...
Chongyang Inn.
Yang Yang sat comfortably by the river, fishing, with a fan made of goose feathers in his hand.
Behind him was a straw mat, on which a little girl wearing a bib was learning to crawl, whimpering and struggling.
Hearing her whimpering, Yang Yang chuckled and said, "Go, my darling girl!"
"I asked you to take care of the child, is this how you take care of a child?" A woman whose appearance was at most pretty walked over with a teapot in her hand, scolding her.
Yang Yang chuckled, "My lady, please calm down. I was just about to add a dish for you and the child."
Madam Fan handed him the teapot, walked to the child's side, picked her up, and frowned when she saw a bump on her fair and delicate face. "The child has been bitten by an insect."
"Huh?" Yang Yang quickly dropped his fishing rod. "You got bitten?"
"Yes, didn't you apply insect repellent balm to her?"
"Oh dear, I forgot."
"...You careless father, I'll take the child and go back first. You can continue fishing." Madam Fan left with her daughter in her arms.
Yang Yang looked back at the fishing rod and said, "Fine, if I don't catch any fish today, I'll read my name backwards."
Upon hearing this, Madam Fan, holding her child, smiled and said, "Read it backwards, it's still Yang Yang."
The faint sound of horses' hooves could be heard.
Fan stopped in her tracks, holding her daughter. Yang Yang looked over at the sound, but didn't put down his fishing rod.
A moment later, a black horse came into view. There was no one on its back, but the horse was fully equipped.
Yang Yang whistled, and the horse stopped and snorted.
Yang Yang put away his fishing rod and walked over.
Upon closer inspection, some bright red bloodstains were seen on the horse tack.
Yang Yang said to Madam Fan, "Take the child back first and have Xiao Hezi come over."
Madam Fan nodded in agreement, "Okay."
Yang Yang carefully inspected the horse tack again, and finally found a sealed letter in the saddlebag.
Without hastily opening the letter, he glanced at the black horse again, especially its constantly swaying tail and its restless hooves, and said to Xiao Hezi, the innkeeper's waiter who rushed over, "Horse your horse and follow it, see if you can find anything."
This is an old horse, looking restless and agitated, most likely pleading for its master's help.
Sure enough, as soon as Little Hezi rode over, it immediately led Little Hezi away.
"It's a smart horse."
Yang Yang took the letter back to the inn.
Several hotel guests were drinking and chatting in the lobby. When they saw Yang Yang return from outside, some of them, knowing he had gone fishing, called out, "Manager Yang, how many fish did you catch? Can you cook one for me?"
"Hey, there are too many mosquitoes, but we have some good fish in the kitchen that have just been kept alive and have expelled the muddy smell. Would you like one?"
"Two, please."
"Alright, I'll have the cook prepare it right away."
Yang Yang went into the kitchen and instructed the cook to prepare two fish to be sent out, while he went into the inner room.
There are some weapons, such as knives, spears, and clubs, which are different from kitchen utensils, as well as a desk and a lamp.
He sat down at the table, first putting on a pair of thin leather gloves, then a towel soaked in medicine to cover his mouth and nose, and finally using a specially made silver needle for testing for poison to puncture the envelope.
Only after seeing that the silver needles did he open the letter.
Inside was a blank sheet of paper and a peacock feather.
Upon seeing the peacock feathers, Yang Yang's pupils constricted. Then, glancing at the blank letter, he hurriedly went out into the inner room and said to the person outside, "Bring me a pot of wine."
