Tuantuan nestled her face in the crook of Fu Yunchen's neck, saying, "I want Daddy to hug me."
Fu Yunchen bent down and picked Huanhuan up as well, "How about this?"
Huanhuan blushed and smiled shyly.
Beside the lake, the man stood by the shore, watching Fu Yunchen holding two children, his gaze fixed on Mu Run, full of love and joy, a faint smile playing on his thin lips.
"I never expected that a human emperor would emerge from my mountains, his merits are immeasurable! In recognition of the human emperor's merits, I, the god, will grant you ten years of lifespan."
A divine seal appeared on his forehead, and a wisp of golden divine power flew out from the seal and quickly disappeared into the air.
This wisp of divine power seemed to have greatly exhausted his energy; after drawing it all, he let out a weary yawn. The next instant, he transformed into a gigantic golden roc, coiling around it.
He lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
Holding his two children, Fu Yunchen suddenly sensed something and looked up at the sky.
A golden light, as thin as a hair, shot straight at him and entered his brow before he could react.
Immediately, his left palm felt a burning sensation!
Fu Yunchen was holding Huanhuan; if he wanted to see the palm of his hand, he would have to put the child down.
But he didn't want to let go.
Tuantuan, with her keen senses, noticed that Fu Yunchen was stunned, so she asked in a low voice, "Daddy, what's wrong?"
Fu Yunchen said, "It's alright, Father is fine. Shall we go back to Chongyi Peak and stay for a few days?"
"I want to go to Qingxuetang, and Dean Yan too," Tuantuan said in a clear voice.
Fu Yunchen nodded, "Okay."
Looking at Tuantuan, Mu Run figured she hadn't inherited any of the Wu clan's bloodline, so she had no interest in witchcraft. Huanhuan, on the other hand, could already control the Gu butterflies with witchcraft; her talent was undeniable.
...
In the carriage, Fu Yunchen held Tuantuan, who was obediently looking at a picture book, in his arms, while Huanhuan was tinkering with her own kinds of Gu, completely absorbed in it.
Because of her pregnancy, Mu Run was sleepy and had already fallen asleep on the thick brocade quilt.
He raised his left hand, slowly opened it, and looked at his clean palm; the red line had disappeared.
That's the limit of his lifespan. If he's extremely lucky, he might have six months left to live; if he's unlucky, he might only have two months. But if it disappears completely, then he has at least a year left to live!
That glimmer of golden light!
Fu Yunchen lifted the car window curtain and looked into the depths of Chongyang Mountain. Was it him who did it?
Only gods can alter the lifespan of mortals.
Fu Yunchen looked at Mu Run, a smile spreading across his handsome face, "I can watch the baby in your belly be born now."
Mu Run turned over and went back to sleep.
Tuantuan looked up at Fu Yunchen, her large, clear eyes reflecting his face, filled with tender affection.
"Father."
"Um?"
"I don't like witchcraft."
"Hehe, Father knows. Because Father doesn't like it either."
"Really? But Mother wants me to learn it."
"oh?"
"Mom just told me that she still hopes I can continue studying with my sister."
Fu Yunchen knew Mu Run's thoughts. She always wanted her child to learn more skills because she firmly believed that relying on oneself was better than relying on others.
After playing with the Gu for a while, Huanhuan got tired and curled up next to Murun to sleep, just like a beautiful little cub, obedient and cute.
Fu Yunchen looked at Huanhuan and said to Tuantuan, "She probably wants you to know more so that you can protect yourself if you encounter witchcraft in the future."
Tuantuan looked at Huanhuan and said, "I have an older sister. She said she will protect me."
