Chapter 106 One Person, One Thousand Faces

"who?"

"You'll find out when you get there, Madam Yun."

"That's fine then. We have other things to do. We'll come for tea another time."

After speaking, Mu Run put down one tael of silver and left with Hongmi.

Her departure only fueled the gossip about the Fu family in the teahouse. Before, it was all just hearsay and embellishment, but now there was concrete evidence.

...

Outside the teahouse, Mu Run let out a long sigh.

Hongmi was still indignant, saying, "Sister Run should really take some of them to the authorities and teach them a lesson."

"There's no need. People can say whatever they want. You can control them for a while, but can you control them forever? Just let them be."

Mu Run is easygoing and doesn't dwell on these rumors. They'll likely fade into the background in a few days, or at most half a month, or perhaps other gossip will surface.

Hongmi was about to say something when a person walked out from behind them.

Xi Gongyong stepped forward and bowed to Mu Run, "Madam Yun."

Mu Run asked in surprise, "Second Master Gong, what are you doing here... having tea in this teahouse?"

"Yes, it was my idea when the owner of the teahouse invited the lady."

"I see. Is there anything you need, Second Master Gong?"

Seeing that Mu Run had no intention of exchanging pleasantries, Xi Gongyong said, "Then I will speak frankly here. Last night at the River God Restaurant, I tasted Madam Yun's tea, which left a very unforgettable impression on me."

"I understand, Second Master Gong wants tea?" Mu Run said with a smile.

Xi Gongyong replied, "That's right, I hope Madam Yun will grant my request."

Mu Run thought for a moment and said, "Why don't you come and take a look at my teahouse?"

Xi Gongyong was overjoyed. "Thank you, Madam Yun."

Mu Run and Hong Mi boarded the carriage and invited Xi Gongyong to travel with them. Xi Gongyong said there was a carriage available and then followed them.

Hongmi glanced behind and saw that there was indeed a carriage following them. She then lifted the carriage curtain and whispered to Murun, "Who is this Second Master Gong?"

"He is Xi Gongyong, the second-in-command of the Xiangping Gang in Xiangcheng and the owner of Xiji Tea House. He is a big tea merchant."

"Is he Xigong Yong?" Hongmi had heard of him but never seen him. "He looks like a refined and elegant young nobleman, not someone who's involved in the underworld."

"A person with a thousand faces. It's hard to say what their true nature is."

“That’s true.” Hongmi thought of Fu Yunchen, who was also a multifaceted genius.

"Won't the lady suffer losses by associating with him?"

“It’s alright. I run a tea shop, and so does he. We only deal in tea; we don’t care about anything else.”

Redmi is still a bit worried, always feeling that Nishimiya Yoshiyuki is not a good person, and it's best to avoid him if possible.

Just as she was about to speak to Mu Run, Xi Gongyong's carriage caught up, almost running alongside Mu Run's carriage.

"Madam Yun, I'm so sorry, but I have some urgent business to attend to. Would it be alright if I visited your teahouse another day?"

"Sure, Second Master Gong, please go ahead with your business and come back when you have time. I almost always stay at the teahouse whenever I have free time."

"I wonder where Madam Yun's teahouse is? Or if I finish my business and it's still early, I'd like to go and bother you for a bit."

"There's a restaurant called Si Zhai on Tiannan Street that's currently under renovation. It hasn't officially opened for business yet. But if Master Gong Er wants to have tea, he can come anytime."

"Then it's settled. Goodbye, Madam Yun."

"Take care, Second Master Gong."

Xi Gongyong's carriage turned around and hurriedly left.

Mu Run lifted the curtain of the carriage window and glanced at his carriage.

Suddenly, his gaze sharpened as a familiar-looking figure stood beside his carriage.
