A river appeared before Mu Run's eyes.
"There really is a river!" Mu Run walked to the riverbank, looked at the rising mist on the water, and realized that the miasma was coming from this river. "What a terrifying river! Is the water poisonous? Where does it flow?"
Fu Yunchen replied, "This river is called the Dead River. No one knows it or there are any records of it. It has no origin or destination."
“All rivers are connected; it must have a source and a destination.” Mu Run looked at the dead river. “But we weren’t affected by it while we were inside.”
“It is not connected to the rivers on the mainland, otherwise there would be no living people on the mainland now,” Fu Yunchen said.
"What a strange river." Mu Run looked at the rising poisonous miasma, and then looked ahead; it was at least three zhang (approximately 10 meters) away. "Can you jump across?"
Fu Yunchen nodded, "Okay, what about you?"
“I…” Mu Run suddenly felt a little weak in the knees, “I don’t know.”
Despite her martial arts skills, she didn't know if she could jump across the nearly ten-meter-long river.
If she couldn't jump across and fell into the river with a 'plop,' who knew if she would be poisoned by the toxic water in the dead river, especially with a child in the car? She dared not take the risk.
"How did you get here before?"
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a blur before her eyes, her waist was grabbed, and then her feet slipped into the air, and she was sent flying into the sky.
Mu Run stared wide-eyed in shock, too afraid to utter a sound, even holding her breath. Tuan Tuan clung to her neck, looking equally terrified.
Only Huanhuan... excitedly laughed and shouted, "Feifei—Huanhuan is flying—"
Mu Run really wanted to slap her, but she was worried that Fu Yunchen would get distracted and fall into the water.
"Splash!" The luggage bundle that Mu Run was carrying on his back suddenly came loose and fell into the dead river!
In the blink of an eye, the bundle vanished as a thick cloud of miasma!
Mu Run's eyes widened in terror.
Even after her feet touched solid ground, she was still in a daze, and her face turned purple from holding her breath.
"Breathe." Fu Yunchen gently patted Mu Run's back.
With a slight tremor, Mu Run, holding Tuan Tuan, let out a long breath, then looked back at the Dead River, "It was terrifying! If we had fallen in, we might really be gone."
Fu Yunchen said, "Let's keep going."
Then I took her hand and found that her fingertips were cold, indicating that she was scared, so I tightened my grip a little.
Mu Run noticed the change in his strength, looked up at him, and saw Huanhuan in his arms, her little face full of excitement.
Thinking of Huanhuan's scream just now, Mu Run immediately broke free from Fu Yunchen's hand and lightly tapped Huanhuan's back. "Do you know how dangerous that was? Can't you be as careful and quiet as your brother?"
"Don't hit the child," Fu Yunchen said, displeased.
Huanhuan also said, "That's right, why hit the child? The child is perfectly fine, what if you hit them until they become stupid?"
Mu Run: "...You! Me!" Finally, she glared at Fu Yunchen, "This is my daughter, how I discipline her is my business."
"She's in my hands now. If anything happens to her, it's my problem," Fu Yunchen said firmly.
Mu Run paused, then put Tuantuan in his hands, and then hugged Huanhuan. "Is this alright?"
Huanhuan immediately cowered in Murun's arms, showing a remarkable sense of pragmatism.
Fu Yunchen looked at Huanhuan, then at Murun, his thin lips moved slightly, but in the end he didn't say anything and carried Tuantuan forward.
