In the lush green mountains and forests, a wedding procession stopped by the roadside.
Inside the bright red sedan chair, the bride looked utterly terrified, her face deathly pale, her lips bluish, her eyelids motionless, and even her pupils unfocused, as if... she were dead.
Outside the bright red sedan chair, there lay a pile of dead bodies stripped of their outer garments, and a group of living people changing clothes.
"Didn't I tell you to be careful when you're working, and not to get your clothes stained with blood? How are we supposed to wear this? We'll be exposed when we get to the city." Liu Lao Er shook his outer shirt, which was dripping with bloodstains.
Qiao Dongzi, who had already changed his clothes, glanced at them and said, "They're all red, I can't tell. If you really dislike them, just wear a red sash and you'll be fine. As for that bride, she was screaming in fright just now, but she's quiet now. I hope she's not scared to death."
"What should I do if I'm really scared?"
"Hey~ then let your wife pretend to be her."
"Get lost, why don't you let your wife Qiao pretend to be her?"
"Isn't that my wife?"
"Damn it! I think you're asking for it."
Liu Lao Er walked to the sedan chair and lifted the curtain embroidered with a large red "double happiness" character...
The bride was sitting upright with a red veil covering her head, holding a bridal handkerchief in her hand.
"How is it?" Qiao Dongzi asked.
"What's wrong?" Liu Lao Er lowered the sedan curtain and called to his brothers, "Don't miss the auspicious time, our eldest brother is still waiting for us in the city."
A group of men were laughing and making lewd remarks. Among them, the four "sedan chair bearers" would occasionally bounce the bride inside the chair as they carried it.
Hearing the cries from inside, the group of men burst into laughter. Then they walked steadily for a while, until they got bored, then they bounced around, repeating the cycle endlessly, enjoying themselves immensely.
After a grueling journey that nearly made her vomit, Mu Run finally managed to sort out her body and all her memories.
During her company holiday, she declined a blind date arranged by a colleague and rushed back to her hometown in Wuyishan to help her family pick tea leaves. There's a saying: "Pre-harvest tea is as precious as gold; a day earlier is a treasure, a day later is just grass." This means the tea-picking season is extremely important; once it's over, it's nothing but grass. Just as she finished picking a full basket of 'golden leaves' and was preparing to go home, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her heart, followed by dizziness and fainting. When she woke up, she was here.
As for Xin Lian, the original owner of this body, she was an orphan girl from a mountain village. Her uncle arranged for her to marry into the Cao family, a wealthy landlord in a neighboring county, to become the second wife of Cao's son.
When the villagers heard that Xinlian was going to marry into the Cao family, they looked at her with pity. Some, seeing that she was kept in the dark and knew nothing, told her the truth.
It turned out that young Master Cao had already married four wives, none of whom lived past the age of one month; all died suddenly and tragically. The villagers advised her to run away, saying that perhaps she could find a way to survive.
Xinlian was naturally timid and cowardly, hesitant and lacking in backbone. After several days of delay, the wedding procession arrived.
Amidst the farewells of her uncle's family, Xinlian nervously boarded the bridal sedan chair.
The wedding procession went from the village into the mountains and forests.
It's unclear whether it's because this young master Cao has such a strong ability to bring misfortune to his wives, but Xinlian encountered bandits before even getting married.
Without a word, the bandits killed everyone like chopping vegetables or cutting melons. Xinlian, who witnessed the massacre, was scared to death.
Mu Run looked down at the bridal veil in her hand. What should she do now?
Escape? Where to escape to? This place is unfamiliar to everyone and everyone. In Xinlian's memory, the farthest place she had ever been from the village was this place!
She wanted to go back into her own body, but could anyone tell her how?
We can only take it one step at a time for now.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.
A bewildered and agitated Mu Run kicked the sedan chair hard and shouted at the bandits outside, "Damn you bandits! Stop the sedan chair! I need to relieve myself!"
The sedan chair bearers outside stopped and looked at each other in bewilderment.
"What was she yelling about?" Liu Lao Er asked.
One of the sedan chair bearers replied verbatim, "She said—damn you bastard bandits, stop the sedan chair, I need to relieve myself."
Qiao Dongzi, "Huh?"
The bandit "sedan chair carrier" repeated himself.
"..." Qiao Dongzi felt like he had been scolded three times!
He then laughed and said, "Hey, that's interesting. They were screaming and yelling when they saw those dead people, but now they dare to curse us."
The sedan chair bearers, bandits: "Did we ruin this bride?"
At this moment, Mu Run lifted the sedan curtain, her head still covered with a red veil, and stepped out.
Liu Lao Er's face turned fierce as he threatened Mu Runwu, "Cooperate with us properly and don't try anything funny, or you'll end up like those people."
"Don't worry, I value my life." Mu Run pulled off the red veil on her head, revealing a small and thin face with a sallow complexion, but her eyes were very dark and bright, like starlight twinkling in the night sky, exuding an unfathomable mystery.
When the bandits saw the bride's face and figure, they thought she was like an unripe, shriveled green fruit, lacking any womanly charm whatsoever.
Some bandits who had blasphemous thoughts about it immediately gave up.
Mu Run was quite confident in her face and figure. Unless a lecherous glutton or a scumbag beast, no man would have any improper thoughts about her, a skinny, yellowish "dried vegetable".
So after satisfying his physiological needs, he confidently returned to the sedan chair.
Qiao Dongzi smacked his lips and said to Liu Lao Er, "Although this bride's figure isn't great, her eyes are quite interesting."
Liu Lao Er raised his leg and kicked him, "You can understand the meaning of a half-grown child? You're a pervert!"
