Chapter 26

Chapter 26

Liang Xun took Lin Shengwen back home.

Even though he could hardly open his eyes, Lin Shengwen simply washed his body before lying down on the bed and falling into a deep sleep.

Liang Xun knew that Lin Shengwen had a mild case of mysophobia, or perhaps because of his awareness of sterility as a doctor, he would go straight to the bathroom whenever he returned home in the midsummer.

He looked at Lin Shengwen's tired sleeping face, reached out and touched his lips, thought for a while, lowered his head, secretly kissed Lin Shengwen, and then quietly left Lin Shengwen's room.

Lin Shengwen nearly fell into a coma, finally waking up nearly ten hours later. Outside, the sun was blazing, and the cicadas chirped intermittently. Fortunately, Lin Shengwen had handed over his work before leaving the hospital and had taken a day off, avoiding any unexplained absence that would affect the work schedules of others in the department.

He took the phone from the bedside table, checked the time, and opened the messaging app.

Li Ye sent him a lot of messages, but he didn't click on them to reply one by one. Instead, he slid his finger down and opened the chat interface with Yu Minjun.

The last time he and Yu Minjun had any contact was before and after Yu Minjun's visit, and then there was the emergency report he made to Yu Minjun before rushing back to Ting City from Country S.

Calculating the time, Yu Minjun should have already taken his scheduled flight back to Ting City. His latest message came half an hour ago, and Lin Shengwen read his messages one by one.

Yu Minjun: "Shengwen, thank you for rushing back to Ting City. I heard what happened. You did a great job and saved the patient's life."

Yu Minjun: "The patient's family came to visit the hospital and were very dissatisfied with the second surgery, believing it to be a medical malpractice. The medical department wanted to explain, but they had already contacted the media to expose the matter privately."

Yu Minjun: "Right now, public opinion is very unfavorable to the hospital and our department. Director Hong's suggestion is that you should rest at home for two days until the public relations are sorted out."

Lin Shengwen raised his hand and pressed it on his solar plexus. Although he had anticipated this development, he still felt heavy-hearted when faced with misfortune. He opened the videos pushed by several media accounts.

In the video, Hou Ying's family insisted that it was the hospital's responsibility. The first operation was unsuccessful and instead made her condition worse. The hospital performed a second operation without notifying her family.

Hou Ying herself was put on a ventilator due to respiratory failure after the operation by Zhou Xin. Her CM-S symptoms would cause extreme discomfort in her throat, and the recovery period was long. She was unable to speak and even had difficulty breathing.

Seeing her like this, the family members blamed Lin Shengwen and the hospital for their negligence, and they were so emotional that they were almost hoarse. Naturally, the family members had no way of knowing that the first operation was performed by someone other than Lin Shengwen, and they simply put all the blame on Lin Shengwen, the attending physician.

Although his name was not explicitly mentioned, the reason why public opinion is called public opinion is that it can be ignited by a single point. Someone in the comment section had already made his name and photo public and attacked him.

Lin Shengwen moved his finger and the next video popped up.

Hong Li's face was reflected in the background of the hospital. He faced the camera and said seriously, "We strictly follow the regulations in treating patients and will not cover up any doctor's mistakes. The doctor involved has been suspended and the investigation is ongoing."

Lin Shengwen sneered, exited the video interface, and then clicked on a long string of messages from Li Ye.

The gist of it is that Zhou Xin clearly committed a crime, and now Hou Ying's family has gone to the media and put pressure on the hospital and the department, but he got away with it and went to work normally as if nothing had happened.

Li Ye was indignant: "I just think this is unfair. He stole your patient and performed surgery beyond his authority, but he's fine and you're suspended."

Finally, Li Ye sent another long message: "I'm so disappointed! The dean threw a basin of dirty water on you too. I really can't stand this. This is too much!"

Li Ye: "Can you please reply to my message, you bastard? I'm so mad!"

Lin Shengwen typed a reply.

Lin Shengwen: "Don't be angry. I expected this to happen when I came back."

Li Ye: "Grandpa, you finally replied to me... Oh, by the way, has your husband come to take you home? I heard from the nurse at the nurse station that your husband is very handsome."

Lin Shengwen: “?”

Li Ye: "Hey, hey, hey, don't worry, I won't say anything more. What should we do now? You are temporarily suspended. The few patients you are currently responsible for are assigned to Zhou Xin - except for Hou Ying. Hou Ying is a hot potato right now. Her family is waiting in front of her ward. No doctor will be allowed to approach, as if they are afraid that we will harm her."

Lin Shengwen: "How is your recovery after surgery?"

Li Ye: "She's fine. She can get out of bed now. The medicine you prescribed for her is under the supervision of the nurse."

Lin Shengwen: "That's good."

Lin Shengwen: "Since I've been suspended, it's a good opportunity to take a few days off. Isn't that good?"

Li Ye: “…”

Lin Shengwen stretched his arms and legs, got out of bed, washed up and came out of the room, only to find an uninvited guest sitting in the living room.

——Lin Yunshen.

"Brother." He nodded to Lin Yunshen, then lowered his head again. Liang Xun's eyes were full of hope for help.

