Looking at these ghost soldiers, Mu Run thought to himself: It's good that they're dead, they're free now.
Wiping the black blood off the dagger, Mu Run quietly walked to the window of the thatched hut, lifted the straw curtain, and peeked inside.
A man dressed in a white brocade robe sat in a chair. The soft light from the lamp cast a halo around his delicate features, which only accentuated the abnormal paleness of his face.
Her phoenix eyes were languid and unfathomable, shrouded in a mysterious black mist. Her smooth, dark hair was partly combed and partly loose, flowing down her sides and onto her brocade robe. Her pale lips were the color of withered lotus petals, lifeless and decaying.
"Since you're here, come in." The seemingly harmless, lazy voice sounded like that of a handsome, decadent, and dissolute young nobleman.
But in this time, place, and scene, where could there possibly be any good people? They are just cunning charlatans with good looks.
"Aren't you coming in?" the man asked again.
"They've found her, haven't they..." Mu Run braced herself, about to reply, when a figure lifted the curtain of the thatched hut and went inside.
Tall and strong with a slender build, stunningly beautiful yet eerie heterochromatic eyes, and dressed in a cool black outfit, it was none other than Fu Yunchen.
He walked to the window and saw Mu Run squatting outside.
Mu Run: "..."
Fu Yunchen: "..."
The window was closed naturally.
Should she leave or stay?
If she were the Dark Raven, she should stay here and see what they're plotting.
If she were Fu Yunchen's person, she should leave and continue to clear out the ghost soldiers, so that the Northern Jin army below the mountain could more easily pacify Yunlong Mountain.
Mu Run chose the latter.
Some secrets are better left unknown, because once you know them, you'll think about them constantly and never have a moment's peace.
She silently disappeared back into the darkness, continuing her search for the ghost soldiers.
Fu Yunchen, of course, heard Mu Run's departing footsteps.
Even the man in white heard it and said to Fu Yunchen, "She has the aura of Huang Chengsi on her, why don't you kill her?"
"That's none of your business." Fu Yunchen took a red thread from his neck, with half a jade pendant attached to it, and tossed it to him. "The Black Witch King's egg is in the imperial tomb of the Wu Kingdom. As for which emperor's coffin it's in, you can find out for yourself."
"Not stopping me?" the man asked in surprise.
"Why should I stop you?" Fu Yunchen suddenly laughed, a cruel and cold laugh, like a bloodthirsty demon king, terrifying yet also like a fallen god, handsome.
"Brother, you look so tempting."
Fu Yunchen immediately composed himself. "Leave before I regret it."
"Brother, you are mine." The man put away half of the jade pendant, and his figure gradually faded until he disappeared.
Fu Yunchen frowned, then waved his sleeve, and the bean lamp suddenly emitted a green flame more than ten feet high, setting the entire thatched hut ablaze!
Fu Yunchen left the thatched hut and chased after Mu Run.
The Northern Jin army, carrying torches and arrayed in battle formation, began their sweep of Yunlong Mountain.
Mu Run had already run to the top of Yunlong Mountain. Looking at Yunlong Mountain, which resembled a coiled dragon, he put away the dagger in his hand.
Fu Yunchen appeared behind her. "You're quite fast."
"You're not slow either. A total of fifty-three ghost soldiers, five hundred and thirty taels, thank you for your patronage." Mu Run stretched out her slender hand, as if she were a hired servant, settling accounts after the job was done, with no delays.
Fu Yunchen grabbed her small hand and pulled her into his arms.
Mu Run struggled for a moment, but he used his internal force to restrain her, and she couldn't break free. "Let go, or I'll give you more money."
