Long Qian then composed himself and returned to normal, "Well, don't tell your parents either."
"I won't tell you, I won't tell you," Huanhuan readily agreed.
Zi Wu returned with Tuan Tuan, looking at Long Qian with disdain as he threatened a small child...
Tuantuan pulled Huanhuan back, frowning as she looked at Long Qian, "Don't bully your sister."
"Heh, so you're even protecting your sister now." Long Qian smiled as she looked at Tuan Tuan.
Tuantuan said, "Mother said that Tuantuan is a boy and sister is a girl, and boys should protect girls. You can't bully sister!"
Long Qian picked them up, one in each arm, and said, "Uncle would never bear to bully you. You are my most precious treasures."
"Uncle, let's go plant the Gu!" Huanhuan urged Long Qian.
Long Qian nodded, "Okay, it will only hurt for a little while, and it will go away quickly."
Huanhuan only wanted to plant the Gu poison and then go find her mother, so even though she was afraid of the pain, she stubbornly said, "Huanhuan isn't afraid of pain."
Long Qian looked at Tuan Tuan. Tuan Tuan had been tormented by the Heart-Eating Gu before, so the pain of being infected with the Gu was like a tickle to him.
The room where the Gu were raised was dark and damp. Rows of shelves held a few jars scattered about. Originally, this place was densely packed with Gu jars, but when Huanhuan and Tuantuan first arrived, some Gu were released, and others were accidentally killed by Huanhuan, so in the end, only a tiny bit remained.
Tuantuan didn't like it here. Since coming in, she barely moved around, watching Huanhuan playing around in the Gu pot like a madwoman.
"Wow! Tuantuan, come and see! There's a super ugly worm here!" Huanhuan called to Tuantuan.
She especially liked these little insects. The uglier they were, the more beautiful they would become when they transformed into butterflies. She loved beautiful things the most, and she loved the process of them becoming beautiful even more.
Long Qian walked over, glanced at the Gu inside, and said to Huanhuan, "This is the Poison King Gu."
Then he pulled out the Poison King Gu with his bare hands. It was purplish-black all over, as long as his palm, with a snake's head and a scorpion's tail, a pair of fangs, and the many legs of a centipede.
Upon seeing this, Tuantuan instinctively took a step back, saying, "I don't want to."
He turned and ran.
Long Qian said to Zi Wu, who was guarding the door, "Grab him."
Tuantuan was hugged by Ziwu. "It's okay, it'll just prick you with its tail. You weren't afraid when your chest hurt before, so this is even less of a problem."
"But it looks... disgusting." Tuantuan didn't like it.
Huanhuan said, "It's not disgusting, it's just a little ugly, but it's ugly-cute."
Long Qian nodded in agreement upon hearing Huanhuan's words, "Exactly. Huanhuan, shall we go first?"
"..." Huanhuan immediately became alert again, staring at the scorpion tail of the Poison King Gu, "How much does it hurt?"
"It's like being pricked by a needle. Didn't you get pricked by a thorn when you burned the garden last time? It's much lighter than that." Long Qian lied to Huanhuan in a serious tone.
"After that kind of Gu poison is finished, can I go see my mother?"
"Yes, I'll personally escort you back. I'll also attend your mother's coronation ceremony while I'm at it."
"Then hurry up and come on." Huanhuan plopped down on a Gu box.
Inside that Gu box were thousands of Gu creatures devouring and evolving each other, emitting a chilling chewing sound.
Huanhuan didn't care at all, but after hearing this, Tuantuan was even less willing to plant the Poison King Gu.
Ziwu patted Tuantuan reassuringly, "Don't be afraid, I'll hold you, we won't sit on that box."
"Mmm." Tuantuan stretched out her little arms and hugged Ziwu's neck.
Ziwu felt Tuantuan's trust and his heart softened.