For some reason, Lin Yunshen did not sit on the sofa, but sat down at the dining table. He was looking at him at this moment, with no expression as usual.

Lin Shengwen glanced at the teacup in front of his brother, which was still emitting white steam. It seemed that his visit had not been too long, and he was probably still fast asleep at that time.

Liang Xun couldn't possibly neglect the big boss of his company. After hesitating for a while, he opened the door for him, made tea, cut two oranges and placed them in front of Lin Yunshen, and asked him to wait for him to get up.

Lin Shengwen approached Liang Xun, stood behind the chair he was sitting on, reached over Liang Xun's shoulders, as if he wanted to hug him in his arms, but he only took the teacup in front of Liang Xun.

He picked it up and took a sip of the tea. It was jasmine tea, very fragrant, but tasteless.

Lin Shengwen smiled brightly and asked, "Brother, why did you come to see me?" Lin Shengwen certainly knew what Lin Yunshen came for. After the Hou Ying incident, although his family background had not been investigated in depth for the time being, there was no guarantee that it would not be used to make a fuss one day.

"Mom and Dad will know." Lin Yunshen answered the question irrelevantly, stared at him for a while, and sighed.

"Well, that can't be helped," Lin Shengwen patted Liang Xun, "Liang Xun, go to the refrigerator and see what other ingredients are left at home."

Liang Xun nodded obediently: "Oh." He trotted into the kitchen and closed the door.

Lin Yunshen frowned. "No matter how much I try to hide it for you, I can't hide from my parents that you're married, and your partner is an employee of Mingsheng."

Lin Shengwen didn't react to this. He held Liang Xun's teacup and took another sip. After the warm tea went down his throat, his internal organs felt warm.

"I never thought I could keep it a secret from them forever," he admitted.

"...Aren't you afraid that your mother will make things difficult for him? She is definitely capable of forcing him to divorce you." Lin Yunshen said.

"He likes me." Lin Shengwen said.

Lin Yunshen was overwhelmed: "Is this the same thing?"

The two brothers faced each other for a long time, and no one spoke.

The kitchen door was opened a crack, and Liang Xun came out of the kitchen and told Lin Shengwen about the remaining ingredients in the refrigerator. Lin Shengwen was away on a business trip, so there were not many fresh vegetables and meat left, but there were some frozen dishes that he had prepared previously.

Lin Shengwen raised his eyes and asked Lin Yunshen, "Please do me the honor of having a meal, brother."

Lin Yunshen shook his head: "I still have to go to the airport to pick up your sister-in-law and children, so I won't stay long." After he said that, he stood up and glanced at Lin Shengwen again before leaving. He noticed the hands of Lin Shengwen and Liang Xun clasped together. His eyes moved up and he saw an unconcealable smile on the corner of Lin Shengwen's lips.

Over the years, he had rarely seen his brother so gentle.

After Lin Yunshen left, Liang Xun asked awkwardly, "So Mr. Lin already has a child. I thought he wasn't even married..."

"His child is studying in Country M, and his sister-in-law is accompanying him. They're rarely together, and Lin Yunshen is a workaholic. You think it's normal that he's not married," Lin Shengwen said. "It should be summer vacation soon, and his wife and children will be back. He must be going to pick them up. Don't be fooled by his appearance, he's actually a wife slave."

Liang Xun narrowed his eyes and looked at Lin Shengwen. He couldn't agree with his assessment that Lin Yunshen was a workaholic. Wasn't Lin Shengwen a workaholic himself? Why was he criticizing others?

Could it be that they are from the Lin family... a descendant of the same lineage?

When Lin Yunshen came, he had already told him that Lin Shengwen had been unilaterally suspended by the leaders of their hospital, but there was no time limit for this matter. After saying this, Lin Yunshen glanced at him and added that he would give Liang Xun a week's vacation.

Liang Xun refused.

The client for the sailing club he was working on was pressing him hard, and he couldn't afford to delay the project. While Mingsheng had plenty of people, he was undoubtedly the person most familiar with the project's progress. He had already taken the day off for Lin Shengwen and had a colleague oversee the work. Liang Xun felt bad for constantly asking his colleagues to do work that wasn't their job.

Lin Yunshen was silent for a while and didn't say much. He just waited for Lin Shengwen to get up.

But it seemed that the two of them had not reached an agreement. Lin Yunshen seemed to have come to really check on his brother's situation and show concern for him. After checking with Lin Shengwen and confirming that he was still alive, he got up and left.

As if realizing that Liang Xun was thinking about something, Lin Shengwen tugged at his wrist and pulled him into his arms.

The chairs at the dining table groaned under the weight of two grown men, but thankfully their structure was sturdy enough to hold them steady.

Liang Xun sat on Lin Shengwen's thighs, not knowing where to put his hands.

He blinked, and before he could ask Lin Shengwen what he was doing, a dense kiss fell on his neck, and after a moment of hesitation, the kiss spread to his ears and cheeks.

Finally, the lips.

A kiss that was hard to part with and lasted far too long.

Liang Xun could hardly breathe and could only gasp for air when they separated.

"Will you sleep with me for a while longer?" Lin Shengwen said.
