the back of her man was leaving. Perhaps some unknown danger was waiting for him...

But she couldn't just stand by and watch the villagers being bullied by the thugs. She thought that with the man's ability, he should be able to handle it for a while.

Having made up his mind, Chu Xi quickly came to the forest near the terraced fields and saw a girl who was only about fourteen years old had been knocked unconscious and had her clothes stripped off. The murderer was about to take off his shirt.

Chu Xi immediately sent a space blade, directly cutting his throat. The man immediately frowned, veins popped, cold sweat broke out on his face, and hot blood gushed out of his neck instantly...

Not daring to waste time, she killed the criminals in the woods one by one, leaving only the villagers in surprise.

But looking at the several male villagers and three thugs tied up in the terraced fields, Chu Xi hesitated. If he saved them, the legends of gods and foxes would probably spread here...

No matter what, Chu Xi waited for a while, and when the three thugs were together and not paying attention to their surroundings, Chu Xi flashed forward and knocked them down directly.

All that was left was a fleeting white shadow, a slowly falling corpse, and the inexplicable horror in the eyes of the villagers.

As for the remaining rescue matters, she didn't care about them. She didn't want to care about them, and she couldn't care about them.

In her spiritual perception, her man had already disappeared. Chu Xi, anxious in her heart, began to regret her act of saving him. She had come thousands of miles just for Shi Peng, but now she had forgotten her man in order to save him.

I prayed silently in my heart, please don't let anything happen...

He quickly teleported back to the hilltop near the village, but when he scanned with his mental power, there was still no sign of Shi Peng.

While searching, I suddenly saw a figure running towards the village carrying a wounded man.

Aren’t these the other two members of Shi Peng’s three-person tactical team?

Quickly came nearby and felt it carefully.

From their report to the deputy captain, we learned that Shi Peng and his two companions encountered three kidnapped girls. The five mercenaries were quite cunning and kept hiding behind the hostages. They took their safety into consideration and rarely had the opportunity to shoot.

Shi Peng had no choice but to use himself as bait, and a gunfight eventually broke out. He only killed two people, but one of his own men was seriously injured. Shi Peng was also slightly injured, but he insisted on the order to send the patient back, and he rode a motorcycle to catch up.

Ignoring their subsequent arrangements, Chu Xi followed the direction they came from and quickly teleported to the battlefield. The bodies of the two mercenaries were still warm, and two gray wolves were ready to move nearby. A road with obvious wheel tracks led into the distance...

It is really not easy to find such a dirt road surrounded by mountains. Chu Xi didn't have time to think about it and chased after it directly.

But today's mental energy consumption was already very great, and Chu Xi was already a little exhausted. But she was afraid, afraid that the nightmare would really happen...

I could only narrow the range of my mental power and track it along the dirt road.

After chasing for nearly an hour, it was getting dark, but there was still no trace of Shi Peng and the others. Chu Xi began to get nervous and worried.

However, what she didn't know was that she had chased the wrong target...

Chu Xi, whose mental power was almost exhausted, quickly returned to the space. She first drank a pot of magical spring water in big gulps, and then ate a rare treasure that was hard to come by in the apocalypse, which replenished some of her mental power. However, the mental power that was slowly recovering was like a drop in the bucket, far from enough for her to squander.

Without even taking a look at the little stone who had fallen asleep in the children's room, Chu Xi left the space directly and prepared to continue tracking.

Suddenly, Chu Xi felt a pang in her heart. She turned directly to the southwest. There, Shi Peng was in great danger...

In a valley nearly 80 kilometers away from his original village, Shi Peng did encounter a crisis.

He chased for nearly three hours despite being injured, and only stopped when the motorcycle in front ran out of fuel. However, he was helpless facing three assailants and three hostages.

Finally, after enduring the severe pain and speeding up to get in front of them, he seized the opportunity to kill one of them, but he also paid the price of being shot in the left arm. Even more dangerous was that a dozen more bandits suddenly appeared. As a new force, they were full of mental and physical strength. He was alone and seriously injured...

And so, the hunter became the hunted...

The mercenaries, who had lost several of their companions, were chasing Shi Peng relentlessly. They were angry and humiliated and had nothing to say to the second leader who died before he could accomplish his mission, but for them, the loss of not completing the mission and not getting paid was a huge loss.

Just like that, I retreated and fled all the way. Fortunately, the moon was bright at night, so I didn't lose my way...

Shi Peng, who was starting to have a fever all over, could not eat any more. Fortunately, there were many wild fruits and abundant water sources in the forest, so he had enough water to replenish his body.
