There were at least twenty ghost soldiers outside, surrounding and attacking Qiao Dongzi.
Their faces were ashen, their eyes dull and lifeless, like the pale white of dead fish bellies. Their movements appeared agile, and they possessed extraordinary strength. Thick sticks were wielded with the ease of snapping chopsticks, and they emitted guttural growls that made it hard for onlookers to breathe.
When Qiao Dongzi saw Mu Run come out, he hurriedly called out, "Go back and cook, don't make things worse."
Mu Run clenched his fists and shouted, "No, I have to earn money. My elder brother said that each ghost soldier is worth ten taels of silver."
"Damn it! Be careful you don't earn it all but die before you can spend it."
At that moment, a ghost soldier spotted Mu Run and immediately raised his knife to slash at her.
Mu Run was stunned and didn't know how to react.
But her body seemed to have its own thoughts, completely without her brain's command, picking up a broken knife from the ground and throwing it at the ghost soldier.
This strike was incredibly precise, severing the ghost soldier's head!
Qiao Dongzi was startled, then exclaimed, "Beautiful!"
Mu Run was startled by his own actions. Then, looking at the ghostly soldier's head rolling on the ground and the black blood flowing from its body, he suddenly bent over, squatted down, and vomited...
Because he hadn't eaten anything, he ended up vomiting up some stomach acid, and he was so uncomfortable that tears and snot streamed down his face.
Qiao Dongzi asked, "How are you?"
Mu Run waved her hand, "No, it's nothing."
Fu Yunchen came out of the inn and saw Mu Run bent over vomiting. "Continue."
Mu Run slowly straightened up.
Two other ghost soldiers charged at her, one of them holding a dagger.
Mu Run picked up the sword of the ghost soldier she had just beheaded and gripped it tightly, trembling with fear.
One against two, dangerous!
There is a high possibility of injury or even death.
Mu Run glanced at Fu Yunchen discreetly.
This guy just stood there, watching the show.
She knew he was testing her. If she couldn't bring herself to kill a dead person today, she would be even less able to do it to a living one.
In the blink of an eye, two ghost soldiers were already close by.
One of the swords in his hand was about to strike her shoulder... but her body, with an incredible suppleness, bent to the side, dodging the blade, and with a backhand slash, she decapitated the ghost soldier!
It was a completely instinctive action...
Mu Run felt nauseous again, but another ghost soldier who followed closely behind swung his dagger toward her neck.
Mu Run leaned back, simultaneously sweeping his long leg horizontally, swiftly knocking the ghost soldier to the ground. He raised his sword again, then brought it down… its head rolling to the side.
On the other side, Qiao Dongzi also stopped fighting and chopped the remaining ghost soldiers into pieces as easily as chopping vegetables and melons.
Seeing the dismembered limbs and dark blood on the ground, Mu Run bent over and vomited again.
Qiao Dongzi wanted to go over and comfort Mu Run.
Fu Yunchen shook his head and then went into the inn.
Only after she could no longer vomit up any more stomach acid did Mu Run straighten up and return to the inn, her face pale.
Fu Yunchen and Qiao Dongzi somehow produced a nice table and three nice chairs, and sat there discussing something while looking at a map.
Seeing Mu Run enter, pale and weak, Qiao Dongzi grinned, revealing his gleaming white teeth. "Hey, how does it feel to kill someone?"
"It's a dead person!" Mu Run said, feeling like vomiting again, but there was nothing left in her stomach.
Fu Yunchen stood up, walked up to her, and handed her a silver note.
