Chapter 5 might spare your life!

In the new house, there is a carved pillar canopy bed.

Mu Run lay there, her body limp, her hands and feet trembling slightly, filled with a deep-seated fear and unease towards the person in front of her.

She's still alive!

She felt both relieved and regretful... Actually, it would be good if she could just faint, at least she wouldn't suffer. She had a feeling that things would definitely get tough from here on out.

"Want to consummate our marriage?" He parted his thin lips slightly, his voice low and seductive, with a hint of teasing and a touch of familiarity... But Mu Run was filled with fear and had no mind to think about anything else.

"A bridal chamber?!"

In the candlelight, Mu Run's eyes appeared moist and alluring. The rejuvenating dew within her, suppressed by excessive fear, surged with overwhelming heat because of these two words, and a frenzied tide of passion surged forth.

"Heh." He chuckled softly, whispering seductively in her ear, "I might spare your life~"

Mu Run's face flushed instantly, her bewildered and flustered state only intensifying her embarrassment and anxiety. "I... can I know your name?"

“Fu Yunchen,” he replied.

"Very good... Listen..." Very good! Even if I die, I'll know who the murderer is!

Mu Run glanced at Fu Yunchen's face again. His features were cold and perfect, his long eyelashes like feathers and fans, casting shadows in the candlelight. Her heart skipped a beat, and without thinking, she blurted out, "Then let's go through the hole... um~"

His soft lips gently touched her forehead, and a strong electric shock immediately shot from her spinal nerves into her brain, turning her thoughts into a jumbled mess.

In a daze of passion, her clothes trailed on the ground...

Mu Run was completely bewildered; how had things turned out this way? Perhaps it was because he said he could spare her life, and she wanted to live, so almost without thinking, her body chose to submit and yield. Or perhaps she was blinded by lust, or perhaps she simply wanted to vent her frustrations from the horrific nightmare she had experienced that night…

The bright, silvery moon hangs quietly high in the sky.

The light from the wedding candles intertwined with the moonlight, adding to the enchanting and tender atmosphere.

His appearance was exceptionally handsome and otherworldly, flawless, with long, muscular, and muscular build without an ounce of excess fat. He also possessed a seductive scent that carried a sweet, bloodthirsty fragrance; a single whiff of it could bewitch one's very soul.

He coaxed softly, "Tell me, what's your name?"

"Mu Run." She blurted out her real name, but Mu Run, already in a daze, had no idea what she was saying.

"Run'er..." The man nodded and whispered in her ear, his hoarse and deep voice reaching her ears.

Another tender and poignant moment ensued.

The noises inside the house drifted outside through the not-so-soundproof doors and windows.

Old Liu held a pipe in his hand, taking a puff every now and then before exhaling a choking cloud of smoke.

Qiao Dongzi held a pot of wine in his hand. He could drink a thousand cups without getting drunk, and drinking wine was no different from drinking water.

Both of them were married and had experienced life in their own way. So the noise coming from inside the house bothered them particularly.

"Old Liu, do you think the boss has bad taste? How could he fall for such a hen with no figure and no face?"

"That's because only the hen in the Cao family is still alive." They killed all the other women in the Cao family.

"That's true. The eldest brother was too eager for revenge and inadvertently fell into the trap of that fake Taoist priest."

It turned out that the incense that Goufu Tianshi burned in the secret chamber was an extremely potent aphrodisiac, colorless and odorless, mixed with the smoke of talismans and the stench of corpses, making it very difficult to guard against. When Fu Yunchen broke open the door to the secret chamber, he was caught off guard and inhaled it twice. Later, during the interrogation in the secret chamber, he inhaled some more, which led to the drug taking effect later, thus triggering the laxative.

Actually, the Rejuvenating Dew that Mu Run drank was the same thing, only this medicine was less effective on women, but after drinking two bottles, it still left Mu Run dazed and confused. Now that Fu Yunchen was there, it was a lucky coincidence that they both got rid of the trouble.

Afterwards, Mu Run was utterly exhausted, both physically and mentally. But reason told her that this was a dangerous place, and the more handsome the man before her, the more wicked his heart. As long as she could still move, she had to leave as soon as possible, otherwise she wouldn't be able to!

She crept stealthily over the man's body from the inside of the bed. Just as she was about to pass him, her aching legs gave way, and she accidentally bumped into him.

Mu Run felt a chill run down his spine.

Fortunately, he didn't wake up, so they quickened their pace.

After getting out of bed, she walked barefoot, like a cat, tiptoeing towards the corner of the room. There were several boxes and a red cloth bundle there, which were Xinlian's dowry from her uncle's house.

There was no need to look at the box; it was empty. It was just for show, meant to impress passersby. Mu Run simply picked up the red cloth bundle and opened it.

Inside the bundle was a set of coarse gray cloth dress, several changes of underwear, and a pair of new blue cloth shoes, which Xinlian had made herself. Although the fabric was of poor quality, the workmanship was excellent.

Mu Run put on her clothes and shoes, braided her hair into a plait, looking just like a little girl. She then wrapped up the remaining clothes and slung them over her shoulder. As she passed the table, she glanced at the cold teapot. She was incredibly thirsty, but having just crawled out of 'hell,' she was terrified of anything that would enter her mouth.

After glancing at the man sleeping on the bed, Mu Run quietly opened the door.

Then……

Their eyes met!

"Cough~" Liu Lao Er first looked away, coughed softly, and then tapped the remaining ash in his pipe.

With the rustling of cigarette ash, Mu Run saw that a layer had already settled on the ground, indicating that he had been smoking there for a while.

When Qiao Dongzi returned from the outhouse, he saw Mu Run and the red bundle she was carrying.

"You're not exhausted yet? Looks like the boss is still a bit green." Qiao Dongzi had been drinking half the night, and the alcohol emboldened him, making him speak more boldly.

Liu Lao Er gave him a look that said, "Be careful what you say," and continued to look at Mu Run.

"I know nothing and saw nothing. Once I leave the Cao family, I am not even Xinlian. I wonder if you heroes could be merciful and spare my life?" Mu Run tried to remain calm.

"Whether or not they will give you a way out is not up to them." A slightly lazy, husky, low-pitched voice suddenly rang out from behind Mu Run.

Mu Run's already weak and pale face turned even whiter!

"Boss, everything is ready. The city gates will open in half an hour," Qiao Dongzi said respectfully to the people in the room.

Boss?!

Mu Run stared in disbelief: "Bandits?"

Young Master Cao's overly extravagant purple satin brocade robe with peony flowers, when worn by Fu Yunchen, did not appear vulgar at all. Instead, he looked like a dashing and elegant nobleman, even exuding a roguish charm.

Mu Run stared at her blankly, wondering if she had just been with a bandit leader.

Oh my God!

Why are you doing this to her?!

She asked herself if she had done anything wrong!

Fu Yunchen placed his hand on Mu Run's head, which was just up to his chest, and rubbed it. He found that it felt soft and delicate, like the fur of a young animal, and quite thick. So he stroked it a few more times... The neat hair quickly turned into a bird's nest.
