Chapter 481 Killing the Snake to Save the Eagle

"Then let's call her... Madam?" Lady Qiao was a quick-witted person and immediately understood what Mu Run meant.

Mu Run nodded, then said to Zhuang Zhuang, "This is your Aunt Qiao, and your youngest aunt."

Zhuangzhuang greeted everyone obediently and sensibly, "Aunt Qiao, Auntie Yao."

Lady Qiao picked him up in one go. Having given birth to and raised a whole bunch of children, Lady Qiao was incredibly skilled at holding babies, and Zhuang Zhuang was also very close to her.

"The young master is really handsome, just like his father."

“Yes,” Mu Run laughed, “none of the three look like me.”

“The next one might be just like that,” Aunt Qiao said with a smile.

Mu Run blushed slightly, "Let's see how fate brings us together."

"Hmm." Madam Qiao thought of her children, "However, I'm quite happy that my son takes after his father. He's tall and slender, with thick eyebrows and big eyes."

As Yao Yao listened to their words, she thought of her own daughter, and her expression became somewhat dazed.

Mu Run secretly gave Aunt Qiao a wink.

Madam Qiao understood and said to Yao Yao, "It's rare for Madam to come up the mountain, let's ask someone to take the tea down and then accompany Madam for a stroll."

“Okay.” Yao Yao came back to her senses, looked at the guards who were following Mu Run and Zhuang Zhuang not far away, and beckoned them over.

Lady Qiao had her tea leaves and Yao Yao's tea taken to Chongyi Hall by the guards. They then accompanied Mu Run on his way up the mountain.

Without the burden of tea leaves, Yao Yao's steps became much lighter. She introduced the distribution of tea trees on the mountain to Mu Run and where new tea trees had been planted.

Aunt Qiao then helped Mu Run take care of Zhuang Zhuang, so she didn't have to worry about it and could just enjoy the mountains and trees.

As she walked, Mu Run stopped and looked at the tall, lush grass in the distance.

She has excellent hearing; she can hear everything within a hundred meters if she listens carefully. And since she is in the mountains, where it is even quieter, she can hear things even more clearly.

Mu Run turned to Qiao Niangzi and said, "Keep an eye on Zhuangzhuang. I'll be right back."

She left the mountain path and stone steps, hurrying towards the bushes. Her movements were incredibly light, as if she were walking on flat ground. She quickly reached the bushes and parted them.

To everyone's horror, a green snake as thick as a child's wrist was seen devouring a gray, fluffy fledgling eagle.

The cry she just heard belonged to this fledgling eagle.

The little creature was about to be eaten, but it still fought hard to survive.

"What a pitiful little thing," Mu Run sighed, then pulled a dagger from her waist for self-defense. Since the assassination attempt yesterday, she had asked Fu Yunchen for this dagger to carry with her for any eventuality.

The green snake sensed the murderous aura emanating from Mu Run when he drew his dagger, and immediately quickened its pace in swallowing the fledgling eagle.

Mu Run, however, would not give it another chance to eat, and with a swift and precise flick of her wrist, she pinned the dagger to its vital spot!

Cut it in two!

The snake's body, having lost its head, was violently coiled, almost twisted into a rope.

Mu Run watched it struggle until it stopped moving, then sheathed her dagger and pulled the fledgling eagle out of the equally motionless snake's head.

The fledgling eagle is still alive, but the one that was bitten by the snake is barely alive.

After wiping the fledgling eagle clean with a handkerchief, Mu Run carried it away.

After she left, the thick green snake moved again, its severed body and head slowly coming together...

"I found a baby eagle." Mu Run didn't tell Qiao Niangzi and the others about the snake, only that she had found a baby eagle, which looked quite cute.
