Chapter 53: A Truthful Confession

After seeing the birthmark, the Prime Minister's wife could no longer stand; her legs buckled and she was about to fall.

Granny Song quickly helped her up. "Madam, what's wrong, Madam?"

"I need to go to the palace. Arrange for her to stay in the west wing. She is not allowed to leave the room, and no one is allowed to see her."

“Madam, is there something wrong with her?” asked Granny Song.

The Prime Minister's wife looked at Mu Run's face and solemnly instructed, "Keep a close eye on her," before hurriedly leaving.

After taking her to the west wing, Granny Song told her that her time to rise to prominence had come and that she should not go out, before leaving.

"What's going on?" Mu Run raised his hand to touch the back of his head, wondering how the Prime Minister's wife knew about the red birthmark. Birthmarks are very private things, like a unique mark on the body. Judging from the Prime Minister's wife's reaction, could it be that she knows about Xin Lian?

Mu Run felt it was necessary to tell Fu Yunchen about this, after all, she and he had already made a pact and formed an alliance. Also, Liu Lao Er hadn't picked her up yet, he probably already knew, so she had to go and tell him.

Granny Song was very cautious. She locked the door when she went out. Although it wasn't completely locked, the people inside couldn't get out without help from outsiders.

Mu Run looked around and his eyes lit up; the window in the room was open.

Ancient houses are not tall. She climbed out of the window, leaned down, and was only about a foot or so above the ground. She jumped down with ease.

Fu Yunchen already knew that Mu Run had not left the manor.

He pulled open the desk drawer, and a fluffy white ball jumped out.

"Fu Yunchen! If you lock me up again, I'll eat you up!" Cha Bao stood up straight, accusing Fu Yunchen with a cute but fierce expression.

Looking at its appearance, Fu Yunchen couldn't help but laugh and said, "Aren't you afraid of bursting your belly?"

"...No! I have other space inside my stomach."

"so good?"

"I won't tell you." Cha Bao realized she had let something slip, so she turned her little head away and gave it the back of her head.

“She’s missing. Can you look for her?” Fu Yunchen said.

"Disappeared again?" Cha Bao sniffed the air with her little pink nose and finally said, "Where did she disappear to? She's heading this way."

"Hehe, you're really useful." Fu Yunchen grabbed it and stuffed it back into the drawer.

"You bastard Fu Yunchen, you're so ungrateful!" Cha Bao struggled. "Let me out! I want to play with Run Run!"

"It's best to keep quiet, or I'll refine you into a pill. The Mountain Beast Pill can increase one's lifespan by two hundred years."

"You dare!"

"Want to give it a try?"

There was no movement in the drawer.

Mu Run pushed open the courtyard gate of Qionglin Pavilion and went straight to the study.

"I have something to tell you, and I need your advice," Mu Run said directly, seeing that Fu Yunchen hadn't even bothered to greet her.

Fu Yunchen gestured for him to sit down and talk slowly.

Mu Run briefly told Fu Yunchen that Granny Song wanted her to be a substitute for a certain noblewoman, and that she had never met the Prime Minister's wife, but knew that she had a red birthmark on the back of her head.

After listening, Fu Yunchen fell silent.

"Say something, I have to go back," Mu Run urged.

Fu Yunchen looked at her and asked, "So you went to the Prime Minister's residence to infiltrate and gather information about the court's plans to deal with Bianyun Village?"

Although Mu Run didn't want to admit it to him, she still nodded. "Yes, although I don't like bandits, I like Hongmi and the others, and I don't want them to get hurt."
